Usage Steps

1. Indoor placement (where specified): Use bronze furniture/objects indoors only; stone pieces are for indoor use; ceramic is intended for indoor use; mixed clay furniture is made for indoor use only.
2. Surface protection (recommended): Protect surfaces with a suitable coating (e.g., tablecloth/coaster) during use, and add suitable protective pads under heavy and blunt objects.
3. Handling safety: Handle bronze/wood/stone/mixed clay with white gloves and enough people; for safety, the manual recommends calling on a specialist.
4. General cleaning approach: Use a soft, dry, lint-free cloth or duster for dusting; avoid intense rubbing; if stains occur, follow the material-specific stain steps in the troubleshooting section below.

Product Instruction

Bronze

• All pieces are cast in solid bronze.
• The thermal and atmospheric changes applied to the bronze during its machining might generate slight variations that make each piece one of a kind.
• Bronze requires little maintenance. It naturally embellishes and develops a patina over time.

Care Instruction

• Black patinated bronze
  • The piece has been colored by heated oxidation and is protected by antique wax like a sculpture.
  • Please avoid any cleaning products. Just dust it with a smooth and clean cloth (microfiber type).
  • Please, no intense rubbing. Do not lay any wet or hot objects on bronze.
  • Do not place any blunt objects on bronze surfaces, as it could damage the patina.
• Polished and brushed bronze
  • Please only use cleaning products intended for brass and bronze, usually sold in hardware stores.
  • Apply the product with a clean and soft cloth (microfiber type) on the stained or oxidized spot, and gently rub it over that spot only.
  • Each cleaning product has its own instructions, which should be followed, but always use a smooth cloth that will avoid damaging the polished surface.
  • Also, dust with a soft and dry cloth.
  • Do not leave any blunt, wet, or hot objects on the surface.
  • Please note that bronze oxidizes when in contact with sweat.
  • For any other damage, please contact us immediately, and do not treat the surface yourself.

Wood

Wood requires little care. It ages and embellishes naturally over time.

• CARE INSTRUCTIONS
  • Use a soft, dry, lint-free cloth to remove dust. Please, no intense rubbing.
  • In case of liquid spills, lightly tap the wood with an absorbent paper (non-dyed).
  • Lightly dampen a clean (non-dyed) cloth with cold water and softly wipe the wood.
  • Dry with another clean, dry cloth.
  • If necessary, use a mild wood cleaner available in drugstores and follow the instructions.
  • Never use sprays or abrasive cleaners on the wood.
  • For wine spots, absorb with a non-dyed paper towel and contact us.
  • In case of scratches or any other damages, please contact us immediately and do not try to treat the surface yourself.

Stones

Marble and travertine require little care. Each piece of marble has a unique veining. It is one of this material’s charms. Unfilled travertine displays random holes from one piece to another. Some can be filled-up with a traditional resin to reinforce their solidity. This process, imposed by the nature of the stone itself, is part of the usual process of artisanal manufacturing.

• CARE INSTRUCTIONS
  • Use a clean and soft cloth to dust the marble.
  • To clean stains up, we recommend using a soft cloth dampened with warm water and, if necessary, suitable neutral detergents available in hardware stores.
  • Do not use abrasive cleaners, degreasers, or descalers that could scratch and damage the surface.

  • Marble and travertine are naturally porous. When vases do not have inserts, we recommend using dry plants only.
  • These stones are, by nature, sensitive to the acidity found in many foods and beverages (champagne, lemon, etc.). We suggest protecting the surface with a suitable coating (tablecloth, coasters, etc.) when using it and adding suitable protective pads under heavy objects (marble, bronze, etc.).
  • Stones are sensitive to shocks. We recommend always handling stone with clean gloves and enough people, depending on the size and weight of the piece.

Leather
Leather is a naturally porous material that breathes and acquires a patina over time.

• CARE INSTRUCTIONS
  • Use a clean and soft cloth to dust the leather.
  • If a stain occurs, do not treat only the spot but the entire surface.
  • Always use clean clothes and specialized products available in hardware stores to treat your leather.
  • Before using such products, we recommend you try them following the instructions.
  • If possible, we recommend testing the effects of the product on a hidden surface first. This will allow you to see how the leather reacts before completing the treatment.
  • Do not use detergents, shoe creams, ether, or any other alkaline or abrasive cleaners.
• Specific cases:
  • Chewing gum – Cool the area with ice in a waterproof plastic bag, then carefully remove the gum.
  • Ballpoint pen – contact us directly.
  • Grease – Use a soapy solution of «MarseiIIe soap» flakes boiled in water. Gently apply this solution to the leather and let it dry at room temperature. Wipe with a clean cloth.
  • Depending on the severity of the stain, contact a cleaning specialist.

• INSTRUCTION FOR USE
  • Due to its porosity, leather should not be in prolonged contact with liquids and grease.

Ceramic
Ceramic pieces are handcrafted by the Objet Mobilier workshop and require little maintenance.

• CARE INSTRUCTIONS
  • Dust with a soft, dry cloth.
  • Clean any stain caused by a liquid substance using a dampened cloth (microfiber), then dry with a soft dry cloth.
  • If a stain persists, apply a bit of window cleaner to a dry cloth and wipe gently.

  • We suggest adding suitable protective pads underneath any heavy and blunt objects (marble, bronze, etc.) you wish to place on your ceramic piece.

Terracotta
Objet Mobilier terracotta pieces require little maintenance. Due to their handcrafted nature, the pieces may have slight variations in color or surface finish due to their firing.

Mixed Clay

Objet Mobilier mixed clay pieces require little maintenance. Due to their handcrafted nature, mixed clay pieces may feature slight variations in color or surface finish due to the firing process.

Fabric

Regular cleaning is important to keep the upholstery textile looking its best and to prolong its life. Dust and dirt wear down the textile and also reduce its natural properties.

• CARE INSTRUCTIONS
  • Normal cleaning
  • Vacuum frequently, ideally every week, at half power where appropriate.
  • May also be vacuum-cleaned with a soft brush.
• Stain removal
  • If you act quickly, it is not diffcult to remove spills and prevent stains from forming. However, we cannot guarantee complete stain removal.
  • First, scrape off any liquids or hardened residues with a spoon or a scoop before you proceed. Any loose particles must be vacuum-cleaned before further cleaning.
  • Liquids must be soaked up with an absorbent napkin or cloth.
  • Remove non-greasy stains by carefully dabbing with a lint-free cloth or sponge wrung out in warm water.
  • Edge marks can be avoided by dabbing gently in circular motions towards the centre of the stain with a clean lintfree cloth.
  • Remove greasy stains by using « terre de Sommiéres» (Montmorillonite). In all cases, we recommend to test stain-removal agents on an inconspicuous area first, to see if there is any effect on the cover.
  • These tips are only recommendations and cannot guarantee complete stain removal. In all cases, we recommend contacting a professional dry cleaner. In order to ensure satisfactory results, particularly for large stains, we recommend to contact a professional dry cleaner. It is important to state whether the stain has already undergone treatment. Due to excess dye in jeans, dark jeans may leave stains on textiles; washing and cleaning may not always lead to satisfying results.
• INSTRUCTION FOR USE
  • Do not rub the material hard, as this could result in loss of colour or potentially damage the nap.
  • Never use unconcentrated detergents or bleach, ammonia or soap intended for hard surfaces.
