The BOMATA T101 thermometer comes with one LR44 battery pre-installed and an additional spare battery. To install or replace the battery:
- Locate the battery compartment cover on the back of the thermometer's head.
- Use a coin or small screwdriver to gently twist the cover counter-clockwise to open.
- Insert the LR44 battery with the positive (+) side facing up.
- Replace the cover and twist clockwise to secure it.

- Hiko Whakaka/Weto: Pehia te ON/OFF button to turn the thermometer on or off. The device will automatically power off after 10 minutes of inactivity.

- Taumahi HOLD: Pehia te KAUPAPA button to freeze the current temperature reading on the display. This allows you to remove the probe from the heat source and read the temperature comfortably. Press the HOLD button again to release the reading and resume live measurement.
