1.0 Product Description
The Bosch Smart Home Controller allows you to digitally network all Bosch Smart Home components. Using the Bosch Smart Home App, you can conveniently control these components from anywhere. The controller updates automatically to remain current, and all system data is saved locally, ensuring data security.
1.1 Intended Use
The product is intended for use exclusively with original Bosch Smart Home components and for indoor use only.
- Follow the safety instructions and directions in this manual and the Bosch Smart Home App for correct setup.
- Refer to the Technical Data section (page 14) for details.
- Avoid installation in areas with high dust, direct sunshine, or heat.

[i] To operate the controller and network Bosch Smart Home products, you need the app, an internet connection, and a standard WLAN router with a free LAN port.

3.2 Safety Instructions
[!] Fire risk: Using a power cable other than the supplied one poses a fire risk. Always use the original power cable.
The device must only be connected to an easily accessible mains socket. In case of danger, the mains plug must be pulled out of the socket.
Due to external factors like radio communication interruptions, remote or automated appliance control might not always execute commands correctly or display the correct status. This could lead to property damage or injury.
- Ensure no one is at risk during remote or automated control.
- Exercise caution when setting up or adjusting controls and regularly check the desired operation mode.

4.1 Product Overview

5.0 Installation and Setup
5.1 Downloading the App
[i] Before you start: Download the Bosch Smart Home App. It is required for installation, configuration, and control.
For Android devices:
- Open Google Play.
- Search for "Bosch Smart Home".
- Select the "Bosch Smart Home App".
- Tap "Install".
For Apple iOS devices:
- Open the App Store.
- Search for "Bosch Smart Home".
- Select the "Bosch Smart Home App".
- Tap "Get".
[i] WLAN access required: To set up the controller, the Bosch Smart Home App must be on your mobile device, and you must be within range of your WLAN network router.

5.2 Installing the Controller
Diagram: A network cable connects the controller to a router (labeled 'WWW'), and a power cable connects the controller to a wall socket.
Insert the network cable into the controller and a free LAN port on your WLAN router. Connect the controller to the power socket using the power cable. After the device starts, the LEDs will indicate the initialization status.
[i] When connecting the controller to the internet for the first time, it will automatically search for and install software updates. This process may take up to 30 minutes. Controller setup cannot begin until it is complete.

5.3 Configuring the Controller

The controller must be the first device connected to the app. Afterwards, you can connect additional Bosch Smart Home products to expand your system. Start the app and wait for it to detect the controller.
The app will prompt you to scan the QR code on the product's rear side.
The app will then guide you through the installation process.

Next, the app will prompt you to press and hold the function button on the controller for approximately 3 seconds.
The following steps occur in the app:
- Registration: Set your system password. This password is needed for integrating more mobile devices or resetting the controller to factory settings.
- Remote access configuration: The app will confirm when the controller is completely set up. All controller LEDs will light up white.
5.4 Adding Further Devices
Once the controller is installed, you can add more Bosch Smart Home products via the app. Follow the instruction manual for each specific device.
6.0 Fixing

The controller can be used lying flat or mounted on the wall.
6.1 Wall Mounting
[!] When choosing a mounting location and drilling, pay attention to potential electrical lines and/or supply lines behind the wall.

To mount the controller on the wall, use the provided wall mount, plugs, and screws.
- Hold the wall mount at the required location on your wall and mark the positions for the drill holes.
- Drill the holes and insert the plugs.
- Fit the wall mount and screw it tight.
- Attach the controller to the wall mount until it clicks into place.
7.0 Maintenance and Care
The product is maintenance-free. Repairs should only be performed by qualified persons.
Clean the product with a soft, clean, dry, and lint-free cloth. Do not use cleaning agents containing solvents.
