Step 2: Controls
FRONT PANEL
- AES50 IN 1/SYNC – use this Ethercon™ socket to connect the HUB4 PRO to for example the Midas HD96 or M32 series mixing consoles. The HUB4 PRO will synchronize to a compatible AES50 source, when connected to this socket. If you are using either of the 96 kHz modes, then the signals will be downsampled to 48 kHz for output ports 1-4 (sockets 5-8) and for StageConnect (socket 18 on the rear panel). In that case this socket inputs channels 1 – 24, and it sends 24 channels upstream back to the AES50 Source.
- AES50 IN 2/THRU – use this Ethercon™ socket either as a second AES50 96 kHz input, carrying channels 25 – 48, or as an AES50 Thru to cascade audio to other devices when in 48 kHz mode. Note: when the console is in 44.1 kHz, the HUB4 PRO is automatically set to 44.1 kHz.
- 96k LED – this LED indicator will be lit when the HUB4 PRO is in 96 kHz mode.
- 24 CHANNEL LED – this LED indicator will be lit when the HUB4 PRO is in 96 kHz 24-Channel mode.
- – 8. PERSONAL MIXER CONNECTIONS – use these sockets to connect the HUB4 PRO to compatible devices, for example the Midas DP48 Personal Monitor Mixer, or DL8 Stage Box. These sockets can provide Power Over Ethernet (PoE) at 52 V DC 25 Watt. Sockets 1, 2, 5 – 8 should be used with shielded Ethercon™ cables of up to 80 metres in length.
- PORT 1-4 – use this button to send the return channels from ports 1 – 4 to AES50 upstream channels 1 – 32. This can be used for example when connected to suitable personal mixers or stage boxes.
- StageConnect – use this button to send the 16 return channels from the StageConnect bus to AES50 upstream channels 33 – 48. Press the button and hold during power up to update the HUB4 Firmware using the rear panel USB socket (17). The button will flash until the update is complete.
