Introduction
Thank you for purchasing an RCF mixing console. The F 6X is a versatile audio mixer equipped with all the tools needed for accurately processing multiple audio signals from a variety of sources.
RCF mixing consoles produce clear sound, accurate dynamics, and extreme versatility, designed to match perfectly with RCF active speakers. All RCF mixing consoles undergo rigorous quality tests to ensure outstanding reliability.
The F 6X is a versatile analogue audio mixer with an internal PRO DSP FX unit offering 16 predefined effects presets: 10 reverbs, 3 delays, and 3 modulation effects.
Main Characteristics
F 6X Audio Inputs
- Channels 1 and 2: Microphone or Line inputs with separate XLR and TRS jack connectors, three-band EQ.
- Channels 3/4 and 5/6: STEREO inputs for LINE level stereo signals (RCA or double TRS jack) with two-band equalizer.
F 6X Audio Outputs
- MAIN MIX: Main stereo output with XLR male connectors (balanced) and TRS jack.
- AUX/FX SEND: Auxiliary send (TRS jack).
- FOOTSWITCH: TS jack socket for foot control to activate/deactivate effects.
- PHONES: Headphone outputs (1/4" stereo jack).

Front Panel Functions
[1] MIC INPUTS: 2 mono Mic inputs via XLR connectors. Balanced XLR Microphone preamp input provides a gain range from 0 dB to -50 dB. Features an 80 Hz Hi-pass filter. +48 V Phantom Power is provided for Mic inputs 1-2.
[2] LINE INPUTS: TRS jack inputs 1 and 2 provide a gain of +20 dB to -30 dB to line level signals.
[3] STEREO INPUTS: RCA and TRS jacks 3/4 and 5/6 provide stereo inputs for line sources. Mono sources can be connected to jack inputs 3 and 5.
[4] MAIN OUTPUTS: +4 dB balanced audio output from MAIN MIX. Connect main speaker systems to XLRs (L and R). These outputs are also available on TRS jacks.
[5] AUX/FX OUTPUT: +4 dB balanced audio output from the auxiliary send. Connect stage monitors or external effects here.
[6] FOOTSWITCH: TS jack connector for momentary switches or foot pedals to MUTE and UN-MUTE the internal FX return signal.
[7] CHANNEL 1 AND 2 GAIN: Controls the gain for MIC input (XLR) from 0 dB to -50 dB, or LINE input (TRS jack) from +20 dB to -30 dB.
[8] CHANNEL 3/4 AND 5/6 GAIN: Controls the gain for STEREO LINE INPUT (TRS jack) from +20 dB to -30 dB.
[9] +48 V SWITCH: Enables +48 V Phantom Power for Mic inputs 1-2, necessary for Condenser and Electret Microphones or D.I. box usage.
[10] LEVEL METER: 9-LED element level meter for the Main Mix output level. Indicates signal level and 'CLIP' to prevent distortion.
[11] MONO CHANNELS EQ: Sophisticated 3-band EQ for mono channels: High (+/-15 dB at 10 kHz, shelving), Mid (+/-15 dB at 1.250 kHz, bell), Low (+/-15 dB at 100 Hz, shelving).
[12] STEREO CHANNELS EQ: HIGH (+/-15 dB at 10 kHz, shelving) and LOW (+/-15 dB at 100 Hz, shelving) EQ for stereo channels.
[13] PRO DSP FX: Internal 16 preset FX board. Selects between 10 reverbs, 3 delays, and 3 modulation effects.

[14] AUX/FX SEND: Post-fader auxiliary send for each channel, feeding the PRO DSP FX board and the AUX OUTPUT jack.
[15] AUX/FX MASTER KNOB: Controls the master level of the single AUX SEND.
[16] PHONES LEVEL: Controls the output level of the PHONES OUTPUT, which reproduces the Main Mix signal.
[17] PAN: Controls the stereo positioning of the signal within the MAIN MIX stereo image.
[18] BAL: Controls the balancing of a stereo channel within the MAIN MIX stereo image.
[19] FX RET ROTARY KNOB: Controls the level of the signal coming from the internal PRO DSP FX.
[20] PHONES OUTPUT: Connect headphones here to listen to the MAIN MIX. Adjust the PHONES LEVEL control ([16]) to minimum before connecting headphones to avoid hearing loss.
[21] MONO CHANNELS ROTARY KNOB SECTION: Controls the single level of the 2 mono input channels.
[22] STEREO CHANNELS ROTARY KNOB SECTION: Controls the single level of the 2 stereo input channels.
[23] FX MUTE BUTTON: Inhibits the FX RETURN signal to the Main Mix when pressed. A red LED indicates when the FX RET channel is muted.
[24] MAIN MIX ROTARY KNOB: Controls the level of the MAIN MIX output.
Rear Panel Functions
[25] POWER SWITCH: Use this switch to turn the F 6X mixer on and off.
[26] EXTERNAL POWER SUPPLY INLET: Connect the external power supply here. Accepts power from 100 V to 240 V AC 50-60 Hz.
Connectors
1/4" JACK CONNECTOR
- BALANCED (TRS): Tip = Hot, Ring = Cold, Sleeve = Ground.
- UNBALANCED (TS): Tip = Hot, Sleeve = Ground.
- PHONES (TRS): Tip = Left Channel, Ring = Right Channel, Sleeve = Ground.
XLR CONNECTOR
- Connector pinout: 1 = earth, 2 = audio signal (+ or “hot”), 3 = audio signal (– or "cold").

NOTE ON CABLES FOR AUDIO SIGNALS: Use screened cables and avoid laying them near equipment producing strong electromagnetic fields, power mains cables, or speaker lines to prevent noise.
