ASCO 641 Lighting Contactor Panel

Data Sheet

Standard and Custom Solutions for Area and Security Applications

The ASCO 641 Lighting Control Panel provides a complete, single-enclosure solution featuring multiple ASCO Lighting Contactors and a range of related controls and accessories. This design saves space and allows for quick installation with minimal on-site wiring.

All components in the 641 Lighting Control Panel are factory wired and tested to ensure proper system operation and long-term reliability. Integrating components into a single enclosure eliminates the need to source from multiple manufacturers, simplifying scheduling, billing, and coordination.

The ASCO-engineered panel complies with applicable code standards. Notably, certain lighting contactors are UL listed for short circuit withstand current ratings.

The panel is fully documented to facilitate troubleshooting. It is built upon ASCO's 100-year legacy of applied technology and the quality assurance inherent in every ASCO product.

Custom configurations can incorporate a variety of controls and accessories to complement one or more ASCO Lighting Contactors.

A Range of Lighting Control Applications

The lighting control panel is well-suited for ballast lighting, tungsten, and general-purpose loads. The ASCO 641A Lighting Contactor Panel meets the needs of large-area applications, while the 641S is designed for security applications, and the 641 AS is suitable for both. Applications include large areas, stadium parking garages, and facilities utilizing Time of Day (TOD) photo-sensor control for automatic on/off operation.

Additional applications include signage, interior and exterior building lighting, interior safety lighting, recreational lighting, and any situation requiring manual on/off operation.

The 641 Lighting Control Panel is offered in standard and highly customized configurations. Three standard configurations ensure quicker delivery, while customized options provide the flexibility to meet specific site requirements.

Standard Configurations

Standard panels are equipped with the ASCO 918 Lighting Contactor, which utilizes ASCO's electrically operated, mechanically held solenoid operator, also found in ASCO power transfer switches. This solenoid design does not rely on magnetic latches or impressed current to maintain contact positions. It provides quieter operation, extended lifespan, and eliminates the continuous power drain associated with electrically held solenoid designs.

This contactor is specifically engineered for metal halide, mercury vapor, quartz halogen, tungsten, and fluorescent lighting systems.

Custom Configurations

Custom configurations for comprehensive lighting control needs can include up to 10 lighting contactors within a single enclosure, along with associated controls and accessories. The panel is also available with the 920 Lighting Contactor, creating the ASCO 642 Lighting Contactor Panel.

Available controls and accessories include relays, building management interfaces, time clocks, photocell interfaces, pilot lights, control switches, power fusing, and other functionalities.
