3. USING YOUR ICE MAKER
Getting Started
- Ensure the drain plug is firmly inserted before use.
- The ice maker will stop making ice if the ice bin is pulled out for more than 5 minutes. Ensure it is replaced within 5 minutes to continue the cycle.
- Locate and Clean: Place the ice maker upright on a flat, level surface with at least 6 inches (15 cm) of clearance on the sides and back for ventilation. Clean the water tank, ice bin, and ice scoop. Allow the unit to settle for at least 2 hours before first use.
- Add Water Manually: Open the front door and pull out the ice bin. Fill the water tank with potable water, ensuring it is below the MAX fill line. Recommended water type: distilled or demineralized water (hardness < 12 grains per gallon) at 40-82°F (4-28°C). Place the ice bin back and close the door.
- Start Making Ice: Plug the unit into a properly installed grounded outlet. Press the ON/Standby button [Power Button] to start the ice-making cycle. The unit will continue making ice until the ice bin is full.
- Scoop Ice Out: The ice maker will start producing ice in approximately 15 minutes. Scoop the ice cubes out as they are made. Put the ice into use or store it in a freezer to avoid melting.
Automatic Refilling
To add water automatically, connect the included hose to your home's water supply system. An adapter (not included) may be required depending on your system.
To avoid overflow, do not add water manually when the ice maker is already connected to the water supply system.
- Insert the Hose: Fully insert the included hose into the water inlet port on the back of the unit until it is fully seated. To remove, hold the gray ring and pull the hose out.
- Connect with Water Supply System: Connect the other end of the hose to your water supply system. A 1/4" connector may be required. It is recommended to connect with a water filtration system to prevent blockage from scale or mineral build-up.
4. CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE
To keep your ice tasting fresh, it is recommended to perform self-cleaning at least once every 1 to 2 weeks.
Self-Cleaning
- Hold the CLEAN button [Clean Button] for 3 seconds to start or cancel the self-cleaning cycle.
- The ice maker will auto-clean for the first 3 minutes (the CLEAN indicator [Clean Indicator] stays on). After 3 minutes, the indicator will flash quickly for 5 minutes to confirm whether to proceed with a deep clean. Press the CLEAN button again to confirm. If no operation is performed within 5 minutes, the cleaning cycle will stop automatically.
- Once cleaning is done or cancelled, the ice maker will enter standby mode.
- After continuous running for 100 hours, the CLEAN indicator [Clean Indicator] will flash slowly for 30 seconds to remind you to clean the ice maker. Hold the CLEAN button [Clean Button] for 3 seconds to start cleaning.
Regular Cleaning
To remove fallen dirt or fibers, it is recommended to clean the ice bin and water tank once a week. Unplug the unit before cleaning.
- Unplug and take out the ice bin. Remove the water filter from the right corner of the tank.
- Rinse the ice bin and water filter with diluted detergent and warm water.
- Clean the water tank with diluted detergent, warm water, and a soft cloth. Add water to rinse and then drain out the water.
- Gently wipe the exterior with a soft, damp cloth.
Removal of Scale / Mineral Build-up
For scale or mineral build-up, follow these directions for deep cleaning periodically or when needed. Do not clean with solvents or chemicals.
- Fill the water tank with warm water (around 90°F / 32°C) below the MAX line or connect with the water supply system.
- Add distilled white vinegar or an ice maker cleaner. Let it sit for at least 18 hours.
- Hold the CLEAN button [Clean Button] for 3 seconds to start the self-cleaning cycle. If the indicator flashes, press the CLEAN button [Clean Button] to continue. Repeat for at least 3 cleaning cycles.
- Drain the mixture and continue running 3 cleaning cycles with fresh water for each rinse.
When not in use for an extended period of time, drain the water tank and clean as instructed. Cover and store in a cool, dry location away from direct sunlight.
