2.1 Overview of the Most Common Damage
Damage | Cause | Measure |
---|---|---|
Stains | Food boiling over | Remove boiled-over food immediately with a glass scraper. |
Stains | Unsuitable cleaning products | Only use cleaning products suitable for glass ceramic. |
Scratches | Salt, sugar or sand | Do not use the hob as a work surface or storage space. |
Scratches | Rough pot or pan bases | Check your cookware. |
Discoloration | Unsuitable cleaning products | Only use cleaning products suitable for glass ceramic. |
Discoloration | Pan abrasion, e.g. aluminium | Lift pots and pans to move on the hob. |

3 Environmental Protection and Saving Energy
3.1 Disposing of Packaging
Packaging materials are environmentally compatible and recyclable. Sort components by type and dispose of them separately.
3.2 Saving Energy
Follow these instructions for less energy consumption:
- Select the cooking zone to match the pan size. Centre the cookware.
- Use cookware with a base diameter matching the hotplate diameter. (Tip: Upper diameter is often larger than base diameter).
- Unsuitable cookware or incompletely covered zones consume more energy.
- Cover saucepans with lids. Cooking without a lid uses considerably more energy.
- Lift lids as infrequently as possible.
- Use a glass lid to see inside without lifting.
- Use pots and pans with flat bases. Uneven bases increase energy consumption.
- Use cookware suitable for the food quantity. Large cookware with little food needs more energy to heat up.
- Cook with minimal water. More water requires more energy to heat.
- Turn down to a lower power level early.
- Utilize residual heat. For long cooking times, switch off the hotplate 5-10 minutes before the end. Unused residual heat increases consumption.
Product Information according to (EU) 66/2014 is available on the appliance pass and online.
