Cudy AP3000 Quick Installation Guide
1. Power the Device
Choose one of the following methods to power the device:
- Method A - DC Adapter: Connect the device using a DC adapter.
- Method B - PoE Adapter: Connect the device using a PoE adapter.
- Method C - PoE Switch: Connect the device using a PoE switch.
2. Configure the AP
Method A - Configure with an AP Controller (or a Cudy Mesh device)
Connect the AP to your Cudy Controller/Mesh Device. This connection can optionally be made via a switch or PoE adapter. Wait for the LED on the AP to turn blue, indicating it is connected to the Internet. By default, the Wi-Fi name (SSID) and password will be the same as the main device.
Note: If the AP was previously configured, press and hold the Reset button for 2 seconds to enable device adoption.
Method B - Without an AP Controller
Connect the AP to an internet source device such as a modem, router, or wall outlet. Alternatively, place the AP near a known Wi-Fi network.
Connect your device (e.g., smartphone, computer) to the AP's Wi-Fi network. Use the network name (SSID) and password printed on the bottom of the router.
Follow the on-screen illustrations to configure the AP.
LED Status Indicators:
- Off: Device is off.
- Red: Device is booting up or has an error.
- Blue: Device is operating normally and connected to the internet.
- Flashing blue: Device is connecting to the internet or a controller.
- Yellow: Device is in a configuration mode or has a temporary issue.
- Flashing yellow: Device is performing a firmware update.
- Alternating Red, Blue, and Yellow: Device is resetting to factory defaults.
Accessing the Configuration Interface:
You can access the AP's configuration interface via a web browser by navigating to http://cudyap.net/
. The default username is 'admin' and the password can be found on the device label or in the full manual.
The AP supports various operation modes:
- Wireless Router
- Wireless Access Point
- Wireless Extender
- WISP
The System Wizard can guide you through the initial setup, including setting the 2.4G and 5G SSIDs (e.g., Cudy-XXXX and Cudy-XXXX-5G).
