Panel Description
The front panel of the SD10i features several controls and interfaces:
- 1. Power Switch: A two-position toggle switch to turn the device on (up) or off (down).
- 2. USB-C Interface: Used for charging the device or for mobile device OTG digital audio recording and playback. Note: This interface is primarily for mobile device recording and may require third-party ASIO drivers for professional DAW use on Windows, with potential compatibility issues.
- 3. Power Indicator: Shows power status and battery level. Off when the device is off. On when the device is on. Green indicates battery >50%, Yellow <50%, Red <25%. Blinking Red indicates the battery is critically low and requires charging.
- 4. AMP Type Selection Knob: A 9-position knob to quickly select different main amp tones.
- 5. INSTRUMENT Knob: Adjusts the overall instrument volume. This knob's effect is equivalent to the "Instrument" fader in the iAMP APP mixer.
- 6. AUDIO Knob: Controls the volume for Bluetooth audio and OTG playback.
- 7. PRESET Button (with light): Cycles through the four presets within the current group. The button's light color indicates the current preset position.
- 8. Headphone Interface: A 3.5mm TRS jack for connecting headphones.
- 9. INPUT Interface: A 6.35mm TS jack for connecting musical instruments like guitars.
Device Connection
The SD10i can be connected as follows:
- Connect your guitar to the INPUT jack using a standard instrument cable.
- Connect headphones to the Headphone Interface (3.5mm TRS). Note: Connecting headphones mutes the SD10i's internal speaker output.
- Connect a mobile phone or tablet via the USB-C port for OTG audio recording/playback or charging.
- Connect the power adapter to the power input for charging.
Getting Ready to Start
- Power On: To prevent sudden high volume damage, turn the INSTRUMENT and AUDIO knobs to their minimum settings before turning on the power switch.
- Connect Instrument: Connect your guitar to the INPUT jack. Wait a few seconds for the device to power on, then adjust the instrument volume using the INSTRUMENT knob.
- Connect Bluetooth Playback Device: On your mobile device, search for Bluetooth devices and connect to "SD10i Audio". Once connected, you can play music through the SD10i and adjust its volume with the AUDIO knob.
Panel Operation
- Preset Switching: The SD10i offers 10 groups of 4 presets each, totaling 40 presets. Before connecting to the iAMP APP, you can cycle through the 4 presets in the current group by pressing the PRESET button.
- AMP Tone Switching: The AMP knob allows selection from 9 distinct amp tone types, including 2 Clean, 2 Overdrive, 2 Crunch, and 3 Distortion models.
- Tone Saving: After editing a tone, long-press the PRESET button to save it. The button's light will blink rapidly to confirm the save.
MOOER iAMP APP
- Download: Download the MOOER iAMP APP from your device's designated app store.
- Device Connection: Open the iAMP APP, select SD10i, and connect via Bluetooth. The app will display a progress percentage upon successful connection.
- Account Registration: Registering an account is recommended to access cloud features, allowing you to download presets from other users and upload your own.
- Preset Selection/Editing/Saving:
- Tap the preset name area to view the preset list and select others.
- Tap a tone module to select its type and adjust parameters using the slider.
- Tap a selected module again to toggle its on/off state.
- Long-press a module to drag and reorder the effect chain.
- Click the save icon next to the preset name to save changes.
- Cloud Upload/Download: Requires account registration and login.
- Atmosphere Lights: Customize the front panel's ambient light mode (Off, Static, Dynamic) and color via the APP settings.
- Standby Sleep Function: To conserve battery, the device enters sleep mode after a set period of inactivity and no signal input. The power indicator blinks, and PRESET/TAP lights turn off. Any knob turn or button press wakes the device. Note: The device will not enter standby if the drum machine, tuner, or Looper is active, if the Looper contains data, if it's charging, or if there's continuous signal input/operation.
- Firmware Update: Connect to the APP to update the device's firmware when new versions are available.
- Factory Restore: Reset the device to factory settings via the APP's settings menu (version number section). This will clear all user presets.
MOOER F4 Wireless Footswitch
The SD10i supports connection with the MOOER F4 wireless footswitch (sold separately) for enhanced control over preset switching, drum/LOOPER operation, TUNER function, and tempo setting.
- First Use Pairing: Turn on the F4, long-press A & C footswitches to enter pairing mode (light flashes). In the iAMP APP, click the pedal icon and start pairing. Successful pairing displays the current preset number on the F4 screen.
- Preset Switch: Use the A/B/C/D footswitches to step through presets. Press A&B together to step up (increase group), and C&D together to step down (decrease group).
- TAP TEMPO: If a delay module is active, the current spike light blinks according to the delay time. Continuously press the preset footswitch to set the delay module's time value.
- TUNER Tone Correction: Long-press any footswitch to access the TUNER function. The APP displays the tuner interface. The screen shows the note name and pitch status (steady "0" is in tune; counterclockwise is flat, clockwise is sharp).
- Drum Machine / LOOPER Control: The SD10i features an 80-second LOOPER and a drum machine with 40 rhythms, supporting synchronization. The F4 enhances control.
- Enter Drum Machine/LOOPER Mode: Press B&C footswitches simultaneously in preset switching mode. The F4 screen will display "LD". Press B&C again to return to normal preset switching.
- Controls in LOOPER Mode:
- A/B footswitches: A for LOOPER record/play/overdub, B for stop/clear.
- C/D footswitches: C for drum machine tempo tap, D for drum machine start/stop.
- Rhythm Type Selection: In "LD" mode, long-press C to select rhythm types. Use C/D to decrease/increase the rhythm number. The interface exits to "LD" after a few seconds of inactivity.
OTG Recording/Playback
The SD10i's Type-C interface supports high-quality digital audio recording and playback with mobile devices. A compatible OTG adapter cable (e.g., USB-A female to Lightning or USB-C) and a USB-A to USB-C data cable, or a single OTG data cable, are required for connection.
