Operational Modes & Features

Scan Modes

TO (Time Scanning): Pauses scanning upon signal detection, continues after ~5 seconds even if signal persists.

CO (Carrier Scanning): Pauses scanning on channel detection, stays on frequency until signal disappears, with a 2-second delay before resuming.

SE (Search Scanning): Exits scanning when a signal is detected and stays at that frequency.

FM Radio Function

To use FM radio:

  1. Turn on FM function; the screen displays the current FM frequency.
  2. Press [Up]/[Down] keys or input frequency (88.1-108MHz) to change. Press [#] key to scan FM frequencies automatically.
  3. Adjust volume using the Power/volume knob.
  4. Press the FM key again to exit FM mode.

Frequency Scan

Scan other radios' CTCSS/DCS and frequency to establish contact. This function can scan U/V/200M/350M bands. The [P1] key switches the band to be scanned. After scanning frequency, it proceeds to scan CTCSS/DCS. If none is found, 'NONE' is displayed. Scanned data can be saved to a channel using the [Save] key, or another scan can be initiated with [Up]/[Down] keys.

DTMF (Dual-Tone Multi-Frequency)

DTMF Encode:

  • Quick Transmitting Encode: While transmitting, press digit keys (0-9, A, B, C, D, *, #) to transmit DTMF codes. Pressing and holding transmits continuously.
  • Transmitting Encode after Editing: In standby mode, press [#] to enter DTMF edit menu. Input 0-9, A, B, C, D, *, # (up to 6 digits). Press [#] to end. Press PTT to transmit. Press [Left Arrow] to delete. Press [Up Arrow] to exit edit mode.

DTMF Decode: Used to identify which radio is transmitting.

ANI Name Display

Displays the name of the transmitting radio. Up to 60 names can be selected (50 pre-defined, 10 editable via programming software).

GPS Function

Access the GPS positioning interface by pressing [Up] or [Down] keys. Allows switching between coordinate and image modes. Features a backtracking function to store a starting point and view real-time direction and distance, aiding navigation.

Wireless Programming via Bluetooth

Enables programming the radio wirelessly using Bluetooth technology.

Dual PTT

Set Side Key 2 as PTT-B. Press the main PTT to transmit on Band A, and PTT-B to transmit on Band B.

AM Mode

Supports AM mode receiving for frequencies between 108-136MHz.
