- Driver Monitoring System (DMS) Sensor
- USB Adaptor (Choose one of the following):
- Male-to-male pass-through
- USB HUB
- Both options must use GT32 connectors

Image Description: A black Netradyne Driver Monitoring System (DMS) sensor with a lens and attached cables.
Step 1: Install the D-450
Assume that a D-450 is already installed in the vehicle.
During the power cable routing process, attach the male-to-male adaptor or USB Hub between the D-450 and the DMS USB connection.
Image Description: A vehicle dashboard, likely from a Ford truck, showing the Netradyne Driver•i D-450 device mounted near the rearview mirror. The device is black and has several cables connected.
Step 2: Place the DMS on the Vehicle Dash
- Without removing the tape backing on the VHB (Very High Bond) adhesive, place the DMS sensor flat against the vehicle dash.
- Angle the sensor towards the driver, ensuring no field of view (FOV) obstructions.
- The mount must be flat against the dash.
- Loosen the screws on the DMS mount to allow for adjustment.
Step 3: Pair the DMS using the Installer App
Connect to the D-450 using the Driver•i Installer App on your mobile phone.
Navigate to the 'Accessories' tab within the app.
Pair the DMS by scanning the Serial Number of the DMS sensor.
Visual Aid: The Installer App interface shows connection status, device information (Driver Version, FAN, GPS, IMEI, SIM), and available accessories. It prompts the user to scan the QR code or manually enter the serial number for the DMS Sensor. Screenshots depict successful pairing and calibration progress.
Step 4: Calibrating the DMS
While still connected to the D-450 via the Installer App, select the "calibrate sensor" option for the DMS.
Adjust the position of the DMS until all four indicator dots (representing pitch, yaw, roll, and face alignment) turn green. Refer to Figure 4 for visual guidance.
The installer should be seated in the driver's seat, looking straight ahead at the road.
When ready, press "calibrate" and wait for the calibration process to complete.
After calibration, ensure the vehicle installation of the D-450 is complete, then close the app.
This process may require two people:
- One person sits in the driver's seat, acting as the focus for the DMS.
- The second person sits in the passenger seat and adjusts the DMS position.
Visual Aid: The app guides the user through calibration, showing instructions like "Do not look to the left or right or directly at the camera during calibration" and "Please look straight ahead towards the road while the camera calibrates itself." It also shows the "START CALIBRATING" button and the visual indicators for PITCH, YAW, ROLL, and FACE. A final screen indicates "Calibration Successful."
Step 5: Apply VHB to Mount Location
Once calibration is successful, tighten the screws on the DMS mount.
Mark the edges of the mount on the dash using masking tape to create a boundary.
Carefully remove the paper covering the VHB adhesive on the mount.
Place the mount back onto the marked area on the dash.
Recalibrate the DMS system one more time to ensure it has not moved during the placement process.
Image Description: A DMS sensor is shown mounted on a black bracket with a label reading "005".
