Installation

Removing and Inserting The Memory Card

Insert the memory card
Ensure the camera is turned off.
Hold the memory card in the orientation shown, slide it into the card slot until you hear a click.

Remove the memory card
Ensure that the camera is turned off, and then push the edge of the memory card with your fingernail. The card will spring out far enough to be removed.

Format the memory card
The memory card must be formatted before first use.

To format the microSD card in the camera:
Pause recording first, press OLYVUE-V66-Dash-Camera-FIG-8 the button to enter camera menu settings, scroll down to find the “Format” option, and press OK to format the memory card.

Note

  1. We suggest you use the microSD card included as it fits the camera well and can work for long term.
  2. Please be aware that memory cards have their own lifespan. After extensive use of continuous data writing, they may become inoperable. When it stops working, please choose a microSD card that has a Class-10 or UHS-I rating and a capacity is up to 512GB.
  3. We suggest formatting the card periodically to ensure the best performance of the camera. Formatting the card will erase all data permanently, please back up important data beforehand.
  4. Please do not take the card out when the camera is recording in case of important video files are missing.

Install The GPS Mount

  1. Push the GPS mount into the main unit.
  2. Attach the double-sided adhesive tape to the bracket and tear off the protective film.OLYVUE-V66-Dash-Camera-FIG-9

Install Static Sticker

  1. Wipe clean the surface of the windscreen before installation.
  2. Peel the blue sign protective film off the static sticker, then attach the sticker to the windscreen. Press it for a few seconds, making sure no bubbles are left.
  3. Peel the protection film off the sticky pad on the mount, and attach it To the sticker. Press the camera hard for a few seconds, making sure it is attached firmly.

Front Camera

  1. Select a location on the windshield behind the rear-view mirror where the camera will not obstruct the driver’s view while driving.OLYVUE-V66-Dash-Camera-FIG-10
  2. Wipe clean the installation surface of the windscreen with a dry cloth, it must be grease free for the sticky pad to stick firmly.
  3. Mount the dashcam directly to the windshield with the sticky pad, or attach the static sticker to the selected location before installation (refer to last step 2.3).
  4. Peel the protection film off the sticky pad and camera lens.
  5. Fix the camera on the selected location.

Rear Camera (For V77 / V78 Only)

  1. Select an installation location on the windscreen, without defrost grid wires, and where the camera can record the entire rear view.
  2. Wipe clean the installation surface of the windscreen with a dry cloth.

  4. Fix the rear camera on the selected location.
  5. Power off the product and connect the rear camera cable to the front camera (main unit). Cable routing should be as shown in the following two diagrams.OLYVUE-V66-Dash-Camera-FIG-13

Basic Functions

Loop Recording: 1 / 2 Minutes.
Recording will begin automatically after powering on with a microSD card in the device. Each recorded file is one minute long as a default and the old footage will be replaced when microSD card storage is full.

Emergency Recording

Automatic emergency recording
when the G-sensor is activated by a collision, the current footage will be locked automatically to avoid being overwritten by loop recording.

Manual emergency recording
Pressing the OLYVUE-V66-Dash-Camera-FIG-14 button during a recording will lock the current file being recorded. Once locked, the file will not be overwritten by the loop recording feature.

Note: Collision detection sensitivity can be adjusted in settings under the “G-sensor” option.

Power On / Off
When you start the engine, the camera will turn on and start recording automatically.
When you turn off the engine or unplug the charging cable from the power adapter, the camera will stop recording and turn off. With power connected, long-pressing press OLYVUE-V66-Dash-Camera-FIG-15 button will power off the camera; long-pressing press OLYVUE-V66-Dash-Camera-FIG-15 button will also power on the camera.

Disable / Enable Audio Recording

Pressing the OLYVUE-V66-Dash-Camera-FIG-16 button once to turn off / on audio recording.

Parking Mode
There are 3 options for parking mode.

Timelapse Recording
The dashcam will record video from frames captured at specific time intervals to conserve memory and reduce the time it takes to review video.

Impact Detection
With car parked, once the camera detects any collision or vibration, it will automatically turn on and record 30s locked video and then switch to standby mode to save power. The screen will stay off in standby mode. The detection sensitivity can be set as low/medium/high

Time-lapse + Impact Detection

With the engine turned off, the dashcam will record in time-lapse mode as default. Once the camera detects any collision or vibration, it will automatically switch to emergency recording and record 60s locked video, after which it will switch to time-lapse recording.

