Front Panel

The front panel features a remote sensor, a power indicator, and control keys:

  • POWER / MENU Button: Turns the TV on/off and opens/closes the menu.
  • CHANNEL buttons: [Channel Up Button] / [Channel Down Button] (or [Up Arrow] / [Down Arrow] in menu mode).

Connection and Setup

Cable Installation

Before installation and use, read the "Warning and Safety instructions". Place the TV on a drafty, flat surface.

General Connection Notes:

  • When plugging/unplugging power or signal cables, hold the insulated part of the plug, not the cable body.
  • Ensure TV and external devices are off before connecting/disconnecting.

Port Descriptions:

  • LAN: Connect a network cable to the broadband network interface.
  • HDMI1/2/3: High-Definition Multimedia Interface for digital video and audio. HDMI 1 supports ARC (Audio Return Channel) for transmitting TV sound to compatible devices.
  • PC: Connect a VGA cable from the computer to the TV's VGA port. Tighten bolts clockwise.
  • ANT: Connect the antenna via coaxial cable.
  • DIGITAL AUDIO OUT: Sends digital audio signal to external equipment.
  • HEAD PHONE [Headphone Symbol]: Connect a 3.5mm headphone.
  • USB2.0: Connect USB storage devices for multimedia playback.
  • COMPONENT/AV (YPbPr): For connecting devices like DVD players. Provides good picture quality by separating video signals. Use three video-grade cables and ensure correct audio cable connection to AV/YPbPr R/L jacks. Note: Component and AV inputs share one audio input and cannot be used simultaneously.
  • AV IN: Connect DVD output via AV cable.
  • AV OUT: TV monitoring signal output.

Power Input: The TV accepts 100-240V~ 50/60Hz. Do not connect power outside this range.

Wireless Network: The unit has a built-in wireless network card for Wi-Fi connection.

Getting Started

Using the Remote Control

Aim the remote control at the television's remote sensor. Performance may be affected by bright lighting or obstructions. Effective distance is approximately 7 meters.

Installing Batteries

  1. Open the cover at the back of the remote control.
  2. Install two AAA batteries, matching the '+' and '-' terminals correctly.
  3. Replace the cover.

Battery Replacement Notes

Replace batteries when weak. Incorrect battery use can cause leakage or explosion. Always ensure correct polarity, do not mix battery types or old/new batteries. Chemicals leaking from batteries can cause skin irritation; wipe up immediately with a dry cloth. Batteries have a shorter life expectancy in certain storage conditions. Do not expose batteries to excessive heat.

CAUTION: Incorrect battery replacement may cause explosion. Only use same or equivalent battery types.

Remote Control Functions

  • [Record Button]: Start recording (DTV). Change teletext screen size.
  • [Previous Button]: Skip to previous (Media). Go to index page (Teletext).
  • [Next Button]: Skip to next (Media). Reveal hidden teletext info.
  • [Reverse Button]: Reverse playback rapidly (Media). Enter subtitle mode/subpage.
  • [Advance Button]: Advance playback rapidly (Media). Cancel teletext (press again to exit).
  • AUDIO [Audio Button]: Select NICAM modes (Analog TV) or audio language (Digital TV).
  • [Teletext Button]: Enter/exit Teletext.
  • [Info Button]: Display current program information.
  • [Back Button]: Return to previous menu. Delete button.
  • NUMBER BUTTONS: Select channels or input passwords.
  • [Menu Button]: Access adjustable settings menu.
  • [Exit Button]: Quit current interface.
  • Direction Buttons: [Up Arrow], [Down Arrow], [Left Arrow], [Right Arrow] for menu navigation.
  • [OK Button]: Select current item or enter next menu level.
  • [Netflix Button]: Go to Netflix homepage.
  • [YouTube Button]: Go to YouTube homepage.
  • [Volume Up Button] / [Volume Down Button]: Adjust volume.
  • [Source Button]: Select signal source and access main scene interface.
  • [Channel Up Button] / [Channel Down Button]: Select channels in ascending/descending order.
  • COLOR BUTTONS: Red, Green, Yellow, Blue for navigation links.
  • [List Button]: Display channel list; press again to exit.
  • [EPG Button]: Electronic Program Guide (DTV mode).
  • [QMenu Button]: Enter quick menu.

