Usage Instructions

Desktop Overview

The desktop provides quick access to essential features:

  • Start Menu: The entry point for your device, allowing access to applications, folders, and settings.
  • Taskbar: Displays applications in use and allows switching between them.
  • Notification Area: Displays important information about your device’s usage.
  • Search Pane: Allows easy searching through files, applications, and other items on your device.

The Start Menu offers several functionalities:

  • User Session Management: Logout, lock the user session.
  • Parameters: Open device settings.
  • Power Options: Power off, restart, or sleep your device.
  • Applications List: All installed applications are listed here.

Note: To display an item as a tile, right-click on it and select the ‘Pin to Start’ option. To remove a tile, right-click on it and select ‘Unpin from Start’.

The Action Centre provides quick access to various settings:

  • Connecting to a wireless Wi-Fi network: Fill in the key before making the connection.
  • Pairing your device with a Bluetooth device.
  • Activate/Deactivate Airplane Mode: Airplane mode disables wireless Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity.

System Restoration

WARNING: Make a backup of your important data before running this option.

This option allows you to restore your device or access the device’s firmware settings, change Windows boot settings, or restore Windows from a disk image.

Changing the Default Username

Warm Tip: For the convenience of all users, this laptop directly skips the tedious registration process and enters the Windows 11 desktop as soon as it is turned on. It is brand new. Please feel free to use it!

To change the default username, follow these steps:

  1. Right-click the Windows icon, then select ‘Computer Management’.
  2. Click ‘Users’.
  3. Select the name you want to revise, then type the new name you prefer.
  4. After that, reboot the computer; the setting will be finished after the computer reboots.

Connecting to a wireless Wi-Fi network

Your device is equipped with a Wi-Fi module. Connecting to a Wi-Fi wireless network will allow you to access the Internet, check your e-mails, perform device updates or access a home or business network.

To connect, follow • If Wi-Fi is not enabled, click on the these steps:

  • Click on “Connect”. If your wireless network requires a security key, fill in the key before making the connection.

Pairing your device with a Bluetooth device

  • Your device is equipped with a Bluetooth module. This one allows you to connect it to a Bluetooth device (mouse, portable speakers…)
  • To connect the two devices, follow these steps:
  • Go to the Start menuMicrosoft-Windows-11-fig (6) and select Settings.
  • Click on the “Devices” section and select “Bluetooth and other devices”.
  • Select the option “Microsoft-Windows-11-fig (7)Add Bluetooth or other device.”
  • Let the assistant guide you.

Activate the Airplane mode

Airplane mode disables wireless Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity.

To activate airplane mode:

  • Click on the icon Microsoft-Windows-11-fig (4) in the notification area.

To disable the airplane mode:

  • Click on the icon Microsoft-Windows-11-fig (8) in the notification area.
  • Click on the button Microsoft-Windows-11-fig (9).

System restoration

WARNING:

Make a backup of your important data before running this option. Windows@ 11 offers several recovery options to restore the factory configuration:

  • Keep my files: Reset your device by keeping your personal files.
  • Delete all: Restores the factory configuration of your device.
  • Make a backup of your important data before running this option.
  • Retrograde to the previous version of Windows@ 11: Use this option if you are having trouble with your device after the system update.
  • Advanced boot: This option allows you to boot from an external device or access the device’s firmware settings or change Windows boot settings or restore Windows from a disk image.
  • To perform a restoration operation, follow the following steps
  • Go to the Start menuMicrosoft-Windows-11-fig (6) and select Settings.
  • Click on the “Update and security” section and select “Recovery”.
  • Select the restoration option to be executed.

  3. Select the name which you want to revise, type the Name which you prefer;
