Note
- A DMX signal amplifier is needed if more than 32 decoders are connected, oif r use longer signal line is used, signal amplification should not be more than 5 times continuously.
- If the recoil effect occurs because of a longer signal line or bad line quality, please try to connect a 0.25W 90-120Ω terminal resistor at the end of each DMX signal line.
Operation
System parameter setting
- Long-press M and the ◀ key at the same time for 2s, prepare for the setup system parameter: grey level, output PWM frequency, output brightness curve, default output level, and automatic blank screen. Press the M key to switch to have item.
- Grey level: short press ◀ or ▶ key to switch 8bit(”b08”) or 16 bit(”b16”). Choose 16-bit if the DMX master supports 16-bit.
- Output PWM frequency: short press ◀ or ▶ key to switch 2250Hz(“F02”), 500Hz(“F05”), 1000Hz(“F10”), 2000Hz(“F20”), 4000Hz(“F40”), 8000Hz(“F80”), 16000Hz(“F16”) or 32000Hz(“F32”). Higher PWM frequency will cause lower output current, higher power noise, but more suitable for camera(No sicker for video).
When PWM frequency > 8000Hz, it is necessary to reduce the output current per channel (3x6A@12-24V and 3x5A@36-48V at 16000Hz; 3x4A@12-24V and 3x3A@36-48V at 32000Hz). - Output brightness curve: short-press press ◀ or ▶ key to switch linear curve(”C-L”) and the logarithmic curve(”C-E”).
- Default output level: set the output level when no DMX input signal. Short-press the ◀ or ▶ key to switch between maintaining DMX output(”d–”) or output default level(“d00” to “dFF”, 0-100%), long-press the ◀ or ▶ key to change output default level.
- Automatic blank screen: short-press the ◀ or ▶ key to switch enable (”bon”) or disable(”boF”) automatic blank screen.
- Long-press press M key for 2s or timeout 10s, quit system parameter setting.
Note: In addition to manual button operation settings, the above system parameters can also be set by the RDM function.
DMX mode

- Press the M key when the display shows 001~512, enter DMX mode.
- Press the ◀ or ▶ key to change the DMX decode start address(001~512), long-press for fast adjustment.
- If there is a DMX signal input, it will enter DMX mode automatically.
- DMX Dimming: Each D3-XE DMX decoder occupies 3 DMX addresses when connecting to the DMX console. For example, the default start address is 1, and its corresponding relationship in the form
| DMX Console | DMX Decoder Output |
| CH1 0-255 | CH1 PWM 0-100% (LED R) |
| CH2 0-255 | CH2 PWM 0-100% (LED G) |
| CH3 0-255 | CH3 PWM 0-100% (LED B) |
Stand-alone RGB mode
- Enter stand-alone RGB mode only when the DMX signal is disconnected or lost.
- Press the M key short when the display shows P01~P30, enter stand-alone RGB mode.
- Press the ◀ or ▶ key to change the dynamic mode number(P01~P30).
- Each mode can adjust speed and brightness.
- Long-press press M key for 2s, prepare for setup mode speed and brightness. Press the M key to switch two items.
- Press the ◀ or ▶ key to setthe value of each item.
- Mode speed: 1-10 level speed(S-1, S-9, S-F).
- Mode brightness: 1-10 level brightness(b-1, b-9, b-F).
- Long-press press M key for 2s, or timeout 10s, quit setting.

Stand-alone dimmer mode
- Enter stand-alone dimmer mode only when the DMX signal is disconnected or lost.
- Press the M key when dthe display shows L-1~L-8, enter stand-alone dimmer mode.
- Press ◀the or ▶ key to change the summer mode number(L-1~L-8).
- Each dimmer mode can adjust each channel’s brightness independently.
- Long-press press M key for 2s, prepare for setting up the three-channel brightness.
- Press the M key to switch three channels (100~1FF, 200~2FF, 300~3FF). Pressthe ◀ or ▶ key to set the brightness value of each channel.
- Long-press press M key for 2s, or timeout 10s, quit setting.

Restore the factory default parameter. Long-press press ◀ and ▶ keys for 2s, restore the factory default parameters, and display” RES”.
- Factory default parameter: DMX decode mode, DMX decode start address is 1, 8-bit grey level, 2000Hz PWM frequency output, logarithmic brightness curve, output 100% level when no DMX input, RGB mode number is 1, dimmer mode number is 1, disable automatic blank screen.

FAQs
Do I need a DMX signal amplifier when connecting more than 32 decoders?
Yes, a DMX signal amplifier is required if more than 32 decoders are connected or if using an overlong signal line. Signal amplification should not exceed 5 times continuously.
How can I address recoil effects due to long signal lines or bad quality?
Connect a 0.25W 90-120 terminal resistor at the end of each DMX signal line to address recoil effects caused by long signal lines or poor quality.
