LED EMERGENCY BACKUP DRIVER
WARNING, CAUTION, SAFETY AND INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
WARNING
- Installation, service, and maintenance of emergency drivers and luminaries should be performed by a qualified licensed electrician.
- Please read and follow all safety instructions.
- AC power must be off before proceeding with assembly or installation of emergency driver.
- Do not use this equipment for other than its intended use.
- To reduce the risk of electric shock, disconnect both normal and emergency sources within this unit before servicing any equipment connected to this unit.
- Servicing of this equipment should be performed by qualified personnel only.
CAUTION
- Make sure all connections are in accordance with the National Electrical Code and all local codes.
- An unswitched AC power source is required (100-347 VAC, 50/60 Hz).
- For PL T-12684 (PL TBL V111 ), it is suggested to use an LED fixture less than 150W (when diming to minimum, the power needs to be less than 25W).
- For PLT-12949 (PLTBLV211), it is suggested to use an LED fixture less than 240W (when dimming to minimum, the power needs to be less than 35W).
- For PL T-12685 (PL TBL V311 ), it is suggested to use an LED fixture less than 300W.
- Do not mount near gas or electric heaters.
- Do not use this emergency driver with accessory equipment other than what is recommended by the manufacturer. The use of accessory equipment not recommended by the manufacturer may cause unsafe conditions and void the warranty.
- Use with grounded, UL listed, indoor dry, damp, or wet location rated fixtures. The case should also be grounded.
- This product is for use with indoor fixtures only. Do NOT use near heated air handling outlets or hazardous locations.
- Illuminated Indicator (LED light) means battery is in charge mode when AC power is applied. It is recommended and required by applicable code to test emergency function to ensure proper operation of the system. Conduct a ninety-minute (90) discharge test one time (1) per year. The LED light source should be illuminated for a minimum of ninety minutes (90).
- Customers are advised to charge emergency LED driver 24 hours every 6 months during storage.
- The emergency battery requires a minimum charge of one (1) hour before testing the circuit. A full charge requires twenty-four (24) hours.
NOTICE
- Battery is a rechargeable Li-ion type and must be recycled or disposed of properly.
- Equipment should be mounted in locations and at heights where it will not be subjected to tampering by unauthorized personnel.
- Suitable for use in 41° F -122° F ambient temperatures. Max. mounting height: 48.65ft.
Mounting Methods
NOTE: PLT-12684 & PLT-12949 use M10-rod. PLT-12685 uses 1/2″-rod. All three use the ring bolt.
Installation Instructions
Step #1: Notice
- Disconnect all power sources to the lighting fixture and ensure they are locked out during installation and maintenance.
- Select a suitable location on the ceiling for proper mounting of LED emergency driver (battery).
Step #2: Installation for Chain or Cable Mount
- Install the ring bolt to the top threaded hold of the LED emergency driver and secure the ring bolt with the supplied screw.
- Install the M10-rod/1/2″-rod to the bottom thread hole of the LED emergency driver and secure it with the supplied screw.
- Attach the LED emergency driver to the UFO high bay fixture using the accessory from step
- until a tight and secure fit has been achieved.
- Open the LED emergency cover and remove the plastic covers and install the waterproof connectors (5pcs).
Step #3: Wiring
Pull all wires through the waterproof connectors and into the cavity of the emergency driver.
- Connect the AC output wires (Brown, Blue, and Green) of the emergency driver with the AC input wires of the LED high bay fixture.
- Connect the dimming output wires (Purple and Pink) of the emergency driver with the dimming input wires of the LED driver.
- Connect AC input wires (Black, White, and Red) of the emergency driver with AC main power cord.
- Connect the input dimming wires (Purple, Pink) of the emergency driver with the dimming wires from the dimmer.
- Close and lock the emergency driver and secure shut using screw.
Make sure all connections have been made in accordance with the manufacturer’s installation details.
Step #4: Testing
- After installation is complete, apply AC power.
- At this point, the power should be connected to the fixture driver and the emergency LED driver. The charging indicator light should be illuminated, indicating the LED emergency driver (battery) is charging.
- A short-term discharge test may be conducted after the emergency LED driver has been charging for 1 hour. Charge for 24 hours before conducting a long-term discharge test.

- Green ON: Charging mode
- Green OFF: discharging mode
After installation is complete, and AC power is on, click the test switch button to switch the device into emergency mode. This should last 3 seconds, then it will automatically return to its normal working mode of AC power supply.
