Safety Instructions and Approval Safety Instructions Warranty Read t he inst allat ion guide t horoughly bef ore you set up t he swit ch. The swit ch is a complicat ed elect ronic unit t hat may be repaired only be aut horized and qualif ied personnel. Do not t ry t o open or repair t he swit ch yourself . Do not place t he swit ch in a damp or humid place, e. g. a bat hroom. Do not st ack t he swit ches. The swit ch should be used in a shelt ered area, wit hin a t emperat ure range of +5 t o +40 Cel si us. Do not expose t he swit ch t o direct sunlight or ot her heat sources. The housing and elect ronic component s may be damaged by direct sunlight or heat sources. Do not deploy t he cable f or LAN connect ion out door t o prevent elect ronic shock hazards. Do not power of f t he rout er when saving conf igurat ions or f irmware upgrades. It may damage t he dat a in a f lash. Please disconnect t he Int ernet connect ion on t he rout er bef ore powering it of f when a TR-069/ ACS server manages t he rout er. Keep t he package out of reach of children. When you want t o dispose of t he swit ch, please f ollow local regulat ions on conservat ion of t he environment . We warrant t o t he original end user (purchaser) t hat t he swit ch will be f ree f rom any def ect s in workmanship or mat erials f or a period of t wo (2) years f rom t he dat e of purchase f rom t he dealer. Please keep your purchase receipt in a saf e place as it serves as proof of dat e of purchase. During t he warrant y period, and upon proof of purchase, should t he product have indicat ions of f ailure due t o f ault y workmanship and/ or mat erials, we will, at our discret ion, repair or replace t he def ect ive product s or component s, wit hout charge f or eit her part s or labor, t o what ever ext ent we deem necessary t ore-st ore t he product t o proper operat ing condit ion. Hardware Installation Bef ore st art ing t o conf igure t he swit ch, you have t o connect your devices correct ly. 3. 1 Network Connection Use t he Et hernet cable(s) t o connect None-PoE devices t o t he Vigor swit ch. All device port s are in t he same local area net work. 3. 2 Rack-Mounted Installation The swit ch can be inst alled easily by using rack mount kit. 1. Fast en t he rack mount kit on bot h sides of t he VigorSwit ch using specif ic screws. 2. Then, inst all t he VigorSwit ch (wit h rack mount kit ) on t he 19-inch chassis by using ot her f our scr ew s. 7 4. Software Configuration Bef ore using t he swit ch, perf orm t he f ollowing st eps: 1. Set up a physical pat h bet ween t he conf igured t he swit ch and a PC by a qualif ied UTP Cat . 5e cable wit h RJ-45 connect or. If a PC direct ly connect s t o t he swit ch, you have t o set up t he same subnet mask f or PC and t he swit ch.
