Internet connection, especially whilst travelling, is often relied on for checking the weather, researching places to stay, visit and eat. Keeping up to date with family and friends through social media and emails to simply keeping the kids entertained on journeys and rainy days. The internet has fast become a necessity to our daily lives. Smartphones and other devices can provide access to these services but for many can prove unreliable for coverage and speeds required. People with Smart TV’s at home often wish to transfer the same viewing experiences into their vehicle so when they are away from home they don’t miss their favourite Netflix series, they can watch their favourite film on Prime video or can simply catch up on the weekly soaps or favourite TV programme at a convenient time via BBC iPlayer or ITV HUB.

2. WiFi Source

We have 3 powerful omni-directional antenna types to suit your application or performance needs. All Antennas can be easily roof mounted in almost any position with mounting options detailed on step 2. Fitted with high quality 3M self adhesive pad bases ensure a watertight installation.

Antenna Types Explained
4×4 MIMO vs 2×2 MIMO
With 4 data streams the 4×4 MIMO Antenna can increase 4G & 5G speeds by up to 100% compared to a typical 2×2 MIMO antenna.
This makes the 4×4 MIMO Antenna the perfect partner for the Roam 5G Router.
Please note: The 4×4 MIMO Antenna comes with 4 x SMA Cables. Where, as a typical 2×2 MIMO Antenna comes complete with 2 SMA cables as standard. Please reference Images 1-3 on the opposite page.
MIMO stands for Multiple-Input, Multiple-Output.

Campervan Antenna Type
Designed specifically with campervans and panel vans in mind, it has a much smaller footprint. This allows the Antenna not take up precious space on the roof of your vehicle, and will also fit in between or on the ridges of ridged style roofs. In addition it is ideal for pop top applications.
Due the compact size the Campervan Antenna isn’t available in a 4×4 MIMO option.

Alternatively you may have an existing cable entry point you may like to utilise instead. The aluminium bracket is lightweight, strong and finished with a durable white, grey or black powder coating. Suitable for any flat roof the kit also includes extension cables for flexible mounting position.

Step 4. Choose a SIM Card package
The Roam models are designed to work with any data service provider
so you are free to use whatever network works best for you!

You can use your provider if you already have one in place alternatively if you are choosing a network provider for your Roam it’s worth considering coverage for intended travel alongside the best deals and usage.
If you travel to Scotland, EE’s coverage is regarded superior, whilst Vodafone proves popular for those travelling into Europe. The Three network is generally considered to offer competitive deals.
Please check limitations of your network provider and Data SIM, especially when travelling abroad, the number of days abroad, usage, restrictions and roaming charges. It is always a good idea, when travelling abroad to carry a spare SIM which doesn’t have a shelf life or expire if not used.

What is MAXSPEED? Allows you to configure your router to maximise connection speed, or coverage at the press of a button.
How does MAXSPEED work? Your router is able to connect to a cell tower using a number of different ‘bands’, covering various frequencies. Some of these bands are great for high speeds, but have limited range, others can travel a long way from a cell tower, but aren’t as fast.
MaxSpeed can choose which bands to use without having to get into complicated configuration settings of the router. If speed is important, set it to ‘Speed’ to ensure you are always connected to the fastest bands. If you are in a very rural location, or a busy place like a festival, set it back to ‘Coverage’ to use whichever bands are available. 11

Supplied with a Router from our Maxview Roam System, which is tried and tested with 5 years on the market. This is fully enclosed inside a compact but powerful weatherproof antenna assembly and can be easily accessed to change the data SIM card provider.
As the router is located in the antenna assembly, there is no signal loss due to long cable runs, optimising 4G and WiFi reception.

It includes a secure universal fast slide-in, rust resistant fixing bracket. This allows the system to be temporarily mounted to walls, poles, tripods or any other suitable, secure method onto your vehicle or any other suitable applications. (Reference Maxview’s accessories on page 14 and 15).
Cabling can be fed simply into the vehicle through an open window, door, or roof light. Only a single cable is required to the antenna, using Power over Ethernet (PoE) to power the router, meaning there are no limitations on cable length. The PoE adaptor also features an additional port for connecting a wired device such as a laptop or TV.

Router is pre-fitted and secure inside waterproof antenna enclosure.

How does a Roam Combo work?
The Roam Combo combines TV reception and Internet connectivity by using two independent antennas carefully arranged in the same housing. This gives you all the normal functionality of the Maxview Roam range (pages 5 – 11), and the TV reception of a Maxview Gazelle Pro.
The internet antenna connects to your router and creates a WiFi hotspot in your vehicle, whereas the TV antenna connects to the included 2 output TV Signal Booster.
