Gateway SP042 to the LoRaWAN® network. For COMET Cloud
QUICK START MANUAL
DESCRIPTION AND USE
model SenseCAP M2 – optional accessories for Wx9xx series transmitters
The gateway serves as an access point for the local LoRaWAN® network and is designed to connect COMET Wx9xx series transmitters to the COMET Cloud via the LoRaWAN® network. The gateway is a third-party product, supplied with complete original accessories for its power supply and installation. However, it is preset so that after installation it immediately starts receiving data messages from the LoRaWAN® network with its antenna, supplements them with the correct time of message receipt and sends the complete data to the target server used by the COMET Cloud. The condition is a connection to a network with available Internet, without restrictions on the outgoing direction from the gateway, e.g. by a firewall. A DHCP server must also be available in this network.
The gateway is configured via WiFi, see the original device manual. Under normal circumstances, it is not necessary to interfere with the gateway configuration, it is already set.
Warning: if you reset the gateway to factory settings, all presets will be lost!
Registering a gateway to the COMET Cloud is done in the Administration / LoRa Gateways menu. Add your gateway to the list by entering its Gateway EUI identifier (for this gateway, it is the EUI item from the label on the bottom of the device). You can also give it a suitable name and, if it will be placed stationary, we recommend entering its location on the map.
Connect the gateway as shown in the image below. To maintain cybersecurity, we recommend connecting the gateway to a separate VLAN. Connect the registered gateway to power. Within a few minutes, its status in the gateway list in the cloud must change to ONLINE and the green indicator on the front (white) surface of the gateway must then be permanently green.
