Garage Door Opener Compatibility
Compatible with most openers manufactured after 1993 using photoelectric sensors that do not shut off. Not compatible with openers where sensors change power mode (e.g., lights turn off after closing) or Chamberlain Group openers with a yellow learn button (2010-2021), or Linear openers. Check compatibility by manufacturer.
Router Compatibility and Settings
Ensure your router has the following settings:
- 2.4 GHz enabled (5 GHz is NOT compatible).
- 802.11g or 802.11n (802.11 b/g/n) enabled.
- DHCP enabled.
- Security set to WPA2, WPA3, or WPA2/WPA3.
- Inbound and outbound TCP port 8883 open.
Refer to "Router settings and compatibility" for more details.
How to Improve Your Wi-Fi Signal
To address weak Wi-Fi signals ? in the garage:
- Ensure the router is within 50 ft. of the hub.
- Move the router closer to the garage.
- Mount the hub in a recommended location (see "Choose the Hub Location").
- Use a Wi-Fi extender.
Test the Door Sensor Battery
Test the battery every 6 months or if the control is not working as expected:
- Press and release the test button (?️) on the door sensor. The red LED should blink, and the hub should beep.
- Repeat this test 5 more times, waiting 5 seconds between each press.
- If the LED does not blink or the hub does not beep, check the pull tab, ensure there is no debris on the battery, or replace the battery (see "Replacement Parts").
Change the Door Sensor Battery
- Pry the latch panel on the bottom of the door sensor with a coin or screwdriver and lift the top to remove it.
- Using a soft non-conductive tool (like a cotton swab), gently push the coin battery out.
- Gently insert the new battery and replace the cover.
Dispose of batteries properly. Use only 3V CR2450 coin batteries.

Erase Wi-Fi Settings from the Hub
To reset Wi-Fi settings:
- Ensure the green LED (?) is on or blinking.
- Press and hold the ⚙️ (Settings) button on the hub until the blue LED (⚙️) blinks.
Reset the Hub to Factory Default
This erases Wi-Fi settings and removes the device from your myQ account.
- Press and hold the ⚙️ (Settings) button on the hub until the blue LED (⚙️) starts blinking, then release.
- While the blue LED is blinking, press and hold the ⚙️ (Settings) button again until the blue LED pauses then blinks or beeps.