Note: Button colors and shapes may vary. Unmentioned buttons are not used.

Basic Operation

Turning On and Off

  • Turn On: Plug in the power cord and press the [Power Button] on the remote control.
  • Turn Off: Press the [Power Button] to enter standby mode. Unplug the power cord for complete power down. Avoid leaving the TV in standby for extended periods.

First Time Setup

When first running the TV, an Initial Setup Menu will appear. Ensure antenna or cable TV is connected.

  1. Select Language: Use arrow buttons to choose menu language, press [OK Button].
  2. End-User License Agreement: Select 'Accept' and press [OK Button] to proceed.
  3. Select Country: Use arrow buttons to choose your country, press [OK Button].
  4. Select Time Zone: Use arrow buttons to choose your time zone, press [OK Button].
  5. Auto Tuning: The TV starts auto tuning. Pressing [Menu Button] during search may skip to DTV search.

Notes: If no channels are received, check aerial connection or country selection. If few channels are received, aerial reception may be poor.

Programme Selection

  • Use [Channel Up Button]/[Channel Down Button] on the TV panel or remote.
  • Use number buttons (0-9) to directly select channels (e.g., press '5' for channel 5, or '2' then '0' for channel 20).

Volume Adjustment

  • Use [Volume Up Button]/[Volume Down Button] on the TV panel or remote.
  • Press [Mute Button] to mute/restore sound.

Changing the Input Source

  1. Press the [Source Button] on the remote.
  2. Use arrow buttons to cycle through input sources (DTV, ATV, HDMI 1, HDMI 2, HDMI 3, COMPONENT, AV).
  3. Press [OK Button] to confirm your choice.

Menu Operation

How to Navigate Menus

  1. Press the [Menu Button] to display the main menu.
  2. Use [Up Arrow]/[Down Arrow] buttons to cycle through main menu items. Press [OK Button] or [Right Arrow] to access the next level.
  3. Use [Up Arrow]/[Down Arrow] buttons to select a sub-item, then press [OK Button] or [Right Arrow] to enter the submenu.
  4. Press the [Menu Button] to return to the previous menu.
  5. Press the [Exit Button] to exit the menu.

Notes: Grayed-out menu items are unavailable. TV panel buttons can substitute remote functions. Some items may be hidden based on mode or signal source. On-Screen Display (OSD) may differ slightly from the manual.

Configuring the Channel Menu

  • Auto Tuning: Select Tune Type (DTV+ATV, DTV, ATV), Country, then press [OK Button] or [Right Arrow] to Search. Channels are stored upon completion.
  • DTV Manual Tuning: Select channel and press [OK Button] to tune. Displays signal strength.
  • ATV Manual Tuning: Set Storage To, Current CH, System. Use [Left Arrow]/[Right Arrow] to Search. Save with [Red Button], Exit with [Exit Button].
  • Channel Edit: Select Programme Edit, then channel. Use [Red Button] to Delete, [Blue Button] to Skip, [Yellow Button] to Move, [QMenu Button] to set as Favorite.
  • Signal Information (DTV mode): Displays current signal information.
  • Dynamic Rescan: Switch On/Off.

Configuring the Picture Menu

  • Picture Mode: Select desired picture type. Adjust Contrast, Brightness, Color, Sharpness, Tint (NTSC), and Backlight when in 'User' mode.
  • Color Temperature: Select color temperature.
  • Aspect Ratio: Select picture size.
  • Noise Reduction: Reduces screen noise.
  • Advanced Option: Access submenu for MPEG NR (noise reduction), Dynamic Contrast, and Film Mode (optimizes picture for film signals).

Configuring the Sound Menu

  • Sound Mode: Select desired sound type. Adjust five-stage equalization (120 HZ, 500 HZ, 1.5 KHZ, 5 KHZ, 10 KHZ).
  • Balance: Adjust speaker sound balance.
  • Surround Sound: Switch On/Off.
  • S/PDIF Mode: Select 'PCM' or 'Auto' for digital audio output.
  • AD Switch (DTV mode): Auxiliary audio for visually challenged persons (available in North America/Europe). Controls Audio Description On/Off and volume.
  • AD Volume: Adjusts AD volume when AD Switch is On.
  • Audio Delay: Corrects audio-video sync problems (0ms~250ms).

