System Setup

Carefully read the following warnings before setup or use of BEE-001 system. SAVE THESE INSTRUCTIONS. If this product will be used by children, these instructions should be read and explained to them by an adult. Failing to do so may cause injury. Please also carefully review the information for the game you are playing, and review any additional health and safety information for that game. Nintendo may update this information from time to time and will post the updated version at:  support.nintendo.com/device/agreements
Throughout these instructions, you will see this Warning-icon.png symbol followed by WARNING or CAUTION, or you may see the term NOTICE. These terms have different levels of meaning as outlined below. Please read and understand these terms and the information that appears after them before using your BEE-001 system.
WARNING: Warns you about incorrect use of this system that could result in serious personal injury.
CAUTION: Cautions you about incorrect use of this system that could result in personal injury or damage to the system, components, games, or accessories.
NOTICE: Informs you about incorrect use of the system that could result in damage to the system, components, games, or accessories.

Warning-icon.png WARNING — SEIZURES

  • Some people (about 1 in 4,000) may have seizures or blackouts triggered by light flashes or patterns, and this may occur while they are watching or playing video games or watching TV or video programming, even if they have never had a seizure before.
  • Anyone who has had a seizure, loss of awareness, or other symptom linked to an epileptic condition should consult a qualified health professional before watching or playing video games or watching TV or video programming.
  • STOP PLAYING OR WATCHING AND CONSULT A QUALIFIED HEALTH PROFESSIONAL IF YOU OR YOUR CHILD HAS ANY OF THE FOLLOWING SYMPTOMS DURING OR AFTER PLAYING OR WATCHING:

• Convulsions
• Eye or muscle twitching
• Altered vision
• Involuntary movements
• Loss of awareness
• Disorientation
To reduce the likelihood of a seizure when playing or watching video games or watching TV or video programming:

  1. Sit or stand as far from the screen as possible.
  2. Play on the smallest available television screen.
  3. Do not play if you are tired or need sleep.
  4. Play in a well-lit place.
  5. Take a 10-to-15-minute break every hour.

■ Parents should supervise their children while they watch or play video games or watch TV or video programming to monitor for the symptoms mentioned above.

Warning-icon.png WARNING — REPETITIVE-MOTION INJURIES AND EYESTRAIN
Watching or playing video games or watching TV or video programming can make a player’s muscles, joints, skin, or eyes hurt. Follow these instructions to avoid problems such as tendinitis, carpal tunnel syndrome, skin irritation, or eyestrain:
■ Avoid excessive playing or watching. Parents should supervise their children for appropriate play time and watch time.
■ Take or have your child take a 10-to-15-minute break at least every hour, even if you don’t think you or they need it.
■ If you or your child’s hands, wrists, arms, or eyes become tired or sore while playing, or if you or your child feel symptoms such as throbbing, aching, tingling, numbness, burning, or stiffness, stop and rest for several hours before playing again. IF YOU OR YOUR CHILD CONTINUE TO HAVE ANY OF THESE SYMPTOMS OR OTHER DISCOMFORT DURING OR AFTER PLAYING OR WATCHING, STOP PLAYING OR WATCHING, AND SEE A QUALIFIED HEALTH PROFESSIONAL. Parents should supervise their children while they watch or play video games or watch TV or video programming to monitor for these symptoms.
Warning-icon.png CAUTION — MOTION SICKNESS
Playing or watching video games or watching TV or video programming can cause motion sickness in some players. If you or your child feels dizzy or nauseous when playing or watching video games, stop playing and rest. Do not drive or engage in other demanding activity until you feel better.
Warning-icon.png WARNING — CONTAINS MAGNETS — PACEMAKERS AND OTHER IMPLANTED MEDICAL DEVICES
Parts of BEE-001 and accessories are magnetic. The magnets contained in BEE-001 and accessories may keep nearby pacemakers and other implanted medical devices from functioning properly. IF YOU HAVE A PACEMAKER OR OTHER IMPLANTED MEDICAL DEVICE, DO NOT USE BEE-001 OR ACCESSORIES WITHOUT FIRST CONSULTING YOUR QUALIFIED HEALTH PROFESSIONAL OR THE MANUFACTURER OF YOUR PACEMAKER OR OTHER IMPLANTED MEDICAL DEVICE. DO NOT OPERATE BEE-001 OR ACCESSORIES WITHIN 6 INCHES OF A PACEMAKER OR OTHER IMPLANTED MEDICAL DEVICE. If you have any reason to suspect that interference is occurring, immediately turn off your BEE-001 system, and discontinue use of BEE-001 and accessories.
Warning-icon.png WARNING — FIRE OR ELECTRIC SHOCK
To avoid electric shock and fires, as well as damage to your BEE-001system when in use:

