LC90 Portable Multi-Band Internet Radio
User Manual
1. Getting Started
The LC90 is powered by 2 x 18650 rechargeable lithium batteries. A USB-Type-C cable is supplied in the package.
Power On/Off: Press and hold the power button ( ) for 2 seconds to turn the radio ON or OFF. Press and hold for 5 seconds until the white screen appears to force restart the radio.
Initial Power Issue: If the radio has no power upon receipt, the 18650 battery voltage may be low due to air transportation regulations (not exceeding 3.65V). It is recommended to charge the battery for a while before use. The battery has a capacity of approximately 5400mAh and requires a longer charging time. Charging overnight is recommended for a full charge.
2. Charging Battery
Connect the Type-C cable to a 5V power adapter. Most mobile phone chargers can be used. The mobile quick charge protocol ensures the charger output voltage adjusts to 5V. Do not use chargers for iPads or computers.
Note: Charging may take longer if the radio is playing while charging.
3. Bluetooth Playback
Press the BT ( ) button to enter Bluetooth mode. On your device, open Bluetooth settings, activate pairing mode, and scan for devices. Select "Choyong-LC90" to connect. You can then play music from your device and control playback (next, previous, pause) using the radio. The connection will automatically restore when both devices are in range and the radio is in Bluetooth mode.
4. Software Update
Software updates may be released to upgrade features. Check regularly to keep your radio up to date. Caution: Do not perform any operations during the upgrade process, as it may damage the radio.
5. Telescopic Antenna Assist for Medium Wave
An auxiliary middle wave receiving circuit is integrated. Extending the telescopic antenna can increase MW signal strength and improve SNR, especially outdoors.
6. About MW (Medium Wave)
- The radio has a built-in ferrite bar MW antenna and a telescopic antenna for MW reception. Extend the telescopic antenna to improve reception capability.
- An external antenna can be connected using the 3.5mm headphone jack and a longer wire. This can improve reception for medium, short waves, and FM. Any pin of the 3.5mm jack can serve as a signal pin. Active MW antennas are not supported.
Q: Why is the medium-wave reception performance relatively weak?
A: Due to interference from the LCD, MW reception can be weaker. Extend the telescopic antenna to enhance performance. Testing outdoors is recommended to determine if the issue is with the radio itself. For indoor use, connecting to Wi-Fi for online radios is recommended.
7. How to Adjust Meter Band and Bandwidth
- Meter Band: In the SW playback interface, press the middle of the first knob. When the meter band value blinks, turn the knob to adjust.
- Bandwidth: In the SW/MW playback interface, press the middle of the second knob. When the bandwidth value blinks, turn the knob to adjust.

Troubleshooting
Problem: Cannot connect to Wi-Fi network
- Insufficient Wi-Fi signal strength: Check distance to router. See if other devices can connect. Optimize router placement.
- Confirm internet access: Ensure the Wi-Fi network can access the internet using the same network (e.g., browse the web).
- Wi-Fi Compatibility: This radio only supports 2.4G Wi-Fi, not 5G. Check router encryption protocol; it supports WAP/WAP2, not WAP3. Wi-Fi extenders are not supported.
Problem: Connect to network successfully, but unable to play particular stations
- The station may not be broadcasting at this time or is in a different time zone.
- The station server may be overloaded.
- The internet connection may be too slow or unstable.
- The radio station link might be outdated; contact support to update the station list.
Problem: The radio screen is black and no response, regardless of any button operation/charging
Forced restart: Press and hold the ( ) button for 5 seconds until the radio restarts (shows white screen), then release. If it still doesn't work, check if the battery needs charging.
Alternative restart: Hold down the power button for 30 seconds, release, then hold down the power button again for 5 seconds until the screen lights up. The machine should function normally. If it persists, check battery charge.
Problem: The radio freezes or has no response
Forced restart the radio: Press and hold the ( ) button for 5 seconds until the radio restarts (shows white screen), then release the button. The machine should now be functioning normally.
