Product Usage Instructions
DMX Recording Mode:
- Direct Recording: Record external DMX signals through the DMX IN port. Select Record ID (1-255) and press the ENTER button to start recording.
- Standby Recording: Switch to recording mode and wait for the DMX signal to trigger the start of recording.
DMX Playback Mode:
Play recorded DMX programs directly through the device. Select the Record ID (1-255) and press the ENTER button to start or stop playing the show.
External Device Integration:
Unlock advanced control using external devices such as DMX consoles, computer software, or mobile apps for real-time management of lighting effects.
Dual-Channel Control:
Operate with two channels for precise control over DMX settings. Channel 1 (Range 1-255) for different recorded programs, Channel 2 for dimming control.

Three Modes
DMX Recording Mode
- Direct Recording:
Record external DMX signals directly through the DMX IN port. Simply select the Record ID(1-255) and start recording.
- Standby Recording:
Ideal for multiple DMX Recorders recording simultaneously. Switch to recording mode and wait for the DMX signal to automatically triggerthe start of recording.
DMX Playback Mode
- Manual Playback Control:
Play recorded DMX programs directly through the device.
- External Device Control: Unlock advanced control of your DMX Recorder and Playback Controller, DR & PB MINI, using a variety of external devices including DMX consoles, computer software or mobile apps. This integration allows real-time management of lighting effects, enhancing operational flexibility and enabling precise adjustments from any location—idealfor live performances and various events.
- Dual-Channel Control:
Our controller operates with two channels, enabling precise control over your DMX settings:
DMX Personality- Channel 1: Range 1~255, with each number representing a different recorded program.
- Channel 2: Range 1~255, used for dimming control.
- DMX Address Selection:
- Access the Address Setting: On the display shown in the left image, navigate to the “DMX Address” option.
- Set the Address: For example, setting the DMX address to 2 configures the controller to operate on DMX channels 2 and 3 Setting the DMX address to 511 allows the controller to operate on DMX channels 511 and 512

Packet Loss Detection Mode
This mode tests the integrity of the DMX data flow in your lighting system. Perform the test using one or two units to ensure your setup is stable and reliable
Single Unit Test:
Start a packet loss test by pressing ‘ENTER’ to send a set amount of data. Press ‘ENTER’ again to stop. Then, compare the number of packets sent to the number received on the unit’s display. Any difference indicates a system issue.
Dual Units Test:
Start the packet loss test by connecting the transmitter’s DMX OUT to the first unit and the receiver’s DMX IN to the second unit. On the first unit, press ‘ENTER’ to begin transmitting data and press ‘ENTER’ again to end the transmission. Then, on the second unit, check and compare the number of packets received to the number sent from the first unit. Any discrepancies between the counts indicate a communication problem between the units.

- Program Storage:
Recorded programs are saved as .dmx files on the SD card. Each file name corresponds to the recorded ID. - Backup and Transfer:
These files can be backed up and copied to other identical devices for easy transfer and duplication.