  • Plug the AC adapter into an easily accessed standard wall outlet near your BEE-001 system.
  • When connecting the AC adapter to an outlet, be aware of the load capacity of the circuit.
  • Be sure to connect the AC adapter to the correct voltage (100-240V).
  • Use an attachment plug adapter of the proper configuration for the power outlet, if needed.
  • Make sure that the AC adapter plug is fully inserted into the wall outlet or extension cord.
  • Always carefully disconnect all plugs by pulling on the plug and not on the USB-C® charging cable.
  • To avoid damage due to excess voltage, unplug BEE-001 system if not used for an extended period.
  • Please disconnect the AC adapter during a lightning storm. There may be a risk of electric shock from lightning.
  • When cleaning your BEE-001 system, unplug the AC adapter from the power outlet. If you need to clean your AC adapter, do not use liquid or spray cleaners and use a dry cloth.
  • Do not use the AC adapter or USB-C charging cable if it is damaged, and do not use the USB-C charging cable if it has split or broken wires.
  • Make sure there is adequate ventilation around the AC adapter and BEE-001 system and that any air vents on the system are unobstructed.
  • Do not expose the AC adapter or BEE-001 system to extreme heat.
  • Do not expose the AC adapter or BEE-001 system to any type of liquid or high humidity.
  • Do not place objects on top of the USB-C charging cable.
  • Do not place the USB-C charging cable in a location where it could cause you to trip over it.
  • The operating temperature for this product is 41°F–95°F (5–35°C).
  • The AC adapter is a Class II device. If you use a power strip, use one that is compatible with Class II equipment and approved for use in your countory.
  • To minimize the risk of damage to the system, use only Nintendo-licensed AC adapters with your system.

Warning-icon.png WARNING — BATTERY LEAKAGE
BEE-001 system and certain accessories contain rechargeable lithium-ion batteries. Leakage of ingredients contained within the battery, or the combustion products of the ingredients, can cause personal injury, as well as damage to your BEE-001 system. If battery leakage occurs, avoid contact with skin. If contact occurs, immediately wash thoroughly with soap and water. If liquid leaking from a battery comes into contact with your eyes, immediately flush thoroughly with water, and see a qualified health professional.
To avoid battery leakage:

  • Do not expose battery to excessive physical shock, vibration, or liquids.
  • Do not disassemble, attempt to repair, or deform the battery.
  • Do not dispose of battery in a fire.
  • Do not touch the terminals of the battery or cause a short between the terminals with a metal object.

Warning-icon.png WARNING — RADIO FREQUENCY INTERFERENCE — PACEMAKERS AND OTHER IMPLANTED MEDICAL DEVICES

BEE-001 and some accessories connect wirelessly and can emit radio waves that can affect the operation of nearby electronics, including by keeping pacemakers and other implanted medical devices from functioning properly. IF YOU HAVE A PACEMAKER OR OTHER IMPLANTED MEDICAL DEVICE, DO NOT USE BEE-001 OR ACCESSORIES WITHOUT FIRST CONSULTING YOUR QUALIFIED HEALTH PROFESSIONAL OR THE MANUFACTURER OF YOUR PACEMAKER OR OTHER IMPLANTED MEDICAL DEVICE. DO NOT OPERATE BEE-001 OR ACCESSORIES WITHIN 6 INCHES OF A PACEMAKER OR OTHER IMPLANTED MEDICAL DEVICE. If you have any reason to suspect that interference is occurring, immediately turn off your BEE-001 system, and discontinue use of BEE-001 and accessories. Turn off your BEE-001 system in any locations where instructed to do so, and follow all the rules and posted instructions in areas where wireless-network use is prohibited.

Warning-icon.png WARNING — HEARING SAFETY
When using headphones, set the volume at a safe level. Setting the volume too high may harm your hearing or damage the headphones.

