RISK OF INJURY.
- Armortek kits are heavy. Fully built kits can weigh well over 100kg. Extreme care must be taken when handling the parts and the kits.
- Always ensure that the tracks and/or wheels are blocked from moving as built kits can roll very easily when the Motion Option Pack is not installed.
- Armortek kits should always be stored at ground level where there is no risk of falling and causing injuries or damage.
- Many parts have been post-machining treated to remove sharp edges, however, some pieces may still be sharp and extra care must always be taken when handling.
- Parts and packaging material, especially plastic bags, must be kept away from children.
3. Tools Required
The following tools should be to hand:
- De-burring tool – useful to remove any burr that may have been left post-machining.
- Counter sink tool – useful in case counter sunk holes need to be cleared.
- Hex or Allen keys in sizes 1.5mm, 2mm, 2.5mm, 3mm, 4mm, 5mm and 6mm.
- Combination spanners in sizes 5mm, 5.5mm, 7mm and 8mm. These are used to fit the hex head screws.
- Small adjustable spanner (monkey wrench) – useful for making minor adjustments to bent components.
- Small flat blade and Phillips screwdriver.
- Long nosed pliers – useful for holding nuts and bolts in awkward places.
- Combination pliers for general use.
- Set of needle files – useful to remove sharp edges and correcting any minor hole misalignment.
- In addition, a selection of larger files and a power drill with 3mm, 4mm and 5mm drill bits (for clearing through holes) can be useful to speed things up.