Network Function Operation

Connect your TV to the Internet via wired or wireless LAN.

Connecting to a Wired Network

Connect the TV's LAN port to your network via a Cat 5 cable to a modem, IP Sharer, or wall outlet.

Automatic Setup (Wired)

  1. Connect TV to LAN.
  2. Press [Menu Button], navigate to Network, select Wired.
  3. Select IP Config, set Network Config to DHCP.
  4. The TV automatically acquires Internet values.
  5. Select Connect and press [OK Button].

Manual Setup (Wired)

  1. Follow steps 1-4 of automatic setup.
  2. Set Network Config to Static.
  3. Use number buttons to input IP Address, Subnet Mask, Gateway, DNS1, DNS2. Press [Menu Button] to return.
  4. Select Connect and press [OK Button].

Notes: IP/Subnet/Gateway/DNS values must be between 0 and 255. Use a private IP address.

Tips: Use Cat5 or better LAN cable. Resetting router/modem can resolve connection issues.

Connecting to a Wireless Network

Connect via a standard wireless router or modem.

Setup Wifi

  1. Press [Menu Button], navigate to Network, select Wifi.
  2. Select Wifi Config, then Base Station. The TV searches for available networks.
  3. Select a network from the list and press [OK Button].
  4. Enter the network Password using the on-screen keyboard.
  5. Select Connect and press [Enter Button].

Add Network Manually: Select 'Add others', input network name, encryption mode, and password.

WOW: Switch On/Off.

Troubleshooting Connection: If connection fails, check ISP MAC registration, firewall settings, or contact your ISP.

Option Menu

  • Language: Select On Screen Display language.
  • PVR File System (DTV mode): Prepare USB storage (min 512MB, USB 2.0, FAT32). Format USB, check speed, view Record List, set Time Shift Size.
  • Recording: Instant Recording (press [Record Button]) or Schedule Recording (via EPG).
  • Playing Recorded Programmes: Access via PVR File System (Record List) or USB mode (Media -> select disk -> folder).
  • Time Shift Function: Record live TV for later viewing. Press [II Button] to activate.
  • Subtitle: Switch On/Off.
  • Subtitle Hearing Impaired: Provides information for hearing impaired users.
  • Audio Languages: Select preferred audio language.
  • Subtitle Languages: Select preferred subtitle language.
  • Upgrade: USB Upgrade or Network Upgrade.
  • Country: Select country.
  • HDMI_CEC: Enable/disable HDMI_CEC, Auto Standby, ARC, Auto Power On. HDMI EDID settings.
  • App Settings: Information about Netflix.
  • Restore Factory Default: Resets system settings.
  • Installation Guide: Setup assistance.
  • End-User License Agreement: Read and accept/decline.

Lock Menu

  • Lock System: Prevents unauthorized operation using a 4-digit password (default: 0-0-0-0, factory: 1-2-2-5).
  • Set Password: Set a private password.
  • Block Programme (ATV/DTV): Block specific programs using the [Green Button].
  • Parent Lock (DTV): Prevent children from watching programs based on age rating.

Timer Menu

  • Auto Sync: Syncs TV clock with DTV broadcast time.
  • Clock: Display DTV time or set manually.
  • Sleep Timer: Sets TV to standby after a defined period. Set to 'Off' to cancel.
  • Auto Sleep: TV enters standby mode automatically after inactivity.
  • Time Zone: Display your time zone.

PROGRAMME GUIDE (DTV mode): Press [EPG Button] to view program information for up to eight days. Use [Red Button] for recording setup, [Green Button] for info, [Yellow Button] for schedule list, [Blue Button] for program reminders.

Channel List & Q.MENU

Channel List / Favorite List

Press [List Button] to display the channel list. Use arrow buttons to select channels, switch between lists, search programs ([Yellow Button]), or page up/down. Press [Exit Button] or [List Button] to exit.

Q.MENU

Press [QMenu Button] to display the quick menu. Use arrow buttons to select items and adjust settings. Options include Picture Mode, Sound Mode, Noise Reduction, Aspect Ratio, Audio Languages, Subtitle Languages, TV Radio, and MTS.