Warning-icon.png CAUTION — SYSTEM AND ACCESSORIES PRECAUTIONS AND MAINTENANCE

  • Do not use your BEE-001 system or any accessories if any parts are broken or damaged. Contact Nintendo Customer Service for assistance with any broken or damaged parts.
  • Do not turn off the power, remove the game card, or remove the microSD Express card while data is being read or saved.
  • Do not store BEE-001 system or game cards in a humid place, on the floor, or in any location where they may contact moisture, dirt, dust, lint, or any other foreign material.
  • Do not drop, hit, or otherwise abuse BEE-001 components, game card, or accessories. Doing so may damage the screen or other precision components of BEE-001 or accessories.
  • Make sure all connections to BEE-001 system are made carefully and inserted into the correct locations only.
    Hold plugs straight when inserting them into sockets.
  • When disconnecting any AC adapter from BEE-001 or wall outlet, always carefully pull by the AC adapter itself rather than by the cord.
  • Do not expose BEE-001, game cards, or any of BEE-001 components or accessories to extreme heat or cold.
    BEE-001h display may become slower or may not work when the temperature is low. The screen will deteriorate at a high temperature. Take care not to expose BEE-001 system to direct sunlight for extended periods of time.
  • The screen may be damaged by sharp objects or pressure. Take care to protect the display from scratches or stains.
  • Do not cover any console air intakes or vents while playing or charging, to avoid overheating.
  • To minimize the risk of damage to BEE-001 system, connect only Nintendo-licensed accessories to any external connectors.
  • Do not spill liquids on the console, game cards, or other components or accessories. If liquids get into the system, do not charge the console. Contact Nintendo Customer Service for further instructions.
  • To minimize the risk of image retention or screen burn-in occurring on the screen, do not turn off the system’s default sleep mode settings, and take care to not display the same image on the screen for extended periods of time.
  • Do not peel off the antiscattering adhesive film from the screen of the console.
  • Verify that the areas near your system are free of magnetic objects. Cards with magnetic strips, like credit cards, may become unreadable if they are kept near BEE-001 system.
  • If small metal objects such as screws or tacks become affixed to the magnetic areas on the console or accessories, remove these objects with a cotton swab or soft cloth instead of removing them directly with your fingers. Continuing to use the product without removing such objects could result in damage to the console or accessories or your metal objects.

Warning-icon.png CAUTION — BATTERY PRECAUTIONS
To minimize the risk of damage to BEE-001 system, when recharging the battery, use only Nintendo-licensed AC adapters.
Warning-icon.png NOTICE — GAME CARD PRECAUTIONS AND MAINTENANCE

  • Avoid touching the connectors with your fingers.
  • Always check the game card connection edge for foreign material before inserting the game card into BEE-001 system.

Warning-icon.png NOTICE — CLEANING THE SYSTEM
If the screen becomes dirty, please clean it using a soft, clean cloth, such as a lens- or eyeglass-cleaning cloth. If the outside of BEE-001 system comes into contact with liquids, wipe clean with a soft, slightly damp cloth (use water only). If the cleaning procedures do not solve the problem, please visit our website at support.nintendo.com for troubleshooting information.
Warning-icon.png NOTICE — ATTACHING AND DETACHING THE CONTROLLER
To detach the controller from BEE-001 console, press the release button on the back of the controller and pull outward gently. To avoid dropping and damaging the console, press the release button only when holding both the console and controller securely.
Warning-icon.png CAUTION — WEARING THE CONTROLLER STRAP
When playing with a controller detached from BEE-001 console, use the strap when instructed to do so in the software. Secure the strap around your wrist as instructed. Hold the controller securely, and do not let go of it unless otherwise instructed. Be aware of your surroundings. Allow adequate room around you during gameplay.
Warning-icon.png NOTICE — USING A CONTROLLER AS A MOUSE
When using a controller as a mouse:

  • Do not hit the controller forcefully or press on it too hard when moving it around.
  • Make sure the play surface is clear and that there’s nothing stuck to the controller or strap.
  • Use caution when using the controller on surfaces that are easily scratched.
  • Consider using a mouse pad or table pad beneath your controller.
  • Use the controller only on a flat surface with no sharp edges or protrusions.

Parental controls can be used to restrict certain features of BEE-001 system. For more information, please visit support.nintendo.com/parents
IF YOU NOTICE THAT YOUR DEVICE IS BROKEN OR DAMAGED OR IF YOU ARE EXPERIENCING PROBLEMS WITH YOUR DEVICE:

  1. Unplug it
    Disconnect the AC adapter and any peripheral devices from the console.
    Note: Unplug the AC adapter from the wall outlet before unplugging it from the system.
  2. Turn off the power
    Press and hold the POWER Button (for 12 seconds or more) to turn off the power.
    Note: Take care to touch the system only where necessary to turn off the power.
  3. Visit the support website
    Information about troubleshooting common issues, warranty, and after-sale support, if necessary, is available at: support.nintendo.com
