Nicola's Machinery Trident Plus 60HP A/C Cabin Tractor QuickStart Guide
Safety Guide
This guide provides essential safety instructions for operating the Trident Plus 60HP A/C Cabin Tractor.
Before Operating
- Only trained operators should use the tractor.
- Perform a pre-operation check: Inspect tires, fluid levels, brakes, and steering.
- Ensure all controls are functioning correctly before starting.
- Wear appropriate safety gear; avoid loose clothing that may get caught in moving parts.
- Keep the cabin windows and doors closed while operating to maintain protection from external hazards.
Starting the Tractor
- Always start from the operator's seat.
- Ensure the transmission is in neutral and the parking brake is engaged.
- Allow the engine to warm up before engaging gears.
- Confirm proper ventilation inside the cabin to prevent fogging or reduced visibility.
Safe Driving Practices
- Keep both hands on the steering wheel and feet on the operator platform.
- Drive at a controlled speed, especially on slopes.
- Use the cabin's air filtration system to reduce dust and airborne particles.
- Ensure the windshield wipers function properly in rainy or dusty conditions.
Operating on Slopes
- Drive up and down slopes rather than across.
- Avoid sudden stops or sharp turns on inclines.
- Be aware of potential blind spots due to the cabin structure.
Parking and Stopping
- Lower all implements to the ground before parking.
- Engage the parking brake and turn off the engine.
- Remove the key before dismounting.
- Keep the cabin locked when unattended to prevent unauthorized access.
Emergency Procedures
- In case of loss of control, reduce throttle and apply brakes gradually.
- If tipping occurs, stay in the seat and hold on firmly; the enclosed cabin provides rollover protection.
- Keep a fire extinguisher inside the cabin and be familiar with emergency shut-off procedures.
QuickStart Guide & Tips
Follow these steps for initial operation:
- Check all surrounding area and make sure there is no obstacle before starting up.
- Check front end loader locking devices & make sure they are all in locking positions (Bucket lock & Front-end loader lock).
- Depress the clutch, check all gears are in neutral and start up by turning on the ignition switch.
- Select relevant gears to move.
Clutch Tips
- Do not ride on the clutch or partially press the clutch while driving. Partially pressing the clutch pedal reduces contact friction between the flywheel and friction plate, leading to wear and tear of the disc plate.
- Check clutch pedal free play (free movement) before driving. If there is no free play, adjust the length of the connecting rod.
4WD Tips
- Pull up the 4WD lever to engage 4WD. Push down the 4WD lever to return to 2WD. If the lever is difficult to move while stationary, slowly move the tractor to allow the 4WD gear to mesh.
- Never use 4WD in high gear; it is only for low gear.
- Always check if the front wheels slip while in 4WD. If the front wheels do not slip, stop the tractor immediately to prevent damage to the inner shaft or gears in the front driving axle.
3-Point Linkage & PTO Tips
- Always use the 3-point linkage floating function for tow-behind implements (slasher, grader, rotary hoe, flail mower, and other similar implements).
- Use low speed 560rpm PTO for implements with a gearbox.
- If your tractor has a sub-clutch (PTO brake), do not engage it (pull up) while driving; set the PTO speed lever in neutral position.
Control Panel & Operating Levers Overview
This section details the primary controls for the Trident Plus 60HP A/C Cabin Tractor.
Cab Controls
- (1) Indemar Heavy-Duty FEL Joystick with Rear Bucket Control Button: Controls front-end loader (FEL) functions such as lifting, lowering, and tilting. To control the bucket, hold the rear button and move the joystick left or right to open or close the bucket.
- (2) Shuttle Shift Forward/Reverse Lever: Shifts quickly between forward and reverse directions.
- (3) Hand Throttle: Controls engine speed for consistent RPM without using the foot throttle.
- (4) Engine Shut Off Cable: Stops the engine by manually cutting off fuel supply.
- (5) Clutch: Disengages the engine from the transmission to change gears.
- (6) Left Brake: Controls the left rear wheel for braking or turning.
- (7) Right Brake: Controls the right rear wheel for braking or turning.
- (8) Foot Throttle: Regulates engine speed by controlling the throttle with the foot.
- (9) 4WD Lever: Engages or disengages 4-wheel drive for better traction.
- (10) Diff Lock: Engages the differential lock to provide maximum traction by locking both rear wheels together.
- (11) Rear Hydraulic Remote 1: Controls hydraulic functions for implements attached to the rear of the tractor.
- (12) Rear Hydraulic Remote 2: Another control for additional hydraulic functions on rear implements.
- (13) High/Medium/Low Range Gear Selector: Adjusts speed range: High for transport, Medium for general use, and Low for heavy-duty tasks.
- (14) Main Gear Selector: Selects the desired gear for forward or reverse movement.
- (15) 3PL Up/Down/Float Control: Adjusts the height or float position of the 3-point linkage (3PL).
- (16) PTO High/Low Speed Lever: Switches between high and low Power Take-Off (PTO) speeds.
- (17) Hand Brake: Engages the parking brake to keep the tractor stationary when parked.