Home Page

Smart Home Operation

Press [Source Button] to access the Home interface, showing Input Source, Media, and Applications. Navigate with arrow buttons and [OK Button]. Press [Exit Button] to exit.

Media Playback

Play files from USB storage devices (Photo, Music, Video). Supported formats include JPEG, BMP, PNG (Photo); MP3, AAC, M4A (Music); AVI, VOB, DAT, MPEG-1/2/4, TS/T.P (Video).

Accessing Media: Insert USB, select Media, choose Files/Music/Photo/Video. Exit with [Exit Button].

Playing Files: Select file type, then file. Use [OK Button] to play. Switch devices as needed.

Music Play: Select music, use [OK Button] to play/pause. Access 'AudioSet' menu via [Menu Button].

Photo Play: Access via Media -> Photo. Use [OK Button] for console, [Menu Button] for 'PhotoSet' menu. Console controls include Play/Pause, Prev/Next, Rotate, Zoom, Info, Setting.

Video Files: Access via Media -> Video. Use left/right keys for rewind/fast forward. Use up/down keys to switch files. Use [OK Button] for console, [Menu Button] for setting menu. Console controls include Play/Pause, FB, FF, Prev, Next, Repeat mode, Goto, Info, Setting.

Applications

  • Netflix: Sign in to stream TV shows and movies online. Visit www.Netflix.com for more information.
  • Multiscreen: Mirror your Android device's screen onto the TV via a wireless network. Enable Wireless Display on your device and select the TV name.

Teletext

Using the Teletext Feature

Select a TV station with teletext signal, press [Teletext Button] to enter. Press [Mix Button] for Mix mode (overlay teletext on TV program). Press [Exit Button] to return to normal mode.

Page Selection: Enter page number using number buttons. Use [Left Arrow]/[Right Arrow] for previous/next page.

Hold: Press [Hold Button] to freeze/unfreeze the page.

Index: Press [Index Button] (i) to go to the main index page.

Enlarging Text: Press [Enlarge Button] to double text size (top/bottom half). Press again to return to normal.

Reveal Mode: Press [Reveal Button] (?) to show/hide concealed teletext information.

Subpage: Enter subpage number to access subpages. Press again to exit subpage mode.

Color Buttons: Red, Green, Yellow, Blue access corresponding teletext pages.

Troubleshooting Guide

Problem Possible Solution
No sound and picture Check power connection, POWER button, picture settings (contrast, brightness), volume, mute status, and broadcast signal. Check audio cables.
Remote control does not work Check for obstructions, battery polarity, correct remote mode, and install new batteries.
Power is suddenly turned off Check sleep timer settings and power control settings. Ensure power is not interrupted.
Picture appears slowly after switching on This is normal during startup. If it persists after five minutes, contact service.
No or poor color or poor picture Adjust color settings, ensure sufficient distance from VCR, try another channel, check VIDEO cables, activate brightness function.
Horizontal/vertical bars or picture shaking Check for local interference (electrical appliances, power tools).
The TV is not receiving all channels. Confirm coaxial cable connection. Ensure antenna is positioned correctly and connections are secure. Tune to another station.
Poor reception on some channels Check for station/cable problems. Reorient antenna for weaker signals. Check for interference sources.
No output from one of the speakers Adjust balance in menu option.
The TV audio is not being played through the receiver. Connect an optical cable. ARC (Audio Return Channel) via HDMI (ARC) port requires an ARC-compatible receiver.
Wireless network connection failed. Ensure Network Connection is set to Wireless, TV is connected to a wireless IP router, and check network status.
Software update over the Internet has failed. Ensure TV is connected to the network. Update may stop if latest version is installed.
No picture when connecting HDMI Use High Speed HDMI cables if the current cable causes flickers or no display.

Maintenance

Cleaning the Screen

  1. Wet a soft cloth with lukewarm water and a little fabric softener or dish washing detergent. Wring until almost dry and wipe the screen.
  2. Ensure excess water is removed, then let it air-dry before turning on the TV.

Cleaning the Cabinet

Wipe the cabinet with a soft, dry, lint-free cloth. Do not use a wet cloth.

DISPOSAL

Dispose of the product, packaging, and batteries according to local regulations. This helps conserve natural resources and ensures proper recycling.
