Premium privacy and purchase data

Last updated September 13, 2026. This notice supplements the Manuals.plus site privacy policy for Premium checkout, access, and advertising measurement.

Checkout and account access

Ezoic provides Premium checkout, subscriber identity, account management, and entitlement decisions. Ezoic's payment provider processes payment credentials. Manuals.plus receives the minimum access result needed to unlock a membership or a purchased document; it does not receive or store the full card number in the Premium application.

Short-lived access session

After the origin confirms a current entitlement with Ezoic, Manuals.plus sets a signed, HttpOnly cookie limited to the /premium/ path. It contains only an expiry, membership status, and entitled document hashes. The cookie expires after approximately ten minutes and is refreshed only after a new entitlement check.

First-party event ledger

To operate and audit the purchase flow, Manuals.plus records an event UUID, checkout-attempt UUID, event type, document hash when relevant, price value in cents, currency, limited technical metadata, and timestamps. The ledger distinguishes checkout starts, cancellations, errors, purchases, viewer opens, downloads, and attempts that remain unconverted for 24 hours.

The ledger intentionally excludes email addresses, card or bank details, Ezoic reader tokens, and payment credentials. A purchase event is recorded only after a fresh entitlement check and conversion of a pending, previously unconverted attempt.

Microsoft Advertising measurement

Premium pages use Microsoft UET tag 211069842 to measure offer views and purchase-flow events. A server-to-server conversion event may also be sent after Ezoic verifies a completed payment so ad blockers or an immediately closed browser do not lose the purchase. Browser and server copies use the same anonymous checkout-attempt ID and event name so Microsoft can deduplicate them. Events may include the event name, payment type, USD revenue, currency, page path, and a Microsoft click ID when the visit came from a Microsoft ad. The Premium implementation does not send email, card details, Ezoic identity, or a Manuals+ user ID to Microsoft.

Microsoft may process this data under the Microsoft Privacy Statement. Advertising-cookie choices are available through the site's consent controls.

Ezoic analytics

Premium sends Ezoic a custom event name plus a document hash or purchase type for operational and revenue analysis. It does not include email or payment credentials in those custom-event values.

Your choices

• Continue to use the unchanged free, ad-supported manual instead of purchasing Premium.
• Use the site's consent controls to manage advertising cookies where available.
• Use the Ezoic account portal to manage or cancel a monthly subscription.
