Charge the built-in battery:
The portable radio is powered by a built-in rechargeable
battery. To charge the battery:
- Connect the TYPE-C socket on the portable radio to a 5V, 2A
  outlet using the provided TYPE-C cable.
- When charging, the icon ‘ ‘ will be displayed. Once fully
  charged, the icon ‘ ‘ will show.

Adjust volume:
To adjust volume while listening, rotate the knob on the
radio.
Adjust display brightness:
To adjust display brightness:
1. Press the menu button.
2. Select [Display] using the knob or buttons.
3. Select [Backlight level] and choose brightness level (High,
  Medium, Low).
4. Exit the menu by pressing the corresponding button.

3 Get started

Always follow the instructions in this chapter in sequence.
Charge the built-in battery
The portable radio is powered by a built-in rechargeable battery.
Note · An icon ‘ ‘ is shown when the battery power is low.
Please recharge the built-in battery as soon as possible.
Connect the TYPE-C socket on the portable radio to an outlet (5V 2A) by using the provided TYPE-C cable.

· Press to turn the unit on. The radio switches to the last selected source.
· Press to switch the unit to Standby.
Note · Bluetooth device not connected for more than 15 minutes
or connected but not playing, the radio switches to standby mode automatically.
· In any mode, press and hold for three seconds to turn
off the unit directly. The display screen turns off.

Adjust volume
While listening, rotate the knob to adjust volume.

When the portable radio is being charged, the icon ‘ ‘ is shown. When the portable radio is fully charged, the icon ‘ ‘ is shown.
Note
· Please note that your device contains built-in lithium
batteries. The charging capacity of lithium batteries will decrease over time due to their self-discharge characteristics. To ensure the longevity of your device’s battery, we recommend charging the built-in lithium battery to around 50% every 6 months when the device is not in use.

Adjust display brightness
1 Press to access menu. 2 Turn the rotary knob or press / to select
[Display], and then press SELECT to conrm. 3 Turn the rotary knob or press / to select
[Backlight level], and then press SELECT to conrm. 4 Turn the rotary knob or press / to select brightness level (High, Medium, Low) on the display screen, and then press SELECT to conrm. 5 Press to exit the menu.

When the unit is in standby mode, you can access the menu for control options.
1 In standby mode, press to access menu. 2 Turn the rotary knob or press / to select
a menu option, and then press SELECT to conrm the option or enter the lower-level menu.

· If [DAB] or [FM] is selected as the alarm source (default is BUZZER), the Alarm menu will have an additional [Source] option, please use / and SELECT to select DAB or FM preset radio station number.

· The unit exits alarm setting mode after being idle for 30 seconds.
· If DAB/FM is selected as the alarm source but the preset station is not selected, BUZZER is activated automatically.
· Alarm timeout is 60 minutes if there is no user action.

Activate/deactivate alarm timer

1 Press to access menu.

2 Turn the rotary knob or press / to select [Alarm], then press SELECT to conrm.
3 Turn the rotary knob or press / to select [Alarm 1] or [Alarm 2], then press SELECT to
conrm
4 Turn the rotary knob or press / to select [On] or [Off], then press SELECT to conrm

This portable radio can switch to standby mode automatically after the sleep time is set. 1 Turn on the unit. 2 Press to choose sleep time.

Tune to DAB radio stations

Next time when you turn on the radio, the station scan does not take place. 3 All the stations that have been found. Press / to explore the found stations, then press SELECT to conrm. 4 To re-tune, press SCAN for three seconds to perform a quick scan again.

Manual tuning

As well as the auto tune function, you can manually tune the receiver. This can help you when aligning your aerial or when adding stations that were missed during auto tuning.

to access DAB menu.

2 Turn the rotary knob or press / to select

[Manual tune], then press SELECT to conrm.

3 Turn the rotary knob or press / to cycle through the DAB channels, which are

numbered from 5A to13F, then press

SELECT to conrm.

The unit will show the frequency and

start to scan.

Store DAB radio stations
Note
· You can manually store a maximum of 20 DAB radio
stations.

1 In DAB mode, tune to a DAB radio station.

2 Press and hold

for three seconds to

activate programming mode.

Preset list shows on the screen.

the number.

4 Press SELECT to store preset station.

5 “Preset xx Stored” shows on the screen.

6 Repeat steps 1 to 5 to store more DAB radio stations.

· To remove a pre-stored station, store another station

8 Listen to Bluetooth®
music

Note
· The operational range between the unit and the device is approximately 25 metres (open area).
· Compatibility with all Bluetooth® devices is not guaranteed. · Any obstacle between the device and the unit can reduce
operational range. · Keep this unit away from other electronic devices that
may cause interference. · The unit will also be disconnected when your device is
moved beyond the operational range.

Connect Bluetooth®
1 Press to select Bluetooth mode. [Not Connected] will appear.
2 On your Bluetooth device, switch on Bluetooth, search for [Philips TAV2000DB] to start connection. If connected successfully: You will hear a prompt sound. [Connected] will appear.

Disconnect Bluetooth®

· Switch to another source on the unit; · Disable the function from your Bluetooth®
device;
or
Press and hold for three seconds to disconnect Bluetooth connection. If disconnected successfully:
You will hear a prompt sound. [Pairing] will appear.

to access Bluetooth menu.

2 Press SELECT to select [Bluetooth pair].

3 Turn the rotary knob or press / to select
[Yes] (disconnect the Bluetooth and enter pairing state),then press SELECT to conrm.

Clear Bluetooth® pairing records

[Yes] to disconnect current connection or select [No] to keep connection, then press SELECT to conrm.

Play music
When playing music on your Bluetooth® device, you can use this unit to control the music playback. · Press SELECT to pause/resume playback. · Press / to skip to a track. · Rotate the knob to adjust the volume.

9 Kitchen timer setting

Note · The unit exits menu setting when idle for 30 seconds.

Set kitchen timer

1 Press to turn on the unit.

2 Press to access menu.

3 Turn the rotary knob or press / to select [Kitchen timer], then press SELECT to conrm.

4 Turn the rotary knob or press / to select [Kitchen timer setup], then press SELECT to conrm.

The hour digits blink.

5 Turn the rotary knob or press / to set the hour, and then press SELECT to conrm.

The minute digits blink.

6 Turn the rotary knob or press / to set the minute, and then press SELECT to conrm. The second digits blink.
7 Turn the rotary knob or press / to set the second, and then press SELECT to conrm.

8 Turn the rotary knob or press / to select [On/Off], then press SELECT to conrm.

9 Turn the rotary knob or press / to select [On] (activate) or [Off] (deactivate) the kitchen timer, and then press SELECT to conrm.

10 Press to return to the previous menu.

The icon and kitchen timer appear.

Stop kitchen timer sounds
When the kitchen timer rings, press any key to stop the buzzer.
Cancel the kitchen timer
1 If you want to cancel the kitchen timer, press to access menu.
2 Turn the rotary knob or press / to select [Kitchen timer], then press SELECT to conrm.
3 Turn the rotary knob or press / to select [On/Off], then press select to conrm.
4 Turn the rotary knob or press / to select [Off], then press SELECT to conrm.
5 Press to exit the menu.
Note
· The kitchen timer can only be cancelled when the unit is
turned on.

Note
· Kitchen timer timeout is 60 minutes if there is no user
action.
