INTRODUCTION
This ultra low noise 1U 19” microphone splitter provides eight balanced XLR input channels each with two transformer isolated balanced XLR outputs.
For extra versatility, the front panel LINK switches allow you to route a single input signal to multiple outputs, e.g. to simultaneously feed FOH, monitor, recording and broadcast mixing consoles. Alternatively, they let you merge two input signals into a single output or sum L and R stereo signals to mono. In addition, each channel features a ground lift switch to eliminate hum and interference.
- CHANNEL INPUT WITH GROUND LIFT SWITCH
In the up position, this switch breaks the ground connection between the channel’s XLR input and outputs. This eliminates hum and interference caused by ground loops resulting from electronic equipment connected to the channel’s input and outputs. - LINK SWITCH
In the down position, the LINK switches combine channels 1+2, 3+4, 5+6 and 7+8 respectively. This doubles the number of outputs for a single input or lets you merge the channel pairs’ input signals into a single output signal, e.g. for mono summing stereo signals. - CHANNEL OUTPUTS
The LINK OUT delivers the respective channel’s direct input signal while the OUT connector provides a transformer isolated signal.
NOTE: Phantom power to condenser microphones or DI boxes must be provided by equipment connected to the LINK ouputs. Because of the use of transformers, the isolated outputs cannot pass phantom power to the channels’ inputs.
