Installation:
Select App Store from the Apple menu and search for Asthma Analyzer+ to install on your MacBook or iMac.

Uninstallation:
Delete the app using Finder by dragging it to the Trash.

Product Usage Instructions

General Buttons:
There are three buttons on the right upper side:

  • Software Version Button: Displays the software version.
  • Data Download Button: Transfers data from the device to the app.
  • User Manual Button: Takes you to the user manual download page on the Microlife support website.

Overview Tab: The Overview Tab provides an overview of the data collected.

Data Tab: The Data Tab displays detailed data collected from the Peak Flow meter.

Introduction

Asthma Analyzer+ is the asthma data collection APP which is developed by Microlife corporation. It can transfer data from the Peak Flow meter and customize the traffic light settings.

Installation
Select App Store from the Apple menu and the Mac App Store will open. Search the “Asthma Analyzer+” to find the APP. Press install and then the APP will be installed on your MacBook or iMac.

Uninstallation
Use the Finder to delete apps. Find the APP and drag it to the Trash.

User Interface of AA+

There are three general buttons “A” and four main tabs “B” in the AA+ APP. They are described as below:

General Buttons
There are three buttons on the right upper side and are introduced as below:

When the button is pressed, the software version is shown as below.

When the device is not connected, this button is disabled as below .

When the device is connected, this button will change to be

enabled as below .

When the button is pressed, the data of the device will be transferred to the APP.

User Manual Button

 

 

 

When the button is pressed, it will direct to the user manual download page of the Microlife support website.

Note: To connect to the Microlife support website, the

internet is needed.

Overview Tab

The below information will be found in the overview tab.

  1. Area 1: User basic information area
    The username, gender, age can be found at this area.
  2. Area2: Time Range area
    This area shows the period of the measurements. Users can customize the day period and time period to filter the readings to be displayed in the overview tab.Microlife-Asthma-Analyzer-Asthma-Monitor-FIG- (6)
  3. Area 3: Measurements area
    This area presents the total number of measurements and the latest measurement time of the selected time range.
  4. Area4: Peak Flow Value Average Area
    This area displays the average of PEF and FEV1.
  5. Area5: Best Value Area
    This area shows the best value setting of the APP. Note:
    1. The APP uses maximum PEF value as the default Best Value when the APP is executed first time.
    2. If users had ever programed the best value to the device, the best value will be changed as the best value setting.

Data Tab
Users can review the readings, the corresponding PEV / FEV1 trend chart or export the report at Data tab. In addition, there are three sub- pages in this tab. These are described as follows:

Readings Page
This page is the default page shown in the data tab. Users can also press theMicrolife-Asthma-Analyzer-Asthma-Monitor-FIG- (7) button to switch to this page as below. In addition, user can also export the CSV or PDF report by pressing theMicrolife-Asthma-Analyzer-Asthma-Monitor-FIG- (8) button.

Note: Only the measurement data within the selected date & time range will be displayed in the list view.

On this page, users can create a comment or edit the comment under the “Notes” column. If users want to delete the reading, they can press Microlife-Asthma-Analyzer-Asthma-Monitor-FIG- (11)the button to delete it. Once the button is pressed, the message as below will be shown.

PEF Trend Chart Page
Users can press the PEF Trend button to switch to this page to review the PEF trend chart as below.

There are three colors in the PEF trend chart. The meaning of traffic light indicator colors is explained below.

  1. Green Zone: OK
    If your measurement is in the green zone, your condition appears to be under control. Continue your treatment plan.
  2. Yellow Zone: Caution
    If your measurement is in the yellow zone, measure more frequently and follow your treatment plan.
  3. Red Zone: Danger
    If your measurement is in the red zone, your condition is serious. Act as discussed with your physician or seek emergency medical treatment. On this page, when the device is connected, users could press the button to customize the traffic light settings.

Profile Tab
Users need to create their user profile at the profile tab when using the APP for the first time.

The below fields can be configured at the Settings tab:

  • Unit、(2) Date Format、(3) Time Format
  • Users can also “Import Data” or “Export Data” at the Settings tab.

Scenarios of AA+

Region Setting

  • Step1: Users have to select the region when the program is executed first time. If you are located in the USA and using Microlife peak flow meter available in the USA, please select “USA”; if you are located in countries other than USA and using Microlife peak flow meter available in countries other than USA, please select “Others”.Microlife-Asthma-Analyzer-Asthma-Monitor-FIG- (18)

Synchronize the Date and Time
Before using the device, users need to set the date and time of the device first. The easiest way to set the date and time is users can synchronize it via APP.

