Clear Jammed Nails & Reset Striker
Instructions for clearing jammed nails and resetting the striker on Milwaukee M18™ and M12™ nailers.
Specific model mentioned: M18 FUEL™ 21° and 30° Framing Nailer.
Service Guide: Reset Striker
Step 1: Preparation
Remove the battery and all nails from the magazine. Proceed to the next step.

Note: If your problem is not addressed below, see reverse side for service information.
Step 2: Check Striker Position
Inspect the striker for an incorrect position. This may or may not be visible. If the striker does not require a reset, proceed to the steps for clearing a jammed nail.

Step 3: Adjust Contact Bracket and Power On
Adjust the contact bracket all the way out to its minimum depth setting. Attach a charged battery. Power the tool back on.

Step 4: Reset Striker
Press the contact bracket firmly against a hard surface that can withstand impact. While holding the bracket against the surface, pull and hold back the nail pusher. Fire the tool. You should hear the striker reset itself.
