Safety Instructions and Warnings
General Safety
⚠️ Installation operations must be carried out by skilled and qualified installers in accordance with the instructions in this booklet and applicable regulations. Do not use the hood if the power cable or components are damaged: disconnect from power and contact a dealer or authorized service. Do not modify the equipment's electrical, mechanical, or functional structure. Unauthorized repairs can cause serious damage and are not covered by warranty.
Warnings for the Installer
Technical Safety
⚠️ Before installation, check the integrity and function of all parts. If anomalies are found, do not proceed and contact the dealer. Do not install if an aesthetic defect is detected. Claims for aesthetic defects cannot be made after installation. Always use personal protective equipment (e.g., safety shoes) and exercise caution. The supplied installation kit is for masonry walls; assess other options for different wall types, considering wall surface and hood weight. Ensure fastening systems are compliant to avoid electrical and mechanical hazards. Do not install outdoors or expose to elements.
Electrical Safety
⚠️ The electrical system must comply with local standards, be earthed, and meet radio antistatic properties. Verify the mains power supply matches the identification plate. The socket must be accessible; install a mains switch if necessary. All electrical system changes must be done by a qualified electrician. Use only manufacturer-supplied screws (max. 13 mm). Contact the dealer for malfunctions. Disconnect power before installation.
Fumes Discharge Safety
⚠️ Do not connect to combustion fume pipes (boilers, fireplaces). Ensure compliance with local air discharge regulations.
User Warnings
⚠️ These warnings are for your safety. Read the booklet carefully before use or cleaning. The manufacturer is not responsible for damages resulting from failure to comply with safety warnings.
Intended Use
This equipment is intended solely for extracting fumes and steam generated from cooking food in non-professional domestic kitchens. Any other use is improper and may cause damage or injury, exempting the manufacturer from liability.
Children aged 8 and above, and persons with reduced physical, sensory, or mental abilities, can use the equipment under supervision or after receiving instructions and understanding the risks. Children must not play with the equipment. Cleaning and maintenance must not be performed by unsupervised children.
Use and Cleaning Warnings
⚠️ Before cleaning or maintenance, disconnect power by unplugging or switching off the main switch. Do not use with wet hands or bare feet. Ensure all electrical parts are off when not in use. Maximum weight of objects placed on the hood: 1.5 kg. Always supervise deep-frying. Do not leave open flames under the hood. Never use without metal anti-grease filters. Accessible parts can become hot. Do not clean when parts are hot. Fire risk exists if cleaning is not done according to instructions. Disconnect the main switch for long periods of non-use. Ensure adequate ventilation when using gas appliances simultaneously.
Installation
This section is intended for qualified personnel only.
Technical Features
Technical specifications are on labels inside the hood.
Positioning
Minimum distance between cooking equipment and hood is detailed in installation instructions. Typically, at least 65 cm (25.6") for gas hobs, but may be reduced per standards (EN60335-2-31) or specific hob instructions. Do not install outdoors.
Electrical Connection
⚠️ Disconnect power before any operation. Ensure internal wires are secure. Connection must comply with law. Check power supply, system compliance, temperature limits for plug/cable, earthing, and socket accessibility. For devices without plugs, use a standardized plug and connect wires correctly (yellow-green for earth, blue for neutral, brown for phase). Ensure disconnection devices are present for overvoltage category III.
Fumes Discharge
External Exhaust Hood (Suction)
Fumes are discharged outside via an exhaust pipe. Connect the hood outlet fitting to an external output. The pipe must have: a diameter not less than the hood fitting; a slight downward slope in horizontal sections to prevent condensation; minimum required bends and length to avoid vibrations and suction loss. Insulate pipes in cold environments. A check valve is present for motors ≥ 800 m³/h to prevent backflow. German regulation: negative room pressure must not exceed 4 Pa (4 x 10-5 bar) when used with non-electric appliances.
Hood with Internal Recirculation (Filtering)
Air passes through charcoal filters for purification and recycling. Ensure active carbon filters are installed. Remove the check valve if present on the air outlet fitting.