  • Step1: Connect the device to the APP: Connect the device to the computer. Once the device connection is ready, theMicrolife-Asthma-Analyzer-Asthma-Monitor-FIG- (3) button will be enabled.
  • Step2: Press Microlife-Asthma-Analyzer-Asthma-Monitor-FIG- (3)button, the APP will check the date & time between the APP and device first. If the date and time conflicts, the below dialog will be displayed.

Create a User Profile

  • Step1: Press + the button to create the user profile. And then the below dialog will be displayed. Note: Users have to create the user profile before they start to transfer the data from the device.

  • Step4: Press theMicrolife-Asthma-Analyzer-Asthma-Monitor-FIG- (24) button to save the user profile.

Note: AA+ allows multi-users usage. Users can repeat step1 to step 6 to create another user profile.

Download Data from the Device

  • Step1: Connect the device to the computer. Once the device connection is ready, the Microlife-Asthma-Analyzer-Asthma-Monitor-FIG- (3)button will be enabled. Users can press this button at any tab to download the readings.
    Before downloading the data, APP will check the date & time between the APP and device, if the date and time conflict, the below dialog will be displayed. Users need to synchronize the date and time first.Microlife-Asthma-Analyzer-Asthma-Monitor-FIG- (25)
  • Step2: WhenMicrolife-Asthma-Analyzer-Asthma-Monitor-FIG- (3)the button is pressed, the message box as below will be shown. Users can select which user profile to be transferred.Microlife-Asthma-Analyzer-Asthma-Monitor-FIG- (26)Note: (1) If there is only one user profile created, only one user profile is displayed. If there are multiple user profiles created, all of the user profiles will be shown. (2) Always connect the device to the PC directly to ensure correct connection for data transfer.
  • Step3: Select a user profile and then press the “ok” to download data from the device.
  • Step4: When the data download is done, the dialog will be displayed. Press the “OK” button and then users can start to review their latest readings at the readings page of Data Tab.Microlife-Asthma-Analyzer-Asthma-Monitor-FIG- (27)
  • Step5:
    If the maximum PEF value transferred from the device is larger than the current best value of APP, App will update the best value as the retrieved maximum PEF value and then clear the data of the device automatically.

Note: If users had ever customized the traffic light settings, the message box as below will be shown to confirm with users. If the “Yes” button is pressed, the traffic light settings of the device will be modified and then the memory of the device will be cleared. If the “No” button is pressed, the traffic light settings will not be changed. But the memory of the device will still be cleared.

Customize the Traffic Light Settings
The AA+ can set area limits, create a treatment plan and modify the traffic light zone settings.

Note: Modifying the traffic light settings should only be done under direction of a physician (or other licensed health care practitioner). If you would like to use this feature, determine your customized zones with your doctor and program them on traffic light settings page.

  • Step1: After downloading the data, users could switch to the PEF Trend Chart page on the Data tab.Microlife-Asthma-Analyzer-Asthma-Monitor-FIG- (29)

  • Step3: Based on physician’s direction, input the target in the Best Value field. Once the value is input, the corresponding yellow zone and red zone will be changed automati-cally.
  • Step4: Press theMicrolife-Asthma-Analyzer-Asthma-Monitor-FIG- (32) button to program the best value setting to the device. Then the message below will be displayed.Microlife-Asthma-Analyzer-Asthma-Monitor-FIG- (33)

Note: After programming the best value to the device, the corresponding traffic light of the trend chart will also be changed. In addition, if the Traffic Light Set-tings dialog still there, it’s normal. Users can know the yellow zone and red zone’s setting via the traffic light settings dialog.

Select Another User Profile
The AA+ program allows users to create multiple user profiles. If users would like to review another user’s readings, they can switch to the corresponding profile.

Export CSV/ PDF Report
The AA+ program can export CSV or PDF report. Users can export it and take to the physicians.

Import/ Export Data
The AA+ program provides data import/export functions. Users can import the data from the AA+ program or export data to clinics or another computer.

Import Data

  • Step1: Switch to Settings Tab.
  • Step2: Press the “Import Data” button.

  • Step4: Press “Open” and then data will be imported. Once the data import is done, the below message will be displayed.

 

Export Data

  • Step1: Switch to Settings Tab.
  • Step2: Press the “Export Data” button.
