All Dimensions show recommended spacing allowed, except for closet door ventilation openings which are minimum required.
This washer has been tested for installation with spacing of 0″ (0 mm) clearance on the sides. Consider allowing more space for ease of installation and servicing, and spacing for companion appliances and clearances for walls, doors, and floor moldings. Add spacing of 1″ (25 mm) on all sides of washer to reduce noise transfer. If a closet door or louvered door is installed, top and bottom air openings in door are required.

Ultimately the Maytag is probably the better built of the two units, although it’s a pretty close call. The features are similar, but GE provides an extra layer of versatility, although it’s extra bulk also makes it a harder fit in certain places. If you’re stacking or looking for features, go GE.
As a general rule, if it costs less than 50% of the price of a new washing machine to repair your old one, you should choose the repair option. But, you should also consider whether or not there is a warranty coverage on your washer and think about economic realities.

Open the dispenser drawer by pulling on the handle at the base of the washer. This will reveal the drain pump filter. Remove the drawer by releasing the tab on each side.
However, the Maytag washer filter location for front-loading machines is behind a dispenser drawer on the right side of the washer’s front base. This location allows it to better protect the drain pump that’s alongside it.
More specifically to successfully wash a king-sized comforter, you need a washer that has a drum capacity of 5.0 cubic feet or larger. The washer should be a front-loading washer or a top-loading washer without or with a removable center agitator.
