Installation
Important Note: Before starting any installation, turn off the water supply.
Important Note: Before commencing any installation, check the desired location to ensure no pipes or wires can be damaged during drilling.
First, prepare the water supply pipes to match the towel radiator and valve dimensions. Fit the radiator valve tail and nut into the towel rail at both sides, using sealing tape, and tighten into position. Then follow the installation steps below.
Step 1: Fit Top Components
Insert the blanking cap and air vent into the top of the radiator at either side. Use a small amount of sealing tape for security and tighten with a spanner, ensuring not to overtighten.
Diagram Description: A schematic shows the top of the radiator where the blanking cap and air vent are inserted.
Step 2: Position Wall Brackets
Determine the position of the wall hanging brackets on the wall based on the radiator's size. The brackets should be located between the last bar and the second bar from the end, as illustrated. Mark these positions on the wall and use a spirit level to ensure they are horizontally and vertically aligned.
Diagram Description: Two diagrams are shown. The first illustrates the radiator with arrows indicating the correct placement of brackets between bars. The second shows a wall with marked bracket positions and a spirit level ensuring alignment.
Step 3: Drill and Insert Wall Plugs
Using the drill and 8mm drill bit, drill into the marked positions. Insert the wall plugs and tap them flush with the finished wall surface.
Diagram Description: A diagram shows multiple holes drilled into a wall surface, with wall plugs inserted.
Please note: If drilling into tile, it is recommended to tape the wall to prevent the drill from slipping.
Step 4: Attach Wall Brackets
Position the wall brackets and screw them into place using the provided screws and washers, securing them with a Philips screwdriver. Place the bracket covers over the curved section of the bracket that sits between the rail and the bracket.
Diagram Description: Two diagrams are shown. The first illustrates wall brackets being screwed into place with washers. The second shows a close-up of a bracket attached to the wall, with the cover fitted.
Step 5: Hang the Radiator
Once all brackets are secure, hang the radiator until it is fixed firmly into place. Adjust the radiator so that it aligns correctly with the pipework.
Diagram Description: A diagram shows the radiator being hung onto the wall brackets.
Please note: Two people may be needed to hang the radiator, depending on the model purchased.
Step 6: Connect Valves
Finally, fit the radiator valves to the pipework and connect them to the radiator valve tail. Tighten all connections.
Important: Filling the Radiator
The product is supplied un-filled.
If the radiator is NOT being connected to the central heating system, it should be filled with a mixture of 80% water and 20% glycol. Allow for a 5% air gap.
After Installation
- Turn on the water supply.
- Using a flathead screwdriver, open the air vent via the central screw.
- Open the inlet valve and allow water to fill the radiator.
- Check all connections for leaks.
- Once water overflows from the air vent, it indicates that there are no air bubbles present.
- Use a screwdriver to close the air vent. The radiator is now ready to use.
Cleaning
This radiator is made from steel with a painted finish. To maintain its surface:
- Wipe with a clean, damp cloth and then wipe dry.
- Do not use abrasive cleaning agents or materials, as these can strip and scratch the surface, potentially invalidating your guarantee.
It is recommended to wipe and dry the radiator on a regular basis.
