Charging the Product
Use the provided USB-C Charging Cable to connect to the USB-C Charging Port on the device. Ensure the device is powered off during charging. The OLED Display may show charging status. Once fully charged, disconnect the cable.

Powering On/Off
To power on the device, press and hold the Power Button for a few seconds until the device activates. To power off, repeat the same step.

Adjusting Brightness Levels
Press the Customizable Button to cycle through different brightness levels – HIGH, MID, LOW, ULTRALOW. Choose the desired brightness level for your needs.

Activating Strobe Mode
To activate the STROBE mode, double-click the Customizable Button while the device is on. This mode emits a high-intensity flashing light for signaling or emergencies.

FAQ

Q: Can I use a different charging cable?
A: It is recommended to use the original USB-C Charging Cable provided with the product to ensure safe and efficient charging.
Q: How often should I recharge the product when not in use?
A: It is advisable to recharge the product every 6 months when left unused for an extended period to maintain battery health.

Warning

This product is intended for use by adults aged 18 and over. Please keep this product out of the reach of children.
CAUTION! Possible dangerous radiation! DO NOT stare directly into the light beam or shine the light directly into the eyes of anyone!
The product will generate massive heat during prolonged operation. Please exercise caution during use. It is recommended not to activate high brightness levels for extended periods to prevent burns.

DO NOT cover or place objects near the head of the product, as this may cause damage to the product or accidents due to high temperatures.
DO NOT use the product to illuminate flammable or explosive materials, as the high heat may lead to combustion or explosion.
Please use the product in a standard handheld manner to avoid accidents in the event of product failure.

When the product is placed in an enclosed or flammable environment such as a pocket or backpack, or when it is left unused for an extended period, please turn off the product and activate Full Lockout Mode to avoid accidental activation and dangers caused by excessive heat.
DO NOT expose the product to temperatures above 60°C (140°F) for prolonged time, as this poses a risk of battery explosion or combustion.
Use the original charging cable for power supply.

Please recharge the product every 6 months when left unused for a prolonged time.
DO NOT disassemble or modify this product as doing so will cause damage to it and render the product warranty invalid. Please refer to the warranty section in the manual for complete warranty information.

Battery Safety
Improper use of devices with built-in Li-ion batteries may result in severe battery damage or safety hazards such as combustion or explosion. DO NOT use the device if it is damaged. DO NOT disassemble, puncture, cut, crush, or incinerate the device. If any leakage or abnormal odor is noticed, stop using the device immediately. Dispose of the device/batteries in accordance with applicable local laws and regulations.

Charging Function

Warranty Details

All NITECORE® products are warranted for quality. Any DOA / defective product can be exchanged for a replacement through a local distributor/dealer within 15 days of purchase. After that, all defective / malfunctioning NITECORE® products can be repaired free of charge within 24 months from the date of purchase. Beyond 24 months, a limited warranty applies, covering the cost of labor and maintenance, but not the cost of accessories or replacement parts. The warranty will be nullified if

the product(s) is/are broken down, reconstructed and/or modified by unauthorized parties;
the product(s) is/are damaged due to improper use.

Charging Function
The EDC29 is equipped with an intelligent charging system. Please charge the flashlight before first use. As illustrated, use the USB cable to connect an external power supply (e.g. a USB adapter, a power bank or other USB charging devices) to the USB port to begin the charging process.

During the charging process, the screen will show the battery charging process.

When the battery is fully charged, the screen will display a full progress bar.
SEARCH / LUMIN SHIELD™ / STROBE is unavailable during the charging process.
The charging time is approx. 1 hour 15 minutes. (Charged via the 5V/2A adapter)

When fully charged, the standby time is approx. 12 months.

Multifunctional OLED Display
The EDC29 is equipped with a multifunctional OLED display. (Please remove the screen protector before the first use.) When the light is turned on, the screen will successively show the current info (Brightness Level & Lumens, Runtime Remaining) before it goes out. After the screen goes out, half pressing the Power Button can reactivate the screen.

Note:

When SEARCH / LUMIN SHIELD™ is activated, the screen will display a progress bar going backward.
If the customizable button is still held down after the progress bar is emptied, the flashlight will automatically switch to HIGH, and the display will turn off.
Releasing the Customizable Button will return the flashlight to its previous status, and the progress bar will appear and gradually return to full.

