  • The meter can only be used with the provided probe to meet safety standards. If the probe is damaged and needs replacement, use a probe of the same model and electrical specification.

4. Setup

4.1. Installazzjoni tal-batterija

The GVDA GD119B requires 4 x 1.5V AAA batteries (not included) for operation. Ensure the meter is powered off and test leads are disconnected before proceeding.

When the battery symbol is displayed on the meter, replace the batteries promptly to avoid measurement errors.

4.2. Test Lead Connection

Always connect the black test lead to the "COM" (Common) jack. Connect the red test lead to the "INPUT" jack for most measurements (voltage, resistance, capacitance, frequency, diode, continuity, temperature). For current measurements, connect the red test lead to the "A" jack (for 600mA/6A/10A).

5. Istruzzjonijiet Operattivi

5.1. Power On/Off

5.2. Gear Selection (Smart/Auto Mode & Manual Mode)

  • The meter defaults to intelligent (AUTO) measurement mode upon power-on. In this mode, it automatically identifies DC voltage, AC voltage, reżistenza, u kontinwità.
  • To switch to manual mode, press the "SEL" or "FUNC" key.
  • Press the "SEL" or "FUNC" key again to cycle through different measurement functions within manual mode.
  • To return to intelligent (AUTO) measurement mode, press and hold the "SEL" or "FUNC" key for about 2 seconds.

  • Press the "HOLD" key () to freeze the current reading on the display. Press again to release.

5.5. Input Jack Indicator

When the measurement gear is changed, the corresponding input jack LED will flash 5 times to prompt you to insert the test probe into the correct jack.

5.6. Automatic Current Identification Function

When the red test lead is inserted into the "A" jack, the meter will automatically switch to the "A" (current) gear and activate the current measurement function.

5.7. Tifi Awtomatiku

The auto power-off function is enabled by default after power-on, indicated by the "" symbol. If there is no key operation for approximately 15 minutes, the meter will automatically shut down to conserve battery energy. To disable auto power-off, press and hold the power button while turning on the meter; the symbol will not be displayed.

5.8. Measurement Operations

Twissija: Tkejjelx voltage higher than 600V, as this may damage the meter. Exercise extreme caution when measuring high voltage to avoid electric shock or personal injury. Always test with a known voltage first to confirm the meter is functioning correctly.

5.8.1. Smart (AUTO) Measurement

This is the default mode. The meter automatically identifies and measures DC voltage, AC voltage, reżistenza, u kontinwità.

  1. Power on the meter; "Auto" will be displayed.
  2. Insert the red probe into the "INPUT" jack and the black probe into the "COM" jack.
  3. Contact the probes with both ends of the circuit or component to be measured. The meter will automatically recognize the signal.
  4. For resistance measurements, if the value is less than approximately 50Ω, the buzzer will sound, and the indicator light will turn on.

5.8.2. Professional Measurement (Manual Mode)

For specific measurements, switch to manual mode using the "SEL" or "FUNC" keys.

  3. Press "SEL" or "FUNC" again to toggle between AC voltage (displaying "AC") and DC voltage (displaying "DC").

  5. Contact the probes with both ends of the measured power supply (in parallel).

7. Manutenzjoni

7.1. Tindif
