Product Usage Instructions

Seatpost Setup

  1. Install the rack to the adapter. Tighten screws and washers to 4 Nm (35 in.lbs.).
  2. Determine the rack angle that best suits your bike and bag to be carried.
  3. Leave at least 25mm (1 inch) from the tire if no fender or pannier rack is in between.
  4. Assemble both the rack and adapter to the Base Clamp, then secure it on the seatpost.

Loading Limits

Follow the fork’s specifications for loading limits.

Fork Mounting

Apply metal washers and tighten screws to 4 Nm (35 in.lbs.) or follow the bike fork specifications.

Base Clamp Installation

  1. Align the rubber pad end and hold the pad in place.
  2. Attach the Base Clamp to the seat post from the large unit.
  3. Close the swing arm.
  4. Ensure the rubber pad is exposed at the top and bottom evenly surrounding the seat post.
  5. Install and tighten the locking screw until the swing arm’s outer side aligns flush with the Base unit’s outer side. A little outward or inward alignment is acceptable.

SEATPOST SETUP

  1. Install the rack to the adapter.
    • Tighten screws and washers to 4 Nm (35 in.lbs.).

LOADING LIMITS

  • Road – 7 kg / 15lb
  • Off road – 4.5 kg / 10lb
  • The loading limit on the bike fork should follow the fork’s specs
  • Consider using three straps for heavy items

CAUTION

  • Ensure no loose parts before use
  • Nylon straps must be used with a cam buckle or other locking hardware
  • Fully tighten the luggage before each ride

    • Use a 4 mm hex key

    • ( Supplied with Packer Rack adapter) Use a 3a mm hex key

    • Ø27.2/0 x 1 or Ø31.6/8 (30.9) x 2
  • Tighten the swing arm with the 22 mm M5-screw and 0.5 mm S.S. washer to 3 Nm ( 26.5 in.lbs.)

  • Clean any visible dirt or debris before assembling
  • Assemble with 16 mm flat-head screws and tighten to 4 Nm ( 35 in.lbs.). *Do not exceed 4.5Nm (40 in.lbs.)
  • WARNING: Do not install the BASE Clamp to the seat post without the included rubber pad
  • Applying grease on screw threads and threaded holes is NOT recommended

INSTALLATION

  1. Align the rubber pad end and hold the pad in place
  2. Attach the BASE Clamp to the seat post from the large unit
  3. Close the swing arm
  4. Ensure the rubber pad is exposed at the top and bottom evenly, surrounding the seat post
  5. Install and tighten the locking screw until the swing arm’s outer side aligns flush with the
    • BASE unit’s outer side. A little outward or inward alignment is acceptable.MOV-Packer-Rack-FIG-10

NOTE

  • Tighten the Main screw without a torque wrench – When the swing arm’s outer side aligns flush with the BASE unit’s outer side, the screw has reached or just exceeded 2.5 Nm at this point.
  • Slight outward or inward alignment is acceptable. The rubber pad will start to deform if over-tightened.
  • When using a torque wrench – Tighten the Main screw to 2.5 Nm or up to 3 Nm for heavier loads or off-road uses.
  • The loose ink of the logo and decorations printed on the seat post might transfer to the rubber pad.

WARNING

  • Do not install the BASE Clamp to the seat post without the included rubber pad
  • Applying grease on screw threads and threaded holes is NOT recommended
  • Do not skip the metal washer on the 22 mm locking screw

ATTACH HANDLEBAR BAGS

  • Handlebar bags using mounting straps can be attached to the Packer Rack
  • Tighten all straps to make the bag stay as close to the rack as possibleMOV-Packer-Rack-FIG-11
