Quarterly investor news with CFO Jason Winkler
Motorola Solutions continues to prioritize R&D investments to develop innovative solutions that empower customers with cutting-edge, AI-driven public safety technologies. Recently, the company launched SVX and Assist, an integrated platform designed to reinvent how police officers protect and serve.
Your gateway to public safety AI
Introducing SVX with Assist: combining voice, video and AI in a single wearable device.
SVX: A Unified Public Safety Device
SVX is a first-of-its-kind device that integrates mission-critical voice, video, and AI into a single unit. This integration eliminates the need for an additional body-worn camera, reducing officer burden and lowering total cost of ownership for agencies. This powerful combination offers advanced AI-assisted report writing capabilities, enhancing operational efficiency.
Exclusively available with the APX NEXT family, SVX utilizes the inherent broadband connectivity of APX NEXT LMR devices. With an anticipated 200,000 APX NEXT devices having active app subscriptions by year-end, SVX presents an opportunity to deliver software applications across the platform.
Assist: Human-AI Collaboration for Public Safety
Assist is a new category of human-AI collaboration for public safety, providing contextual and actionable information. Assist is designed to access data across Motorola Solutions' ecosystem of technologies, empowering first responders to make informed decisions faster.
Examples include Smart Transcription and Smart Translation within the VESTA NXT 911 call handling software, live language translation between officers and community members via SVX, and more accurate police reports through Assist's ability to cross-reference and verify data sources, including radio audio tracks with AI for ambient noise reduction. Assist Chat, a recent launch, offers a CJIS-compliant AI chat assistant that conversationally connects users with agency data, procedures, and case history.
AI in Video Security and Beyond
AI plays a critical role in Motorola Solutions' video security solutions, an area of investment since the 2018 acquisition of Avigilon. AI integrated into cameras analyzes, learns, and recognizes anomalies, intelligently sharing information across technologies to orchestrate appropriate responses. This AI-driven approach, including Assist, is transforming the business towards data-driven software and services, increasingly generating recurring revenues.
Customer Engagement and Future Developments
Motorola Solutions recently hosted over 1,400 customers at its annual Summit, where Assist and SVX capabilities were highlighted. Early engagement with the public safety community has allowed agencies to experience the benefits of these game-changing solutions. The company also announced its intent to acquire Silvus Technologies, with further updates expected in the coming months.