The recovery time of the progress bar depends on the temperature of the flashlight. If the temperature of the flashlight is too high, the progress bar may pause its recovery. During the recovery process, half pressing the Power Button will exit the progress bar display.

Tactical Momentary Illumination

When the light is off, half press and hold down the Power Button to access ULTRALOW. Release to turn it off.

When the light is off, half press and hold down the Customizable Button to access SEARCH. Release to turn it off.
When the light is off, full press and hold down the Customizable Button to access LUMIN SHIELD™ / STROBE. Release to turn it off.

On / Off

On: When the light is off, full press the Power Button to turn it on.
Off: When the light is on, full press the Power Button to turn it off.

Brightness Levels
When the light is on, half press the Power Button to cycle through “ULTRALOW – LOW – MID – HIGH”. The flashlight has a memory function. When reactivated, it will automatically access the previous memorized brightness level.

Level Preset Function
The EDC29 features a preset brightness level function. When the light is off, half press the Power Button to activate the screen. Additional half presses of the Power Button will sequentially display the brightness level and lumens of ULTRALOW, LOW, MID, and HIGH. Once the desired brightness level is displayed, full press the Power Button to activate it.

Customizable Function
The customizable function allows users to switch between LUMIN SHIELD™ and STROBE based on their personal needs.

On / Off: When the light is on / off, full press and hold down the Customizable Button to access LUMIN SHIELD™ / STROBE. Release to return to the previous status.

Switching: When the light is on / off, full press and hold down the Customizable Button, then full press the Power Button to switch between LUMIN SHIELD™ and STROBE. The flashlight has a memory function. When reactivated, it will automatically access the previous memorized setting.

Note: When LUMIN SHIELD™ / STROBE is activated, the flashlight will automatically adjust the brightness to prevent overheating and prolong the lifespan of the flashlight. To restore the previous brightness, simply reactivate LUMIN SHIELD™ / STROBE.

Direct Access to SEARCH
When the light is on / off, half press and hold down the Customizable Button to directly access SEARCH. Release to turn it off.

Lockout / Unlock

The EDC29 has two lockout modes (Semi Lockout Mode and Full Lockout Mode).

Semi Lockout Mode (Lockout 1):

When the light is on / off, while half / full pressing and holding down the Customizable Button, slide the Lockout Switch (Rapid Lock™) up. Release the button when the SEMI LOCK icon appears on the screen to confirm Semi Lockout Mode is activated.
In Semi Lockout Mode, the Power Button is unavailable to activate the flashlight.

In Semi Lockout Mode, half press and hold down the Customizable Button to access SEARCH; full press and hold down the Customizable Button to access LUMIN SHIELD™ / STROBE.

Note: To enter Full Lockout Mode, slide down the Lockout Switch (Rapid Lock™) to unlock, then turn on the flashlight and slide the Lockout Switch (Rapid Lock™) up. Semi Lockout Mode will be automatically deactivated, and the flashlight will enter Full Lockout Mode directly.

Full Lockout Mode (Lockout 2) (Default Setting):

When the light is on / off, slide the Lockout Switch (Rapid Lock™) up and the FULL LOCK icon will appear on the screen to confirm Full Lockout Mode is activated.
When in Full Lockout Mode, both buttons are unavailable to activate the flashlight.

Unlock:
In either Lockout Mode, slide down the Lockout Switch (Rapid Lock™) to exit Lockout Mode.

ATR (Advanced Temperature Regulation)
The integrated ATR technology regulates the output of the EDC29 according to the working condition and ambient environment to maintain the optimal performance.

Sensor Protection Function
When the flashlight is off, if there is an obstruction near the light outlet and the flashlight accidentally accesses HIGH, the flashlight brightness will automatically decrease to 400 lumens to prevent overheating and prolong the lifespan of the flashlight. Once the obstruction is removed, the flashlight will return to the previous brightness level.

Off: The protective sensor is automatically enabled when the flashlight is powered on. Once activated, the sensor can be temporarily disabled by briefly half pressing the Power Button.

Note:

The protective sensor only detects obstacles when the flashlight is directly powered on to HIGH. If the light is already on, the sensor remains disabled until the light is turned off. Covering the light outlet after the light is on will not activate the sensor protection.
It is important to keep the front lens clean to ensure that the built-in sensor functions properly to achieve its optimal performance.

The sensitivity of the sensor may differ due to variations in the color and material of obstructions.
