SE10x Earset Microphone
Omnidirectional Earset Microphone with Miniature Condenser Capsule
Introduction
Congratulations on your purchase of the Samson SE10x Earset Microphone. The SE10x is a low profile, miniature condenser Earset microphone with a 3mm capsule. With its omnidirectional pick up pattern, the SE10x delivers linear off-axis frequency response, resulting in a clear and articulate sound perfect for house-of-worship, presentation, theater and fitness applications. The microphone has been specially treated with a water resistant coating providing extra protection from sweat and other moisture. In addition, there is a moisture guard drip-ring to further protect the capsule and ensure reliable performance.
The SE10x Earset Microphone is well-suited for use with Samson wireless systems, and with four included adapter cables, the microphone can be used with most popular wireless systems. Other accessories included in the kit are a clothing collar clip, four windscreens and a carry case that holds the SE10x and all the accessories.

Connector Cables
The SE10x includes four cables with adapters for some of the most popular wireless microphone beltpack transmitters.
- 3.5mm Connector: Works with Sennheiser® wireless systems
- Hirose® 4-Pin Connector: Works with most Audio-Technica® wireless systems
- Switchcraft® TA3F Connector: Works with Samson AirLine ATX Series, Concert Series and most AKG® wireless systems
- Switchcraft® TA4F Connector: Works with most Shure® wireless systems
To connect the cable to the Earset:
- Choose the right cable and connector that works with your wireless system.
- Line the cable up to the threaded terminal on the back of the SE10x and screw the cable into the Earset. Do not over-tighten the cable.

Mic Positioning
The SE10x microphone is designed to be worn on either the left or right ear. The microphone can be re-sized to fit nearly any size ear simply by bending the wire into a new shape. Be sure to fit the microphone's ear band behind your ear. For optimal placement, please follow the directions below:
Position the SE10x microphone element about 0.25" – 1" behind the corner of your mouth. Since the SE10x is an omnidirectional capsule, the end of the microphone does not need to be facing your mouth.
To avoid breath noise and p-pops, do not place the microphone directly in front of your mouth or use one of the included windscreens.
If the microphone is too far away from your mouth, you will need to increase the gain and reduce isolation. To minimize additional noise, do not locate the microphone tight against your cheek.
Illustration of a person's head from the side, showing the SE10x microphone positioned correctly. The microphone element is placed approximately 0.25 to 1 inch behind the corner of the mouth, with the boom angled slightly upwards. The ear loop is shown fitting comfortably behind the ear.
Illustration of a person's head from the side, showing incorrect microphone placement. The microphone element is shown too far from the mouth, indicated by crossed lines, suggesting increased gain and reduced isolation would be needed. Another incorrect placement shows the microphone too close to the cheek, potentially causing additional noise.

Graphical Data
Polar Pattern: A circular polar pattern graph showing decibel (dB) levels at various angles. The pattern is nearly circular, indicating an omnidirectional pickup pattern with consistent sensitivity across all angles.
Frequency Response: A frequency response graph with frequency in Hertz (Hz) on the x-axis, ranging from 20 Hz to 20,000 Hz, and decibels (dB) on the y-axis, ranging from -20 dB to +10 dB. The graph shows a relatively flat response across the audible frequency range, with minor variations.
