SETUP

  1. Please ensure your Nintendo Switch is using the most recent system update for optimal compatibility with PowerA Wired controllers.
  2. Make sure your Nintendo Switch system is powered on and connected to your TV.
  3. Insert the USB-A cable connector into a USB port on the Nintendo Switch dock. Connect the micro USB cable connector end to the wired controller. The Connection / Program LED will turn solid WHITE when connected to the Nintendo Switch dock. Your wired controller is now ready for use.
  4. For audio, fully insert the 3.5 mm jack of your headset or headphone into the 3.5 mm Audio Jack Socket of the Wired Controller

NOTE:

  • Only some software titles support microphone or chat function. Please check the software title manual for compatibility or support.
  • Please make sure the volume on the Nintendo Switch is lowered before connecting a headset or headphone to the Wired Controller to prevent hearing damage.
  • Once connected, slowly raise the volume on the Nintendo Switch to a comfortable level. You can also set the maximum volume for headsets or headphones connected to the Nintendo Switch. From the ‘Home’ screen, select System Settings, System’, ‘Lower Max Headphone Volume’, select ‘On’.
  • The Nintendo Switch only supports one audio output. When a headset or headphone is connected to the Wired Controller, audio from all other devices, including HDMI-connected devices will be disabled. When connecting more than one USB audio device, only the first device connected will have an audio output.
  • Do not use high volume settings for an extended period of time to avoid hearing loss.

BASIC USAGE

The number of Wired Controllers that can be connected to the Nintendo Switch is dependent on how many USB ports are available on the Nintendo Switch dock. On-screen notifications will indicate to which USB port each controller is connected. Does not support HD rumble, IR camera, motion controls or amiibo™ NFC. For use in dock mode only. Not for use with Joy-Con™ only games.

ASSIGNING ADVANCED GAMING BUTTONS

  1. Press and hold the Program Button for 2-3 seconds on the back of the controller. The Connection / Advanced Gaming Button Program Status LED will flash, signaling the controller is in assign mode.
  2. Press one of the following buttons (A/B/X/Y/L/R/ZL/ZR/Left Stick Press/Right Stick Press/+Control Pad) you wish to assign to an Advanced Gaming Button. Then, press the Advanced Gaming Button (AGR or AGL) that you wish to perform that function. The Connection / Program LED will stop flashing, signaling the Advanced Gaming Button has been set.
  3. Repeat for the remaining Advanced Gaming Button.

NOTE: Advanced Gaming Button assignments will remain in memory even after your controller is disconnected.

RESETTING ADVANCED GAMING BUTTONS

  1. Hold the Program Button down for 2-3 seconds. The Connection / Advanced Gaming Button Program Status LED will slowly flash, signaling the controller is in program mode.
  2. Press either AGL or AGR to individually reset each button, or hold down the Program Button for 5 seconds to reset both simultaneously.

TROUBLESHOOTING

Q1. Why isn't my controller connecting to my Nintendo Switch console?

Al. Confirm that the USB Cable is securely connected to the Wired Controller and th Nintendo Switch dock. A2. Confirm that the Nintendo Switch is powered on and connected to an external display before connecting your wired controller. A3. Confirm that your Nintendo Switch has the latest System Update installed. A4. If headphones are connected, please disconnect them and disconnect the USB cable from the Nintendo Switch dock and wired controller. Repeat steps listed under SETUP.

Q2. Why don't I feel any vibration when using this controller?

Al. This product does not support vibration functionality.

Q3. Why don't I hear audio?

Al. Confirm headset or headphones are functional. Refer to the product manual. A2. Confirm only one wired controller is connected for audio since the Nintendo Switch allows only one audio output. A3. Confirm your Wired Controller is connected to the Nintendo Switch dock and the Connection / Advance Gaming Button Program Status LED is solid WHITE. A4. Confirm headset or headphones 3.5 mm audio jack is firmly connected to the Wired Controller 3.5 mm Audio Jack Socket. A5. Confirm volume is turned up on Nintendo Switch console or software title if applicable. A6. Disconnect the 3.5 mm audio jack from headset or headphones. Disconnect USB cable from Nintendo Switch dock and Wired Controller. Repeat steps listed under SETUP.

Q4. Why isn't chat or microphone working?

A1. Confirm the software title supports chat function or microphone function by referencing the software title manual. If chat and microphone are supported, check software title menu for audio settings. A2. Confirm your microphone on headset is functional. Refer to product manual. A3. Disconnect the 3.5 mm audio jack from headset or headphones. Disconnect USB cable from Nintendo Switch dock and Wired Controller. Repeat steps listed under SETUP.

Q5. Why don't the motion controls work?

Al. This controller does not support motion controls.
