Nailer Safety Warnings

Operation
General Operation Warnings
- Do not use if trigger does not actuate properly.
- Check workpiece contact mechanism frequently.
- Do not use a tool that does not work correctly.
- Always assume the tool contains nails.
- Do not carry tool by trigger; accidental discharge may occur.
- Handle tool with care: respect it, no horseplay, never pull trigger unless nose is directed toward work, keep others at a safe distance.
- Choice of triggering method is important.
- Tool is designed for single-hand use; do not hold by magazine front. Keep body parts away from magazine bottom.
- Do not point tool at yourself or others, loaded or not.
- Do not actuate unless intending to drive a nail.
- Ensure workpiece contact is fully positioned above workpiece.
- Do not drive nails near edge of material; workpiece may split, nail may ricochet.
- Keep hands and body parts clear of work area; use clamps. Secure workpiece properly.
- Keep face and body parts away from back of tool cap in restricted areas.
- Tool recoils after driving fastener; do not prevent recoil. Grip handle firmly.
- Do not drive fasteners on top of others or at steep angles.
Loading Tool
- Do not load with controls activated.
- Never place hand/body part in discharge area.
- Never point tool at anyone.
- Do not pull trigger or depress workpiece contact accidentally.
Attaching Belt Hook
Align belt hook and screw with side screw hole. Tighten securely with a Phillips head screwdriver.
Installing/Removing Battery Pack
- To Install: Align rib with groove, snap latches into place.
- To Remove: Locate latches and depress to release.
- Note: Squeeze LED light grip switch to activate nailer.
- Refer to charger/battery manuals for charging instructions.
No-Mar Pad
The no-mar pad prevents marring soft woods. Remove by pulling down and away from the nose. Replace by fitting over nose and pushing up. An extra pad is stored on the magazine.
Loading the Tool with Brad Nails
- WARNING: Use only recommended nails.
- WARNING: Keep tool pointed away from yourself and others when loading.
- Remove battery pack.
- Open magazine by squeezing release button and sliding cover.
- Place nails in channel, tips pointing down.
- Close magazine cover until it snaps shut. Ensure it is securely locked.
- Reinstall battery and reactivate tool.
Removing Nails from the Tool
- Remove battery pack.
- Depress magazine release button.
- Remove nails and close magazine.
Setting the Air Pressure
- Pressure depends on nail size and workpiece material.
- Test drive a nail into scrap material.
- Remove battery pack.
- Turn air pressure dial clockwise (increase) or counterclockwise (decrease).
- Fine adjustments may require depth of drive adjustment.
- Note: At maximum pressure, unit may not deliver nail; may need to decrease pressure.
Depth of Drive Adjustment
- Adjust depth beyond air pressure. Test on scrap workpiece.
- To determine depth: adjust air pressure, drive test nail, then use depth adjustment. Harder materials/longer nails need more force.
- Remove battery pack.
- Turn depth adjustment knob left/right.
- Reinstall battery and reactivate tool.
- Drive test nail after each adjustment.
- Note: Set depth at shallowest setting that meets needs.
Driving Brad Nails
- WARNING: Never wedge or hold back workpiece contact mechanism.
- Mode selector: Single Sequential Actuation (precise placement) or Contact Actuation (high productivity).
- Tool drives nail when trigger is depressed and workpiece contact is depressed.
- Single Sequential Actuation:
- Remove battery pack. Slide selector to (T).
- WARNING: Ensure selector is securely seated in (T) or (TTT) position.
- Reinstall battery. Grip tool firmly. Position nose on work surface. Push tool to depress workpiece contact. Squeeze trigger to drive nail.
- Note: Hold trigger until drive cycle complete. Remove finger from trigger when done.
- Contact Actuation:
- Remove battery pack. Slide selector to (TTT).
- Reinstall battery. Grip tool firmly. Squeeze and hold trigger while pushing tool against work surface to depress workpiece contact and drive nail.
- Note: Hold trigger until drive cycle complete. Remove finger from trigger when done.
- Note: In Contact Actuation Mode, tool can also be operated by depressing workpiece contact and squeezing trigger.
Dry-Fire Lockout
Prevents operation when few fasteners remain (0-5 nails indicated by low nail indicator window). Reload to resume.
LED Worklights/Diagnostic Feedback
Press LED worklight grip switch to turn on. Lights indicate battery charge and tool function. Flashing lights may indicate a low battery or malfunction; consult Troubleshooting.
Removing a Jammed Brad Nail
- WARNING: Remove battery pack before clearing jams.
- Remove battery pack.
- Open magazine, remove nails.
- Pull latch, open jam release.
- Insert flat blade screwdriver into driving mechanism, push back to free nail.
- Remove bent nail.
- Close jam release and latch.
- Reinstall nails, close magazine.
- Reinstall battery, reactivate tool.
- Note: Deep driving, debris, or jams can cause driver blade to stick. Depress workpiece contact and squeeze trigger on scrap wood to reset.
