MaxiCoffee BARISTATOR Espresso Plus Scale
WARNINGS
This scale is a high precision instrument; in order to maintain this precision, please handle the scale with care.
- Keep out of reach of children.
- Do not drop or hit the scale.
- Do not place objects heavier than the maximum weight limit on the weighing platform – maximum 2000 g (even when the scale is off).
- Do not store the scale with an object on the weighing platform.
- Gently place objects to be weighed on the weighing platform.
- Make sure that the scale is placed on a flat, level surface.
- Do not use the product outside.
- Do not use the scale in extremes of temperature: min. -5°C, max. +40°C.
- Do not place the product on, in or near a microwave oven.
- Avoid using or storing the scale in areas with strong electromagnetic interference, like near a mobile phone, microwave oven, etc.
- This scale is splash resistant but not fully water resistant, do not fully immerse the scale in water.
- Do not fully immerse the scale in water to clean it.

SCREEN & INTERFACE
USING
WEIGHING
- Turn the scale on with the ON/OFF Button.
- Make sure that the weight shown on the scale is zero before placing the object.
- Place the object to be weighed on the weighing platform and its weight will show on the screen.
- The object must be placed in the centre of the scale platform.
UNITS
Press and hold the T Button for 5 sec to switch between weighing units: g, oz.
OFF & AUTO-OFF FUNCTION
To switch between the “off mode” to “auto-off mode”, press and hold the ON/OFF Button. The scale will automatically switch off after 3 minutes. Press twice on the ON/OFF Button to switch the scale off.
TIMER
Press the TIMER Button to show and start the timer. Press again to pause the timer. Press and hold for 3 seconds to reset the timer to 0.
USE IN POUR-OVER COFFEE PREPARATION
This recipe is a standard Barista recipe for a 2 cup dripper – it can be adapted for other pour-over techniques (the standard ratio is 60 g of coffee for 1 l of water). You can experiment by changing the size of your grind, the temperature of your water and how you pour your water to find the recipe that best fits your tastes.
- Heat 250ml of water to 94°C and add coffee – ground to the pour-over coffee standard grind size.
- Turn on your scale and press the M button to change mode until the timer displays.
- Place your carafe, dripper and filter paper on the scale and Zero the scale.
- Rinse the filter paper with 50 ml (50 g) of water: this will remove the paper taste from the filter and will preheat your carafe.
- Empty the water from the carafe, reassemble the paper, dripper and jug on the scale and tare.
- Add 12 g of coffee to the filter and zero the scale.
- Slowly pour the water over the coffee and start the timer at the same time.
- Add 50 ml (50 g) of water every 30 seconds to a total of 200 ml (g): this is 4 pours.
- When the timer shows 2 m 30 remove the dripper (all the water should have passed) and enjoy!
USE IN ESPRESSO
This mode is specifically for timing espresso shots. To change to this function, press the M button until the drip icon shows.
- Place a cup (or cups) on the weighing platform and the scale will auto zero.
- When the scale detects a liquid falling into the cup, the timer will automatically start. And will automatically stop when the liquid stops falling into the cup.
- At the end of the extraction, the scale will show the weight (volume) of liquid in the cup and the time it took to fill the cup. (Note that this is not the full time of the extraction as the scale does not know the time between when the machine pump was turned on and when the first drop fell into the cup).
CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE
- To clean your scale use a clean, damp cloth (with a small amount to cleaning liquid if needed). Do not use oily or acidic products for cleaning your scale.
- This scale uses an integrated lithium polymer battery. You can recharge your scale through the micro-USB-C port and the supplied USB-C – Micro-USB-C cable. You can plug this USB cable in any USB socket that follows the USB charging standards (e.g. phone charger, PC USB socket, USB wall socket…).
PRODUCT AND THE ENVIRONMENT
This product contains a lithium-ion battery which is a sensitive component that can cause injury if damaged. Do not attempt to repair or remove the battery. Replacement with a non qualified battery or improper disposal may present a risk of fire, explosion and/or other hazards. Do not immerse or expose the device or its battery to water or other fluids, or open crush heat the battery above 45°C or incinerate the battery.
This product must not be thrown away with household waste. This product must be disposed of in a regulated recycling centre able to process electric and electronic equipment. By collecting and recycling your waste you are contributing to saving our planet’s natural resources and ensuring that this product is correctly disposed of in an ecological way. Please take care of the environment by disposing of this device at your local waste disposalcenter.

This product is covered by a two year warranty from the time of purchase in accordance with all legal requirements and consumer rights in the areas of distribution. The conditions and application of this warranty are available from the reseller of this product.
