DryEasy Plus Wireless Bedwetting Alarm Instruction Manual
Attention
- The receiver must be placed in the same room with the child but kept away from the bed so that the child needs to wake up to reset it.
- Do not place the receiver on the floor or near any metallic object, as reception can be affected.
- The child must wear a pair of close-fitting underpants, as urine can be detected faster. DO NOT wear loose underpants or boxer shorts.
- Parents are recommended to have a trial run of all steps for use of the alarm during daytime with the child before the first-time use.
- Rapid response to the alarm alert can enhance the success rate in overcoming bedwetting. Parents play an important role, particularly at the initial stage, in awakening a sleeping child for urination and are therefore recommended to sleep in the same room with the child for the first 2 weeks of using the alarm.
- Keep using the alarm for 2 more weeks after dryness to lower the chance of relapse.
Diagram showing the transmitter with a sensor tip and cover, and the receiver with controls. The transmitter has a channel switch and battery compartment. The receiver has a reset button, channel switch, power switch, volume control, USB port, sound switch with 6 sound options (A1-A3, B1-B3, R for Random), and operation mode selection (S for Sound only, SV for Sound and Vibration, V for Vibration only).
A. How to test the transmitter and receiver
The transmitter and receiver have been set on the same channel before delivery. They are ready for use. No pairing is required.
- Remove the insulation tag from the transmitter, if any, before use.
- Put 2 AA alkaline batteries in the receiver. Ensure the batteries are inserted with correct polarity.
- Make sure the power switch of the receiver is turned to the "ON" position.
- Test the transmitter by touching the sensor tip (metal prong) with a wet finger. Press the "Reset" button to stop the receiver from sounding.
If the receiver doesn't sound, please check whether the transmitter and receiver are on the same channel (see section E regarding channel selection).
B. How to adjust volume level and select operation mode / sound
- Open the battery compartment door of the receiver and press "+" or "-" for volume adjustment (4 levels).
- Slide the switch for operation mode inside the battery compartment to change from "sound only" to "sound and vibration" and "vibration only".
- There are altogether 6 sounds available: A1, A2, A3, B1, B2 & B3. To select a desired sound, choose "A" or "B" and then "1", "2" or "3" by sliding the sound switches.
- Alternatively, you may turn the sound switch to "R" for random playing.
C. Way to attach the transmitter and sensor
- Attach the transmitter to the underpants by following the steps set out below:
- Lift up the clip lever.
- Place the waistband of the underpants into the mouth of the clip.
- Lock the clip by pressing down the lever.
- Attach the sensor to the outside of the underpants in the following manner:
Tip: Pull down the underpants slightly for easy fixing of the sensor.
Diagram showing how to attach the sensor. First, grasp the area most likely to get wet and hook it onto the cover. Then, push the sensor tip towards the cover, ensuring the underpants are caught between the cover and the sensor tip. Finally, press down the tail of the cover to lock.
Diagram showing the correct and incorrect placement of the sensor on underpants. The correct placement shows the sensor attached to the front of the underpants, with the cable pointing downwards. The incorrect placement shows the sensor attached too low or in a way that it might not detect urine effectively.
Important: The sensor should be attached with the cover facing up (as shown below).
Note: To detach the sensor from the underpants, simply lift up the tail of the cover.
D. How to stop the receiver from sounding when bedwetting occurs
- Press the "Reset" button of the receiver.
- Remove the wet material from the sensor. (If the sensor keeps attaching to the wet material, the receiver will go off every two minutes.)
E. Channel selection
The transmitter and receiver have been set on the same channel before delivery. They are ready for use. No pairing is required. Should there be any interference from other wireless devices, you may change the channel. There are a total of 16 channels available for selection.
- Remove the back of the transmitter with a paper clip or a slotted screwdriver. Twist to open. Change the channel setting by moving any of the channel switches to form any combinations. Replace the back of the transmitter.
- Change the channel setting for the receiver to the one same as that for the transmitter.
Diagram illustrating the channel selection switches on the receiver.
F. Low battery indicator
When the batteries are about to run out, the LED will flash 3 times every 10 seconds.
G. Replacing batteries for the transmitter
As the power consumption of the transmitter is minimal, batteries can be used for a long time. In case you need to replace the batteries, open the back of the transmitter with a paper clip or a slotted screwdriver in the way as shown in section E.
H. Powered by batteries or through an adaptor
The receiver can be powered by 2 AA alkaline batteries or through any smartphone adaptor whose output voltage is 5 Vdc and current is 0.5 A or above. A USB cord is provided herewith for connecting the receiver to the adaptor (not inclusive) for powering.
I. Cleaning
- Transmitter and receiver: Use a dry cloth to wipe the surface. Do NOT immerse in water.
- Sensor tip: Use a damp cloth to wipe the sensor tip and let it dry naturally. (Note: The sensor tip should be cleaned regularly to maintain sensitivity.)
