Product Information

The TPMS Sending Unit, Repeater, and Harness Installation kit is
designed for trailer applications. It includes components such as
TireView LIVE Sending Unit, Repeater, Wire Harnesses, Hardware Bag,
Cable Ties, and Decals.

Installation Instructions

Step 1: Mounting Location Identification

Identify a suitable mounting location for the sending unit and
repeater. Ensure the power source location is considered. It is
recommended to mount the gateway and repeater at least 4 feet from
each other to optimize performance.

Suspension Placement

Install the repeater to ensure proper operation of the system.
Avoid mounting components and wiring above the slider rail if the
trailer is equipped with a slider box to prevent damage during
suspension movement.

Sending Unit Placement

Recommended placement locations include suspension cross member,
lift gate housing, or battery box. Avoid mounting the gateway where
tires can throw debris onto the enclosure.

Step 2: Mounting the Sending Unit

Use the sending unit as a template to mark mounting hole
locations and drill with a 3/8 drill bit. Attach the sending unit
to the vehicle using supplied bolts, washers, and locknuts. Torque
the mounting bolts to 8-10 ft.-lbs.

Caution:

Utilize a strain relief cable tie with a drip loop configuration
when mounting the sending unit. Ensure the Weather Pack connector
faces downward for proper installation.

For Battery Backup Sending Unit:

Ensure the connector points down and create a drip loop with the
harness for correct installation.

TPMS Sending Unit, Repeater and Harness Installation
Trailer Applications

Installation Steps
1. Identify suitable mounting location for the TireView LIVE (TVL) sending unit and repeater. See Figure 1.
NOTE: Location of the power source may impact the mounting location of the sending unit and repeater. Identify location of 5-pin ABS connector or lift gate battery prior to mounting the gateway. It is recommended to mount the gateway and repeater at least 4 feet from each other.

Suspension Placement

CAUTION: The repeater must be installed to help ensure proper operation of the TireView system. Failure to install the repeater could void warranty.
CAUTION: if trailer is equipped with slider box, all components and wiring must be mounted below the slider rail to avoid damage when suspension is moved.
Sending unit
RECOMMENDED PLACEMENT: on suspension cross member, lift gate housing, or battery box.
CAUTION: Do not mount gateway where tires can throw debris onto enclosure as this could cause damage.

CAUTION: Make sure location is suitable to route power wire harness to the gateway.
2. Using the TVL sending unit as a template, mark mounting hole locations and drill with a 3/8″ drill bit. See Figure 2.
3. Use supplied bolts, washers, and locknuts to attach sending unit to vehicle.
TORQUE mounting bolts to 8-10 ft.-lbs.
CAUTION: When mounting Sending Unit, you must utilize a strain relief cable tie with drip loop configuration and ensure the Weather Pack connector is facing downward. See Figure 3.

Repeater

RECOMMENDED PLACEMENT: on the suspension near the tires being monitored. See Figures 1 & 5.

CAUTION: Avoid mounting the repeater where it is surrounded by metal (i.e., inside a cross member). This can prevent sensor signals from reaching the sending unit and will cause loss of data.
4. Mount the repeater using cable ties (included), bolts, or rivets. Repeater harness should be secured to factory wire harness or air lines with supplied cable ties and route towards the battery box. See Figure 5.
Wire Harness Connection
5. Locate the round 5-pin connector that supplies power to the ABS module. Unplug connector and install supplied harness in-line. See Figure 6.
6. If connecting to lift gate battery, connect ring terminals of the harness to the battery terminals, ensuring positive (+) and negative (-) leads are on correct terminals. See Figure 7.
7. Connect one lead of the harness to the Weather Pack connector on the sending unit harness, and the second lead of the harness to the Weather Pack connector on the repeater. Secure excess harness using supplied cable ties. Verify 2A fuse is installed in wiring harness fuse holder.

Figure 5 Figure 6

NOTE: The supplied wire harness has 2 preterminated Weather Pack connectors. One lead is longer than the other, but the connectors are electrically the same. Use the proper length lead for each component. See Figure 7.
8. Secure harness to factory wire harness or air lines with supplied cable ties.
