Product Information
- The Polestar 3 Digital key allows users to activate and manage a digital key for their vehicle using their smartphone.
Product Usage Instructions
- No physical key or key card is required during the pairing process if the vehicle was recently unlocked.
- Pairing can also be initiated via CSD by scanning a QR code.
- If you change your phone, follow the instructions received via email after successfully pairing the primary digital key.
- To transfer the digital key to a new phone, set up the new phone with a backup and press “Add to Wallet” in the email.
- Start the digital key pairing process by following the instructions in the invitation email.
- If prompted, place an NFC key card on the reader.
- Scan the QR code and continue setting up the digital key in your phone’s wallet.

To prepare you for your Polestar ownership, there is some important information for you to know regarding the digital key. Please read up on the following information here
To activate your digital key, simply enter your car, press the following Add to Wallet button on your phone, and follow the instructions on the phone’s wallet:
- Digital key activation for Android devices is expected to become available at the beginning of 2025.
- If you cannot find this mail later on, do not worry. There is an alternative way to activate your digital key: by scanning the QR code in the onboarding guide or the Profile Settings from the car’s center display.
- In case you are prompted to enter an activation code, use the following: 12345679
- If you experience any issues, be sure to contact Polestar Support.
After successfully pairing the primary digital key, the user will receive an email with instructions on what to do if you change the phone
The link between the digital key and the car will still be available as a backup of your previous phone. When the new phone is set with backup, press Add to Wallet in this email to activate the already linked digital key in your new phone
Add a digital key to a new device

If you ever need to pair a digital key with a new device, you can do this via the car’s center display by pressing on your device under the digital key menu in the Profile Settings, and then pressing ‘change device’.
