Key Dimensions (approximate):

[Diagram showing side view with clearances and front view with dimensions for Rear Control and Front Control models.]

Note: Use a 4' power cord to prevent interference with the storage drawer. Longer cords (4.5' to 6') may need to be managed for proper drawer closing.

Step 1: Remove Packaging Materials

Failure to remove packaging materials could result in damage to the appliance. Remove all packing parts from the oven, racks, heating elements, and drawer. Also, remove protective film and labels on the outer door, cooktop, and control panel. Consider recycling options for your appliance packaging material.

Step 2: Attach Required Filler Trim

For ALL front control installations, the included filler trim must be installed. Remove the two screws on the rear trim indicated with nearby arrows. Reuse these two screws to attach the filler trim to the back of the range.

[Diagram showing filler trim attached to the back of the range.]

Step 3: Electrical Connections

⚠️ WARNING: This appliance must be properly grounded. Failure to do so can result in electric shock.

⚠️ WARNING: All new constructions, mobile homes, recreational vehicles, and installations where local codes do not allow grounding through neutral, require a 4-conductor UL-listed range cord.

⚠️ WARNING: To prevent fire or shock, do not use an extension cord with this appliance.

⚠️ WARNING: To prevent shock, remove house fuse or open circuit breaker before beginning installation.

It is recommended that a qualified electrician connect the electrical wiring and hookup of your range. After installation, have the electrician show you how to disconnect power from the range.

You must use a single-phase, 120/208 VAC or 120/240 VAC, 60 hertz electrical system. If connecting to aluminum wiring, use properly installed connectors approved for aluminum wiring.

Effective January 1, 1996, the National Electrical Code requires new construction (not existing) to utilize a 4-conductor connection to an electric range. For installations in new construction, mobile homes, recreational vehicles, or areas where local codes prohibit grounding through the neutral conductor, refer to the four-conductor branch circuit connections section.

Check with your local utilities for applicable electrical codes. Failure to wire your oven according to governing codes could result in a hazardous condition. If no local codes apply, your oven must be wired and fused to meet the National Electrical Code, NFPA No. 70 (latest edition).

The appliance must be supplied with the proper voltage and frequency, and connected to an individual, properly grounded, 40 amp (minimum) branch circuit protected by a circuit breaker or time-delay fuse.

Use only a 3-conductor or a 4-conductor UL-listed range cord. These cords may be provided with ring terminals and a strain relief device. A range cord rated at 40 amps with 125/250 minimum volt range is required. A 50 amp range cord is not recommended but if used, it should be marked for use with nominal 1 3/8" diameter connection openings. Ensure the cable and strain relief are centered within the knockout hole to prevent edge damage.

The rating plate is located on the frame surrounding the drawer.

Step 4: Power Cord and Conduit Installation

A. Remove the wire cover from the back of the range using a 1/4" nut driver. Do not discard these screws.

[Diagram showing removal of wire cover.]

B. For 1" conduit only: Remove the knockout ring (1 3/8") located on the bracket below the terminal block using pliers.

[Diagram showing knockout ring removal.]

C. For power cord installations: Assemble the strain relief in the hole. Insert the power cord through the strain relief and tighten. Allow enough slack for terminal connection. Remove tabs on winged strain relief if needed for better fit.

Note: Do not install the power cord without a strain relief. The strain relief bracket must be installed before reinstalling the rear range wiring cover.

D. For 3/4" conduit installations: Purchase a squeeze connector matching your conduit diameter and assemble it in the hole. Insert the conduit through the connector and tighten. Allow enough slack for wire connection. Ensure the squeeze connector is installed before reinstalling the rear range wire or terminal block cover.

[Diagram showing conduit installation with squeeze connector.]

Proceed to Step 5.

Step 5: 3-Wire Installation

⚠️ WARNING: The neutral or ground wire of the power cord must connect to the neutral terminal in the center of the terminal block. The ground strap must connect the neutral terminal to the ground plate. Power leads connect to the lower left and lower right terminals. DO NOT remove the ground strap connection.

