6. Operation

1. How to Use the Refrigerator

1.1 Connecting with 12V or 24V

Connect the feeding cable to a direct current 24V DC power source. Ensure the polarity is correct. If connecting to an existing cigarette plug, carefully check that the power supply is sufficient. If the supplied power cable is not used, refer to the cable information table below. The Fridge/Freezer is designed to operate on DC voltage inputs.

DC input 12V or 24V
DC cable 2.5m, 16AWG

1.2 Connecting with 110-240V

Note: The Fridge/Freezer is designed to operate on DC voltage inputs only. Use the supplied AC/DC adaptor to operate the fridge on 240V AC.

The coolers have an integrated multi-voltage power supply with a priority circuit for connecting to an AC voltage source of 110-240V. The priority circuit automatically switches the cooler to mains operation if the device is connected to a 120/240V AC mains, even if the 12/24V connection cable is still attached. To protect the freezer and cigarette socket, it is suggested to use only one power supply at a time.

2. 65L Operation

2.1 Switched-on/off

Connect the fridge to a power source and short press the [power icon] to turn on the fridge. Short press the [power icon] again to power off.

2.2 Adjusting The Temperature

With the appliance turned on, short press the "+" button to increase the temperature and the "-" button to decrease the temperature. The highest temperature is 10°C, and the lowest is -18°C. Note: Hold down the "+" or "-" button to fast scroll through temperatures.

2.3 Swapping Between Fahrenheit (°F) Or Celsius (°C) And Battery Protection Settings

Note: To swap between C or F on the display, the fridge must be plugged in and turned off.

  1. Step 1: Long press the "+" and "-" buttons simultaneously for 3 seconds to enter the advanced settings.
  2. Step 2: When the advanced settings appear, short press the [power icon] to cycle through PR (protection settings) or F/C function (Fahrenheit/Celsius switch mode).
  3. Step 3: With F/C showing on the screen, short press "+" or "-" to convert Celsius to Fahrenheit. F refers to Fahrenheit, C refers to Celsius.
  4. Step 4: With PR showing on the screen (protection settings), short press "+" or "-" to set the voltage protection levels.

2.4 Battery Protection Level

What is Battery Protection Settings?

This function is designed to prevent over-discharge and battery depletion. When the measured DC voltage is below the Cut-off value, the compressor will shut off to prevent battery depletion. After the voltage is higher than the Start-up value, the compressor will go back to work. Improper protection setting or a low-power battery may cause an E1 error. Please lower the battery protection setting or recharge the battery in time.

Power Source Display HIGH MID (Default Setting) LOW
Start-up Cut-off Start-up Cut-off Start-up Cut-off
12V 12.4V 11.1V 11.7V 10.4V 10.9V 9.6V
24V 25.7V 24.3V 24.2V 22.8V 22.7V 21.3V

3.5 Faster Cooling (MAX) & Efficient Cooling (ECO) Settings

Press the [ECO/MAX icon] to switch between the ECO and MAX settings. The indicator light will illuminate next to the selected mode: blue for MAX or green for ECO.

3. 75L Operation

3.1 Switched-on/off

With the unit plugged in, press the [Power Button] to switch the unit on or off.

3.2 Temperature Adjustment

Note: After several seconds of inactivity, the screen will return to the current "real time" temperature.

Press the corresponding "+" or "-" buttons to adjust the target temperature. The target value will flash on the gauge. The temperature will change by one degree with each press. Holding the button can accelerate the changing process.

Left-Compt Temperature Adjustment Buttons are on the left side of the display. Right-Compt Temperature Adjustment Buttons are on the right side of the display.

3.3. Switch Between °C to °F And Battery Protection Settings

Note: To swap between C or F on the display, the fridge must be plugged in and turned off, meaning the fridge enters the stand-by mode.

  1. Step 1: Press and hold the "+" and "-" Right-Compt Temperature Adjustment buttons simultaneously for 3 seconds to enter the advanced settings.
  2. Step 2: When the advanced settings appear, press the [power icon] to cycle into PR (protection settings) or F/C function (Fahrenheit/Celsius switch mode).
  3. Step 3: With F/C showing on the screen, press "+" or "-" buttons to convert Celsius to Fahrenheit. F refers to Fahrenheit, C refers to Celsius.
  4. Step 4: With PR showing on the screen (protection settings), press "+" or "-" buttons to set the voltage protection levels.

7. Troubleshooting

1. Power Cutting In/Out

  • The 50L and 65L fridges both have an inbuilt voltage meter on the main screen that shows the current voltage; however, the 75L does not. Use the voltage meter to help troubleshoot circuit and battery faults.
  • Your fridge has built-in battery protection and needs a minimum of 10.9V to start and 9.6V to continue operating.
  • During operation, when a load is placed on the circuit and power supply, the voltage can drop by as much as 2V. Many factors can affect voltage drop, such as: increased resistance from long cables, or cables that are undersized or oversized for the application. Poor or loose connections can also increase resistance.

Example: The fridge turns on, runs for 1 minute, then turns off. The likely problem is that the battery and wiring circuit have sufficient voltage to start, but when a load is applied (the compressor starting), the voltage drops below 9.6V, and the fridge turns off. This cycle will repeat. When the load is removed from the battery, the voltage will begin to show 10.6V, which is enough to start the cycle again. Try testing the fridge with 2 separate batteries before raising a warranty claim.

Note: If the fridge is able to run on the AC/DC transformer, the problem is likely a faulty battery, wiring, or connection.

2. Common 12V Power Supply Issues

Wiring

The standard wiring from the car battery to the 12V outlet may not be rated to power the fridge. Ensure the wire gauge is of sufficient size to supply the fridge's current draw over the required length. If unsure, check the vehicle's instruction manual or contact a local automotive electrician for advice.

Note: Always fuse wiring with an in-line 15A fuse as close as reasonably possible to the power source (i.e., the battery).

Battery

The car battery could be old, undersized, or have a dead cell, causing too much voltage drop. If the battery contains a dead cell, it may still show voltage with no load applied. When a load is applied, the cell will drop, and subsequently, so will the voltage.

Connections

The 12V plug, car 12V socket, or any of the connections between the fridge and the battery could be faulty or have come loose since installation.

Error Codes

Code Description Action
