Thank you for purchasing the Targus ASP96RGL/ASP96RGLX Combo Cable Lock. The ASP96RGL/ASP96RGLX helps protect your valuable device from theft using a resettable four-digit combination lock. The resettable combination lock eliminates the need for keys and enables you to change your combination periodically for increased security.

Product Overview

The Targus Combo Cable Lock provides security for your valuable devices against theft. It features a resettable four-digit combination lock, eliminating the need for keys and allowing for periodic changes to the combination for enhanced security.

Key Components:

Combination Dials: Wheels used to set and enter the combination code.
Combination Windows: Displays the currently set combination.
Locking Jaws: The mechanism that secures the cable.
Crown: A component used in the locking/unlocking mechanism.

Setting the Combination

To reset the combination from the default 0-0-0-0:

Press the reset screw and turn it 90° anticlockwise.
Select your new code and record it in a safe place.
Press the reset screw again and turn it 90° clockwise to secure the new combination.

Locking and Unlocking the Device

To Lock the Device:

Ensure the crown is dialed fully anticlockwise. Insert the locking tip into the slot.
Turn the crown clockwise to its limit to ensure the tips are fully expanded.
Turn the dials to the correct combination.
Scramble the dials to lock the device.
Rotate the crown anti-clockwise to its limit.

To Unlock the Device:

Using the dials, enter the correct combination.
The combination appears in the windows.
Press and hold the locking button to realign the locking teeth.
Remove the Combination Cable Lock from your notebook computer’s lock slot.

Securing Options

Option A: Secure with the Anchor (Sold Separately)

This option involves using an anchor base (e.g., DEFCON Security BasePlate - PA400P) to secure the cable lock.

Option B: Securing Without Anchor

This option describes how to secure the device without using a separate anchor base.