Note: Parking mode provides surveillance of your parked vehicle only when the engine is off and the hardwire kit shall be wired to provide continuous power. The hardwire kit also protects your car battery from being drained. The hardwire kit is sold separately.

Menu Settings

  • Resolution: 4K 30fps / 2K 60fps / 1080P 30fps
  • Codec: H.265 / H.264
  • Loop Recording: 1 / 2 mins
    Recording will begin automatically after powering on with a microSD card in the device. Each recorded file is one minute long as default and the old footage will be replaced when the microSD card storage is full.
  • HDR: on / off
    The default setting is on. The multi-exposure HDR technique helps automatically balance the lighting in over-bright and over-dark areas to avoid over-exposure issues, especially at night.
  • Timelapse: off / 1s / 2s / 3s / 5s / 10s
    Under parking mode, the dashcam will record video from frames captured at specific time intervals to conserve memory and reduce the time it takes to review video.
  • License: on / off
    Imprint the car number on the recorded videos.
  • Audio Record: on / off
    The default setting is on. This can also be changed during recording by pressing the microphone buttonOLYVUE-V66-Dash-Camera-FIG-16.
  • Date Stamp: on / off
    Imprint the date & time info on the recorded videos.
  • G-Sensor: off / low/middle / high
    The G-sensor measures shock forces and locks the video recorded at the time. The settings from low to high determine the amount of force needed to lock the file from being overwritten. We recommend that you set it at low.
  • Parking Mode G-sensor: off / low/medium/high.
    With car parked, once the cam detects any collision or vibration, it will automatically turn on and record a locked video. The detection sensitivity can be set as low/medium / high.
  • Auto Power Off: off / 1 / 3 / 5 mins.
    Set the time to automatically turn off the dashcam if it is not recording.
  • Screen Saver: off / 1 / 3 / 5 mins.
    The screen goes black while recording under 1 / 3 / 5 mins setting and the screen will always stay on with setting “ off”.
  • Frequency: 50Hz / 60 Hz.
    Set it to minimize flickering and banding in the recorded video.
  • USB Mode: charge / USB storage.
    USB storage mode- connect the dash cam to your PC in USB storage mode, your PC can read the data of microSD card. Charger mode- only for charging.
  • Speaker: mute/low/middle/high.
    The default setting is Middle. Adjust the audio volume of recorded videos while playing back.
  • Boot Sound: on / off.
    This setting controls the startup sound when turning on / off the dash cam.
  • Key Sound: on / off.
    It turns on / off the sound when you press the buttons.
  • Snap Sound: on / off.
    It turns on / off the sound when it captures a photo.
  • Language: English
  • Date / Time: Set system date/time
  • Time Zone: Set the current time zone for GPS time and date calibration.
  • Speed Unit: Kilometer per hour (KMH) and miles per hour (MPH) are available for speed units.
  • GPS Test: For manufacturing test purpose only.
  • Speed Calibration: Allow you to manually correct the speed value in case the data generated by the GPS is not accurate enough.
  • Wi-Fi Frequency Band: 5GHz / 2.4GHz
    We recommend choosing 5GHz Wi-Fi mode for faster downloading speed.
  • Wi-Fi App: on / off.
    It turns on/off Wi-Fi for the connection with the Olyvue APP.
  • Format: The operation will erase all data on the microSD card.

Note: Once you format the card, all information will be deleted and unrecoverable. Make sure to back up all the important files beforehand.

  • Default: Restore device to factory settings.
  • Version: Check the current firmware version of the camera.

Please scan the QR code below to download Olyvue APP and install it for Wi-Fi connection, or you may search for the Olyvue app in App Store or Google Play Store directly to download and install it on your smartphone.

Note: After this camera is successfully connected to your mobile phone through Wi-Fi, it can perform real-time video preview, change camera settings, download files without internet connection, and playback videos on the mobile phone. However, the GPS track playback and video sharing functions will depend on the internet or telecom value-added services (requires you to turn off / disconnect the camera Wi-Fi).

Wi-Fi Connection
Turn on the Wi-Fi in the menu or long-press OLYVUE-V66-Dash-Camera-FIG-8 the button. When the Wi-Fi is on, Wi-Fi name (SSID) and the password will appear on the camera display.
After Turning on the Wi-Fi function of the camera, enter the Wi-Fi settings of the mobile phone, then find the Wi-Fi name, such as “Olyvue” and enter the Wi-Fi default password: 12345678 to connect it to the APP.

APP Connection
After the Wi-Fi connection is successful, click “Add recorder” when opening the app for the first time, Add the camera model, and then the app will automatically connect to the camera and display the current real-time recording situation of the camera.
