PICOS 4.5.0E (ESS)
An Early Sales Support (ESS) stable version for specific customer deployments and early adoption scenarios, providing early access to new features.
PICOS 4.5.1E (Evaluation)
An evaluation release for the N8550-24CD8D platform, focusing on core features with some advanced capabilities not yet fully implemented.
PICOS 4.5.0M (GA)
A General Availability (GA) release with enhanced stability and performance improvements, supporting all platforms except FS S3410/S3270 series switches.
PICOS 4.5.2E (ESS)
An ESS version for the new platform N9600-64OD.

- IPv6 ND Snooping: Security feature to safeguard IPv6 networks against attacks, similar to ARP Snooping in IPv4.
- MPLS: Multiprotocol Label Switching operating between link and network layers for IP connectivity services.
- PIM BSR (Bootstrap Router): Dynamic RP for PIM devices, enabling election of an RP through aggregation of C-RP information.
- Ingress Buffer: Supports ingress buffer management, including guaranteed, shared, and headroom management.
- PFC Watchdog Manual Control: Detects and resolves PFC deadlocks with automatic and manual recovery options.
- PFC Deadlock Prevention: Modifies DSCP and Dot1p priority to prevent PFC deadlock states.
- Easy ECN: Enables WRED policies and threshold configuration for effective network congestion management.

- Standby IP Address: Defaults to 192.168.1.1 for management if DHCP fails and no static IP is set, ensuring management access.
- Perpetual PoE: Allows Power Sourcing Equipment (PSE) to continue providing power during system restarts and upgrades.
- PFC/ECN: GRPC monitoring of PFC pause frame counts, PFC deadlock, and ECN-marked packet counts.

- DHCP Server Enhancement: Resolved issue with clients unable to obtain addresses in DHCP relay scenarios.
- DHCP ZTP: Configurable address pools for IP addresses and network information for clients.
- 400G Port Splitting: Support for splitting 400G ports into 2x200G or 4x100G on N9550-32D/AS9716-32D switches.
- PBR ECMP: Policy-Based Routing action supports next-hop-group for ECMP routing.

- MLAG: Resolved issues with link state showing IDLE, CONNECTING status after peer restart, and failure to reach FULL state.

- MAC Learning: Resolved MAC learning issue exceeding 8K entries in MLAG scenarios on N9550-32D.
- DOT1X: Fixed crash during 802.1X reauthentication with specific session timeout configurations.
- SNMP: Resolved issue with SNMP failing to retrieve LLDP neighbor details when exceeding five neighbors.
- LLDP/SNMP Notification: Resolved issue where LLDP might not notify SNMP after interface reconfiguration.
- DHCP Server: Fixed address assignment failure with excessive address pools.
Known Limitations
- N9600-64OD: Sub-interfaces may not come up in 8x50G mode with OSFP-SR8-800G module.
- N9600-64OD: Port light remains illuminated after module removal in port splitting mode.
- N9600-64OD: Undersized packets not counted in 'Undersize Packets' statistics.
- N9600-64OD: BMC light remains red after successful startup; PICOS does not control BMC light.
- N9600-64OD: Front Panel Ports 65 and 66 are not supported.
- N9600-64OD: Packets smaller than 295 bytes may not reach full line rate due to hardware limitations.
- N9600-64OD: Software-based MAC address learning results in a slower learning rate.
- PICOS 4.5.0M: Does not support OSPF Multi-Instance.
- PICOS 4.5.0M: Does not support telnet server.
