Unit Components

Safety Instructions

Get Started
Step 1: Plug the power cable into a wall outlet. ?
Step 2: Press the On/Off button ⏻ to turn the unit on and press the airflow button ? to adjust the fan speed.
Controls and Indicators
Control the fan purifier using the buttons on the control panel. The LED light indicates active status.
On/Off
Press the On/Off button ⏻ to turn the unit On or Off.
Airflow speed
Available airflow speed options are: 1, 2, 3, Auto mode, and Night mode. Press the airflow button ? to switch between these options.
Auto mode
In Auto mode, the fan purifier automatically adjusts airflow based on air quality information from the sensor.
Night mode
In Night mode, the fan purifier uses low fan speed and dimmed LED lights. All lights on the unit dim off after 5 seconds. ?
Autostart
The fan purifier has an Autostart feature. The unit automatically restarts at the last set fan speed if a power failure occurs, the unit is unplugged, or a power switch timer is used.
Filter indicator
The unit indicates when it is time to replace the filter. A red light ? signifies that the filter has no lifetime left.
Air Quality Information
The air quality levels for particulate matter (PM) are indicated using a color scale on the air quality indicator. This scale provides a reading for PM2.5, which are particles with a diameter of 2.5 micrometers or less.
Air quality level (PM 2.5)
- Polluted: Indicated by a red color.
- Moderate: Indicated by an orange color.
- Good: Indicated by a blue color.
Filters
The fan purifier comes with pre-filters and a main filter installed. These filters purify the air from particles. For optimal performance, clean the pre-filter regularly and change the main filter when the filter indicator signals a change. To find the correct replacement filter, visit www.blueair.com. The model number is located on the unit's rating label.
Important: Always turn off and disconnect the appliance from the power supply before changing filters, cleaning, or performing maintenance.

Button Control Functions
Change filter
When the indicator light turns red (typically after 6 months of operation), the main filter needs to be changed. ?️
Filter reset button
Press and hold the On/Off button ⏻ for 7 seconds to reset the filter replacement indicator. ?
Cleaning and Changing the Pre-filters
For best performance, clean the pre-filter regularly. Vacuum the exterior of the fabric pre-filter with a soft brush attachment to remove dust. If a deeper clean is needed, wash it in the washing machine according to the instructions on the pre-filter's label.
Important: Before removing the fabric pre-filter, turn off and unplug the unit.
- Step 1: Turn the unit off and unplug it. ?
- Step 2: Gently press the release buttons on both sides of the unit until you hear a click. This releases the housing.
- Step 3: Remove the filter and frame from the unit.
- Step 4: Separate the main filter and pre-filter from the filter frame.
- Step 5: Carefully remove the fabric pre-filter from the main filter.
- Step 6: Wash the pre-filter in the washing machine, following the instructions on the pre-filter's label.
- Step 7: After washing, reverse the procedure (steps 4, 3, 2, and 1) to reassemble and plug in the unit.
Changing the Main Filter
The recommended time for main filter replacement is after 6 months of operation. When changing the filter, vacuum any dust that may have accumulated inside the fan purifier.
- Step 1: Turn the unit off and unplug it. ?
- Step 2: Carefully place the unit on a stable, soft surface with the filter frame facing up.
- Step 3: Gently press the release buttons on both sides of the unit until you hear a click.
- Step 4: Remove the back panel of the unit and separate the main filter from the filter frame.
- Step 5: Carefully detach the fabric pre-filter from the old main filter and attach it onto the new main filter.
- Step 6: Insert the new main filter back into the filter frame and lock it into position. Press firmly until you hear a click.
- Step 7: Plug in and turn on the unit. ?
- Step 8: Press and hold the On/Off button ⏻ for 7 seconds to reset the filter replacement indicator. The light will flash and then turn white once reset.
Care and Maintenance
General
- Disconnect the unit from the power supply before performing any maintenance.
- Do not allow foreign objects to enter the air inlets or outlets, as this can cause electric shock or damage the air purifier.
- Never clean with gasoline, chemical solvents, or corrosive materials, as these can damage the appliance.
- Ensure the unit is completely dry before connecting it to power.
- Do not wash the main filter; it is not washable or reusable.
Cleaning
- Wash the pre-filter according to its label instructions or vacuum it with a soft brush attachment (not included).
- Wipe the exterior of the fan purifier with a soft, clean, damp cloth.
- Vacuum the small air inlets using a soft brush attachment (not included).
- Vacuum the inside of the fan purifier using a soft brush attachment (not included).
- Clean and check the power cable and power plug for wear or damage.
- Clean the sensor when changing the main filter.
Cleaning the Air Quality Sensor
The air quality sensor is located on the side of the fan purifier.
Important: Do not use fingers or any unrecommended objects to clean inside the sensor inlet.
- Step 1: Turn the unit off and unplug it. ?
- Step 2: Gently press the release buttons on both sides of the unit until you hear a click.
- Step 3: Remove the back panel of the unit.
- Step 4: Press the release tab on the inside of the unit to open the lid covering the sensor and remove the lid.
- Step 5: Using circular motions, gently clean the sensor with a clean cotton swab. Attach the sensor lid when done.
- Step 6: Insert the main filter back into the filter frame and lock it into position. Press firmly until you hear a click.
- Step 7: Plug in and turn on the unit. ?
Disposal and Recycling
The appliance should be disposed of or recycled as electrical waste. The filter may be recycled as plastic. Not all facilities can recycle the unit or filter. For questions regarding disposal and recycling, contact your local recycling facility or Blueair dealer for the correct method.