For Power Cord Installation:

  1. Remove the 3 lower terminal screws from the terminal block.
  2. Insert the 3 terminal screws through each power cord terminal ring and into the lower terminals of the terminal block. Ensure the center wire (white/neutral) connects to the center lower position of the terminal block.
  3. Tighten screws securely.

For Conduit Installation:

  1. Loosen the 3 lower terminal screws on the terminal block. Strip wire to expose tip about 5/8" long.
  2. Insert the center (white/neutral) wire tip through the bottom center terminal block opening. On some models, insert through the ground strap opening first. Insert the two side bare wire tips into the lower left and lower right terminal block openings.
  3. Tighten screws securely (35 to 50 inch-lbs.). Do not overtighten.

Note on Aluminum Wiring: Aluminum building wire may be used if rated for the correct amperage and voltage.

D. Replace the wire cover on the range back and reinstall the screws. Ensure no wires are pinched.

Proceed to Step 6.

Step 6: 4-Wire Installation

⚠️ WARNING: The neutral wire of the supply circuit connects to the center terminal. Power leads connect to the lower left and lower right terminals. The grounding lead connects to the range with the ground plate and green ground screw.

For Power Cord Installation:

  1. Remove the 3 lower terminal screws, ground screw, and ground plate. Remove and discard the ground strap. DO NOT discard any screws.
  2. Insert the ground screw through the power cord ground wire terminal ring, through the ground plate, and into the range.
  3. Insert the 3 terminal screws (removed earlier) through each power cord terminal ring and into the lower terminals of the terminal block. Ensure the center wire (white/neutral) connects to the center lower position.

Proceed to Step 7.

Step 7: Anti-Tip Device Installation

⚠️ WARNING: Tip-Over Hazard

A child or adult can tip the range and be killed. Install the anti-tip bracket provided with the unit to the wall or floor. Engage the range to the anti-tip bracket by sliding the range back such that the foot is engaged. Re-engage the anti-tip bracket if the range is moved. Failure to do so can result in death or serious burns to children or adults.

To reduce the risk of tipping, the range must be secured by a properly installed anti-tip bracket. Remove any currently used anti-tip bracket and install with the provided anti-tip bracket.

1. Determine Final Location: Before attempting to install the bracket, determine the range's final location. Remove any existing anti-tip bracket from the installation space.

2. Secure the Bracket: The bracket must be screwed to either the FLOOR or REAR WALL.

[Diagram showing bracket placement options (Loc A, B, C) and attachment methods for floor and wall.]

3. Check Engagement: To verify proper installation and engagement, look underneath the range to see that the rear leveling leg is engaged in the bracket. On some models, the storage drawer or kick panel can be removed for easier inspection. If visual inspection is not possible, slide the range forward, confirm the bracket is securely attached, and slide the range back so the rear leveling leg is under the bracket. If the range is moved for cleaning or servicing, ensure the anti-tip device is re-engaged properly upon replacement. Never completely remove leveling legs, as the range will not be secured properly.

Step 8: Level the Range

⚠️ WARNING: Never completely remove the leveling leg, as the range will not be secured to the anti-tip device properly.

A. Plug in the unit and remove the drawer (refer to owner's manual for instructions).

B. Measure the height of your countertop at the rear of the opening (X).

C. Adjust the two rear leveling legs so that the rear of the cooktop is higher than or equal to the counter (Y).

D. Slide the unit into place, ensuring the leveling legs engage the anti-tip device.

E. Look under the unit to verify the rear leg is fully engaged with the anti-tip device. If not, remove the unit and adjust the rear leg height.

F. Install racks in the oven.

G. Check for levelness by placing a spirit level on an oven shelf. Take two readings diagonally.

H. Use an adjustable wrench to adjust the front leveling legs until the range is level.

I. Position the cord so it does not interfere with the drawer.

J. Reinstall the drawer (refer to owner's manual for instructions).
